by: Justinon [More]
Welcome to LorePlay, Soulless One!

Open for translation to other languages! Message me if you want to contribute.

Morrowind update!

Zenimax did a fantastic job making ESO feel immersive and beautiful, but I'm taking that just one step further.
LorePlay is an immersive roleplay addon designed to help bring your character to life whilst wandering Tamriel.
With the adaptive SmartEmotes, IdleEmotes, and LoreWear features, you'll be more engaged with your character than ever.

SmartEmotes
ZOS has provided a plethora of emotes, however many are not used to their full potential.
SmartEmotes expands the way your character experiences and reacts to the land of Tamriel.
Did you swim in a bit of water that was just a tad too cold? You'll certainly have the shivers!
Did you destroy an innocent creature? Maybe you should pray to Y'ffre for forgiveness.
And with SmartEmotes, you can.

Features:
  • Perform appropriate and adaptive emotes with the press of a button!
  • SmartEmotes button is bindable
  • Optional UI indicator lets you know when to perform special emotes
  • Adaptive to location (now housing)
  • Adaptive to level-ups
  • Adaptive to combat and killing bosses
  • Adaptive to friends and strangers when hovering over them
  • Adaptive to lockpicking situations
  • Adaptive to useful loot
  • *NEW!* Adaptive to Mara commitments!
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Optional adaptive Significant Other recognition in Settings menu
  • ...and many more environmental situations

IdleEmotes
Are you wandering Tamriel, and your character just needs to stop for a brief rest?
Maybe do some quick jumping jacks? Take a quick sit on the nice Valenwood grass?
Maybe you just need to go AFK for some reason, but regardless, you shouldn't just stand there!
And with IdleEmotes, you won't.

Features:
  • Go idle or AFK (not moving, not fighting, not stealthing) and your character will perform automatic emotes!
  • IdleEmotes are context sensitive
  • Adaptive to location
  • Adaptive to housing
  • Adaptive to much more!
  • Can optionally perform emotes even while in the menu
  • Configurable emotes in the Settings menu (Can dance, Can exercise, and more)
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Keybind can toggle IdleEmotes quickly, in case emotes are not appropriate at the time
  • Configurable duration between emotes

LoreWear
When out venturing across Tamriel, you will certainly need some armor.
But what about when you are taking a stroll through town?
With LoreWear, you will always be dressed appropriately for any occasion.

Features:
  • Automatically equips your favorite outfit sets when appropriate!
  • Contextual City, Housing, Dungeon/Delve, and Adventure outfit sets
  • Save any 'Appearance' collectible in your stylish outfits
  • *NEW!* Vanity pets interchangeable with your favorite outfits!
  • Adorn your favorite set at anytime with a keybind
  • Toggleable in the Settings menu
  • Configurable in the Settings menu (Can equip while mounted, and more)

For Users:
Thank you for trying LorePlay! This is my first addon, so feel free to leave your feedback and suggestions, as that's what is going to truly get this addon moving in the right direction. I plan on releasing updates with many more features and fine-tunings as well. Much is on the to-do list but in order for me to prioritize certain things, I first want to find out your opinions. Thanks again so much everyone, and safe travels in Tamriel!

Love this addon? Feel free to grab me a coffee to keep me going even longer!

Also, special thanks to my dad for being an awesome tester, and supporting me throughout the development of this addon.

So what would be awesome is if you could make a new category for a set of idle emotes, where we could input certain emotes into the list of possible emotes to play while idle, so that the ones we put into list are the only idle emotes that can pop up when we're idle.

Is that something you could do for us?
Hoping you could respond to this.

Release 1.4.4

Hey guys, wanted to say that I've been pretty satisfied with the release of LoreWear outfits support in 1.4.4. I wanted to identity a bug that exists, it occurs if you have 'Use a Favorite ...' option and set your favorite outfit while not wearing anything in the respective collectible category. For example, if you set a costume but no hat as your favorite while the 'Use Favorite Hat' option is on, then if you enter a city while wearing a hat, the hat will *not* be taken off. This is incorrect, as it should take it off.

