AlphaGear 2 (Builds, Gear, Skills, Banking)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.17.0
by: mesota [More]
Anything you need to manage your skills and gear.
I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 20 profiles each with 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit or
  • 1 style (outfit, costume, pet etc. using AlphaStyle integration) (optional)
  • 1 FCO Item Saver gear icon (optional)
  • 1 Champion Point Set using Champion Points Slots add-on (optional)

Please backup your AlphaGear settings prior update!

To users of AlphaGear 3
AG 3 is a branch of AG 2 by another developer. It isn't maintained anymore. If you want to switch back to AG 2, just make a backup of your SavedVariables, uninstall AG 3 and install AG 2.
Your builds will then be available in AG 2.

Now available: Integrations!

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

Major: Always "6" for the branch that I maintain
Minor: Increases with every new ESO version:
  • 3.1 (Horns of the Reach) = "0"
  • 3.2 (Clockwork City) = "1"

  • 4.0 (Summerset) = "3"
  • 4.1 (Wolfhunter) = "4"
  • 4.2 (Murkmire) = "5"

  • 5.0 (Elsweyr) = "7"
  • 5.1 (Scalebreaker) = "8"
  • 5.2 (Dragonhold) = "9"
  • 5.3 (Harrowstorm) = "10" (never made it to release)
  • 6.0 (Greymoor) = "11" (never made it to release)
  • 6.1 (Stonethorn) = "12"
  • 6.2 (Markarth) = "13" (never made it to release)
  • 6.3 (FoA) = "14" (never made it to release)
  • 7.2 (Deadlands) = "15"
  • 7.3 (Ascending Tide) = "16"
  • 8.0 (High Isle) = "17"

Patch: Increases with every fixed bug or enhancement within a minor version.
Qualifier: Arbitrary labels like "alpha", "beta" to indicate a version which is not ready for production ;).

I am a bit confused, but I cant find any option for tabards anymore...
Its not listed in alphastyle, "outfit" does not contain tabards afaik. Or did I dream about that option?

Thats a serverside problem they introduced with a recent patch, nothing the addon can really do about it.
DR and assist rapid riding suffer as well...

Unequipping Poisons

Hi,

I have a build with poisons and another without. Both setups are locked, but when I switch between them Alphagear doesn't remove the poisons. Is this intended?

Keep up the great work.

I CANNOT set up the buttons. i dont understand.

Edit:
I figured out the issue. the buttons by default were positioned outside of my screen, even undetectable by azurah unlock. i dont know why as i have a standard 25 inch 1080p monitor. but after a bunch of more complicated tests, a simple reset postions of ui elements in the settings fixed this. i can recreate this if you want( my discord is barcode #5400)

i do have a request. can you synergize this addon with Statics quick slot profiles? (https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1775-StaticsQuickslotProfiles.html)

basically you need different quickslot profiles for different content, such as siege quickslot profile in cyrodil, or consumables/assistant profile in pve etc.

additionally, i have a question unrelated to this addon for pvp to just see if this is even allowed by zos. can an addon be made that with one click it repairs a door or wall in cyrodil without having to spam click the stone masonry or door lumber?

Failed to set new skill set

Hey there... just installed the addon, have it configured. I love the idea. But the problem is that when I switch to my DPS solo build (I'm a templar), it won't switch right. It errors in chat saying "Failed to set new skill set due to a bug in ESO. Kill a mob and try again."

I noticed you added the swap weapons icon to flash "if a skill needs update"... but I don't quite understand what that means.

Regardless, any ideas?

Logout is not always providing the poup dialog counting down.
So if the popup will not be shown you wouldn't be able to stop the logout properly if you still got something equipped.

Wouldn't it make more sense to show this as you leave a bank as I think you want to store the equipped items at the bank and make sure another char can use it?
Maybe you are wearing some other training or quest items at logout, which is correct then.

Bug

Hey mesota,

found a small bug. If you are currently reskilling your skills in your capital town and try to update the skill bars to the AlphaGear2 UI via the context menu "Actual equipped" it will ALWAYS use the 1st skillbar skill's and not the currently visible one at the reskill window.

https://i.imgur.com/VoeIhQq.png
Remember: I currently are at the reskill vanilla UI as you can see via the <-> icons.
My active bar is bar 2 showing the skills at the bottom right.
At left, inside the alphagear 2 UI, I had right clicked the 12th line of skills and chosen "Currently equipped".
But it had updated all skills from the skillbar 1 instead of the currently active skillbar 2.

You can set a set to "locked" by clicking the green lock, this will force all empty slots to be emptied. Otherwise those slots will be ignored, so things like poison stay equipped.

The last time I was able to write a new profile was 10/5.

I uninstalled the add on, reinstalled, restarted the game, etc nothing works.

I installed the add on on the pts, and the edit profile description works just fine (although the build profile ui is darker). But on live, it is not interactable. I really don't know what is causing this.

Update: After testing all my add-ons, I found that disabling AUI allows the edit profile button to work again. I'm not sure why that is so, because I've never had a conflict in-between Alpha Gear 2 and AUI before. If either add on authors want to look into this for users who rely on both of their add ons, that would help a lot.

As of now though, I have found two workarounds:

1) I can just temporarily disable AUI when I need to create a new profile or edit an old one's name.
2) Just open inventory and the edit profile button works again.

I hope this helps anyone else who is having the same issue.
Thanks for reporting this- and for the detailed analysis. I'll have a look at it for the next release.

Just tested AUI 3.38 with AG 6.12 on PTS and Live and the profile edit button worked as expected.
I've update all required libraries too.
Could you try again?

As of today, the edit profile button (paper with quill icon) is no longer interactable. The gear and x button work fine with some moving of my mouse, but the edit profile button doesn't work at all.

Here is my mouse clicking the edit profile desc.

Strange. Didn't hear of anyone else having problems.
What language do you use?
Can you manually uninstall AG (delete it from the plugins folder) and reinstall it?
