Reticle Settings (Custom Crosshair)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.5.6
by: Divona [More]
Add option to show/hide, change style, and adjust the size and transparency of in-game crosshair (Reticle). You can add labels around the Reticle to show the information such as target name, health, distance, etc.

I made this addon because I find the standard Reticle is too big for my liking. The settings are flexible enough to allow you to change how the Reticle look for each state such as when point at interactable object, target mob, or while in combat. The default setting are set to be less intrusive and give feedback when player targeting an interactable objects, and when an enermy target is in combat range.

** FEATURES **
  • Show or hide Reticles.
  • Adjustable Reticles size and transparency.
  • Adjustable size of Interact text.
  • Quickly identify friend from foe by switch on Reaction Color. It will allow Reticle to change color according to the type of unit you're targeting.
  • *NEW* Show target name, health min/max around the Reticle.
  • *NEW* Custom Reticles. Change the look of Reticle to suit your style, or just to get that impact feedback.
** HOW DO I USE MY OWN RETICLE DESIGN? **

You will need an image of Reticle you want to use in the size of 64x64 pixels, and in DDS format. If you have Photoshop, you can use NVIDIA Texture Tools to save your design as DDS, or save as PNG and convert using free software such as Easy2Convert PNG to DDS.

NVIDIA Texture Tools
https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop

Easy2Convert PNG to DDS
http://www.easy2convert.com/png2dds/

Name your file to "custom1.dds", "custom2.dds", or "custom3.dds". Then put the file inside "Textures" folder within this Addon folder.

C:\Users\< username >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\ReticleSettings\Textures\

Then in game, select "Custom 1", "Custom 2", or "Custom 3" depending on what name you use.

Custom 1 - custom1.dds
Custom 2 - custom2.dds
Custom 3 - custom3.dds

Use the setting below when save or convert to DDS:

I'll put that to my to-do list.

Your new version puts the readme.txt file in the in game Add-Ons list. Deleting the readme.txt from the addon folder you packed solves it.

I am still missing the player interact reticle. What sort of information can I offer to help find the cause of this?

The game sees any .txt file as the header file for an addon, so you'll need to change it to some other format. I see lots of other options in other mods: *.rtf, *.info etc

Have you try reset all the setting back to default? Try delete ReticleSettings.lua file from:
C:\Users\< user name >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\SaveVariables\
and reload the UI.

Could you take a screenshot of the Interact section from the settings menu for me? It might be just incorrect setting.

The list of the addon you're using as well would be great so I can start tracking down what might 'cause the problem. Cheers.

Whoops. Will change it to other format. Is this causing major problem or can it be wait until the next update?

Tried resetting to default.

Honestly I think it's an issue between Reticle and Wykkyd's Full Immersion (which has reticle settings). Perhaps I should bring it to his attention instead.

I disabled all my other addons except this one and Wykkyd's and the problem still persisted.

It worked for a brief time before (both) of you updated, so perhaps it's a problem on his end rather than yours. I'll drop a comment there and see what happens.

(I'm using the Smart Hide reticle option, which is completely compatible with your addon aside from this one thing. Interesting.)

I don't think it causes any problems, just shows up on the Add-on list as readme.txt and says it's outdated =)

and btw, love the add-on!

It does appear to be that Wykkyd's Full Immersion is so powerful, its Smart Hide will override the settings of Reticle Settings. Wykkyd's does not have player character set as interactable object, therefore the Reticle stay hidden.

I would suggest you to turn off Smart Hide features in Wykkyd's Full Immersion when using Reticle Settings, due to conflict, and because all the setting are pretty much the same as what Reticle Settings is doing anyway. It's the duplicated features of these two Addons that is causing the problem.

Is there any way to use this to ID Group, Friend or Guild members? I used to use an add on called GuildFriendGroupReticle but it's gone now. Thanks.

Such feature is not currently available in this Addon. Maybe try Social Indicators?

Hello it seems target name and lvl doesnt reflect veteran levels, is it possible to include that, i use your addon for pvp and it is certainly useful to see which veteran level is he.

In my foolishness, I did not realize Reticle can serve the same function as Wykkyd's smart hide feature. I am so very, very sorry about that.

I would like to add that function in, but I've yet to reach level 10 (all the time goes to Addon making ) so even if I put the code in I will have no idea if it working properly as I can not actually test it. This is definitely on my to-do list.

EDIT:
I just realised I can just stand around town and keep searching for Veteran, and ask them to be a test subject for me. So I will add in Veteran Rank in the next update.

If you need a tester, i'm free anytime to test it, most of the players in my guild are veteran levels and using your addon cause its the best there is out of all the others.