I am working on this bug and plan to release an update. I apologize if this interferes with you experience, please bear with me

Maybe, if you show me the place in your files, where your table with English city/zone/dungeon names is (i assume there must be a table somewhere?), i might be able to translate it for you and give you a complete table with German names.
Hey! That sounds awesome, I'd love to have it translated to be used properly across multiple languages. I'll send you a PM with the GitHub code and direct you towards the table.

For selecting which emote categories you want to include, the 'Settings > Addons > LorePlay > IdleEmotes' section in-game lists toggleable 'ON/OFF' switches for various acts. I agree it's not obvious, however turning off 'Can Be Drunk In Cities' will remove the vomit emote from being performed by IdleEmotes.

Yes, I can get to work on that! I'll release it soon, should be simple.

Is this something that can be implemented?
Agreed, sometimes the shifts can be unnatural and doing them often is weird. I can't really help the shifts being awkward, since the character always returns to a natural pose before performing the next emote. But I can definitely allow for more control of the frequency at which the IdleEmotes are performed. I'll get to work on implementing it.

I'm honestly not entirely sure why at first glance, given that information. I'll have a look into it.

Nice addon, just wondering if it would be possible to add another set of emotes to play while idle, except let us define which emotes play from the emote list. For example I'm really not into randomly vomiting, yet this is on the default idle emotes...another example - I have the Duchess personality equipped so would like to add /flirt to the played idle emotes. Maybe we could choose the set to play with keybinds.

Also if you need this addon to be aware of time of day ingame (saw a comment below requesting this) maybe it's possible to hook into the Clock - Tamriel Standard Time addon, and have time-based emotes work if people have that addon.

Thanks for a great addon!

A suggestion--

I really love your addon, the only thing I feel it could really use would be a timer (up to 1-2 minutes) that we can change, to put a gap between emotes. Right now, it changes very quickly and can look rather unnatural. I go from sitting on the ground to suddenly dancing, one right after the other.

Is this something that can be implemented?

Thanks for not only the great RP/ immersion add-on but the update as well!

I do have a small feature request, please... add a keybinding to toggle 'IdleEmotes On/Off' because sometimes I'd rather have then not to play. Adding a simple key bind to toggle that feature would be super brilliant!

"Cannot play emote at this time" message

Hey Adventurers,

So with the latest update to Homestead, LorePlay is becoming stronger and more enticing than ever. Luckily, the shift from One Tamriel to Homestead has proven to be smooth and simple for LorePlay technically. However I wanted to point something out:

There will be a message that appears at the corner of your screen (and probably more frequently than you'd like) when you're browsing through menus that says "cannot play emote at this time". This is due to IdleEmotes attempting to emote while in menu; previously this was not a problem however now there will be a message displayed. There are no actual *errors*, I just thought I'd point out this new nuisance and note that I'm working on correcting it. As a sidenote, other emote addons have been having the same problem.

Also, I wanted to add that while although it's coming along slowly, I'm planning on implementing simultaneous hat AND costume outfits for LoreWear. I believe with the recent-ish additions of so many new stylistic options throughout the game, LorePlay needs to parallel that expansion to maximize ease of customization...and fun!

So anyway, just wanted to post this as an update for you to see that while although it's become a lot more slow, LorePlay is still alive and well. Happy travels

Hey, yes I've found the problem and it actually is more expansive than that. ZOS decided to do some shifting around of the indices for the emotes and therefore it is going to take a bit more than just this to correct at least from a logical standpoint. I plan on getting to it over thanksgiving break (thanks college for making me so busy)
Ha, damn! There I thought it was that easy, but thank you for fixing it I highly appreciate it. LorePlay is a must-have addon for me by now.

One Tamriel Update!

Sorry guys that it took so long for me to finally update LorePlay for One Tamriel; I'm a college student in a quarter system so now that university is in session, I have a lot less time to dedicate to LorePlay.

To compensate, I allowed for addon developers to upload optional fixed and patches to LorePlay for others in the time that I'm gone!

Have fun and safe travels!
