It's cool that your addon can make the chat window larger...

But is it possible to make is even smaller?

Looking forward to contrasting colours for name and chat content if you do implement it. I think that's one of the biggest reasons some people go to pChat rather than X4D. Chat is so much more readable when the names are darker than what they say.

I made a little chat addon for my own use, which basically colors every speaker name on different color based on hash of their name strings. That way everyone has dynamically created constant random color. While I understand some peoples abhor colorfullness, that works well for me and would have for a guildie, to separate speakers in busy conversation (rp), but unsurprisingly it doesn't play nicely with your addon. Is there possibility that you could add this nick coloring to your addon as an option? I could toss you the functions I used to generate color code for string.

Currently, no. The chat frame is implemented by ZO, and their implementation does not expose this functionality.

I'll see what I can do.

It would be nice to be able to have contrasting colors for the names and the rest of what is said. This allows for things to be picked out in a wall of chat text, especially when the name@accountname option is enabled.

I know I could use pChat for that but, as pointed out by someone else, the two addons do not play nicely with each other. I requested that the name@accountname option be added to pNames over two weeks ago, with no response or update to the addon.

It pobably isn't a simple or quick addition, but I'm sure having the ability to set specific colors for names, text, and perhaps even the timestamps would be a very welcome addition to all who use your addon.

I will be releasing an "All-In-One" version of my Add-ons so that users don't need to download/update 6 different things over and over, but it won't happen for approx. 2 more weeks.

Thanks for the answer...

Also, Are you planning on making a single settings panel similar to how Wykkyd does it for all his addons?
I've never seen/used wykd's add-on, the only add-on I use other than my own is FTC.

I'm consolidating code and I'm working on a shared library, part of which will replace my reliance on LibAddonMenu, after I'm done all of my add-ons will have their options UI merged into a single window.

No, the Lua engine in ESO doesn't care if you have 1 Add-On file/folder or 100 Add-On files/folders, it all gets merged into the same space at run-time.

Additionally, I have no interest in merging code at this point. Aside from it being problematic in terms of creative freedom this early in development, it also creates questions about source control, rights retention, release management and code quality/principles. I've been a developer for over 20 years, I don't mind working with others but I've worked on enough group projects to know I don't actually need/want the restraints that will come with it.

I have uninstalled all similar addons and installed all your X4D addons instead, would be nice if you could start to release a complete pack, they are solid and works nicely But keep it possible to turn on/off the addons individually. I test new stuff all the time, so that would be great

I'm not certain, however, I found that an incorrect/unofficial version of LibAddonMenu was shipping with a few of my Add-Ons.

I've republished all of them with the official version of LibAddonMenu.

Hopefully this resolves the issue, if not you may need to get in touch with 'Combat Cloud' authors as well.

Thanks man, must be Combat Cloud. Cause now since you "fixed" yours, when I go to Combat Cloud settings I get a LibAddonMenu, but for a different addon (this time WarGensis).
