UPDATE: I don't play ESO any more, love the game, might again in the future, but as of right now this is not being maintained. Others have asked if they can take over and I hope they do!

I do not take credit for the creation of this mod, all credit goes to AlphaLemming who originally created and maintained AlphaGear up until June 2016, at which point it stopped receiving updates for 2 consecutive API updates.

That being said, I am a professional programmer and am going to try to do more than just update the API version number going forward. Please submit bug reports to this AddOn page and I will try to fix them, and I may even be able to implement new features at some point if I have the time.

What Is AlphaGear?

AlphaGear lets you create up to 16 sets of gear that may be equipped with a single button press. You can assign each set to a different key on your keyboard for easy swapping when out of combat. This is not the same as regular in-game weapon swapping as it allows you to swap both of your weapons, both of their skill bars and your entire armor set at the same time! Fantastic!

I just started playing ESO in November of 2016, and out of all the AddOns I downloaded AlphaGear was my favorite by far, despite being nearly half a year outdated. I've tried other gear set solutions and in my limited experience they're just not as good for a variety of reasons, but I'm not going to start bad talking other mod authors by getting specific

Usage Tips

Bind your number pad to gear sets if you aren't using it already because they are not considered the same as your number row keys by ESO
Create 2 (or more) sets with the same equipment, but different skill bars to create situational skill setups (solo, group, etc...)
Create a radial menu using Big Picture mode with your Steam or Dual Shock 4 controller (Steam beta) to make swapping gear sets a breeze! Combine this with my first tip and set your radial menu buttons to num1, num2, etc...

Found a Bug?

Tell me! I'm going to try to keep this thing working going forward for as long as I play ESO, if only because I intend to use it extensively! I will take all bug reports seriously and attempt to fix them, though it may take a while for me to figure them out since I didn't write this (or any other...) AddOn.

I assume it was done that way on purpose for balancing reasons, but i still want to try and see if there's a way around it.

I can assign items to the gear slots at the top. I can assign skills to the loadout bars on the side. And I can assign keybinds to gear sets... But none of this actually does anything in game when I try push the keybinds. No gear or skills are actually swapped. I'm missing something, but I don't know what. Is there a tutorial or something for us less intelligent people? Thanks *EDIT* The problem was, the buttons to link gear sets and skill sets to the Keybinds were not present. After exiting the game entirely (rather than logging to character select), and signing back in, the buttons had reappeared. Discovered an issue using alpha gear that existed in almost every addon of its kind and had to try SWAPS and Wykkds aswell only to have the same fate. When swapping between Sets with Staffs and Sets with Dual Weild all weapons began shuffling randomly. The only addon that worked was the most outdated, Dressing room with an update another released for one tamriel. (something about all IDs shuffling by one and two dk abilities swapped). Works like a charm, i can stress the addon and faceroll the keybindings and it never makes a mistake! Yay! Last edited by etchCDN : 01/31/17 at 06:23 PM.

randombodhi Forum posts: 0 File comments: 1 Uploads: 0	Well I tried to use this, and for a while nothing would happen when I initiated a gear swap, and I was about to hit submit on this post complaining about it (ie asking for help), but then on a whim I tried removing all my gear then using the gear-set commands and it worked.. Hmmm! Guess you have to start from naked for it to gather it's variables and stuf.. oops.. Upon further testing it appears that if you are in battle stance sometimes it doesnt swap (so have to press x to get out of stance an then it swaps auto), sometimes it does though.. maybe it's when swapping to a bow gearset that it hiccups But all in all it's going to be a rather useful tool Last edited by randombodhi : 01/23/17 at 07:19 PM.

Majeure Forum posts: 0 File comments: 121 Uploads: 0	Really like the style of this addon, but 16 sets? Especially for bars, that's not much at all. 8 builds with no variations. Would love to see this in a more dynamic fashion with unlimited sets, but even increasing the amount would go a long way. The addon also can't find items from the bank while it is open, which is pretty meh when using this for multiple characters with shared gear profiles or just in general so I don't have to carry a million sets in my bags, which is something I'm not going back to. You mean the buttons where you can switch to the Gear Number XX?
Try to deactivate and then reload, should save it then ^^

(I'm just glad this is being supported now) 2 other minor things that could help is; When you glyph out an item differently or improve it the database still recogises it correctly as the same item but does not update the icon/tooltip in the gear set. I need to remember to overwite the set with "currently equipped". As I said, this is minor. The other point is, I now have 8 playable chars with multiple sets on each and to help me as I swap chars, I use the dye station to colour code the sets so I have an idea of what is being worn. My thought is to have an option to display the current selected set name above(or below) the set selector block on the screen. Anyway, thanks again for taking over this great addon. Another suggestion : link equipement set to a role (DPS/Tank/Heal) and a type of game (PVP / PVE) with that done, the addon would be able to display a warning while in pve zone with a pvp gear or the opposite. Maybe check out http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1514-Masquerade.html I love how it saves more than just costume, but it would be even better to have one click for gear, costume, hairstyle

Thanks for this! Masquerade is awesome, but over the top for me. I always use one specific costume with a specific armour, otherwise just wear armour or just the same costume, so its just a click of the quickslot I am saving if this was in Alphagear.

I thought about this. I tend to leave it alone as there is a reduced range of stuff that works on there, BUT it would be good for those of us who play without that ult at all (mage tank/mage healer), and then want to swap to different style of play that needs it (dps).

Still basking in the joy of a revived Alphagear!

Sometimes it unfreezes and other times it crashes to desktop. Suggestion1: Allow for a greater number of skill and gear sets.
