Reticle Settings (Custom Crosshair)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.5.6
by: Divona [More]
Add option to show/hide, change style, and adjust the size and transparency of in-game crosshair (Reticle). You can add labels around the Reticle to show the information such as target name, health, distance, etc.

I made this addon because I find the standard Reticle is too big for my liking. The settings are flexible enough to allow you to change how the Reticle look for each state such as when point at interactable object, target mob, or while in combat. The default setting are set to be less intrusive and give feedback when player targeting an interactable objects, and when an enermy target is in combat range.

** FEATURES **
  • Show or hide Reticles.
  • Adjustable Reticles size and transparency.
  • Adjustable size of Interact text.
  • Quickly identify friend from foe by switch on Reaction Color. It will allow Reticle to change color according to the type of unit you're targeting.
  • *NEW* Show target name, health min/max around the Reticle.
  • *NEW* Custom Reticles. Change the look of Reticle to suit your style, or just to get that impact feedback.
** HOW DO I USE MY OWN RETICLE DESIGN? **

You will need an image of Reticle you want to use in the size of 64x64 pixels, and in DDS format. If you have Photoshop, you can use NVIDIA Texture Tools to save your design as DDS, or save as PNG and convert using free software such as Easy2Convert PNG to DDS.

NVIDIA Texture Tools
https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop

Easy2Convert PNG to DDS
http://www.easy2convert.com/png2dds/

Name your file to "custom1.dds", "custom2.dds", or "custom3.dds". Then put the file inside "Textures" folder within this Addon folder.

C:\Users\< username >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\ReticleSettings\Textures\

Then in game, select "Custom 1", "Custom 2", or "Custom 3" depending on what name you use.

Custom 1 - custom1.dds
Custom 2 - custom2.dds
Custom 3 - custom3.dds

Use the setting below when save or convert to DDS:

Apparently, that's mean you have reach the limit of what the game can handle at processing the AddOns that's using LibAddonMenu library to create settings menu. What you can do here at the moment is to click Dismiss and the error won't show up again until you restart the game or reload UI. Else, you can disable the AddOns that has lots of options in their settings panel down one or two and the error should go away.

I'm still investigating of what is behind this limit, but it could be the game itself can't handle up that many AddOns to be load up at once.

I'll allow Reticle to be scale up to 150 in the next update. I've try to scale it up to 200 and it just look way too ridiculous for mere mortals.
Awesome sounds great. Thank you very much for adding that.

It is being investigate of what is causing the error. In the meantime, it seem like you can click Dismiss and the error won't show up again. Just a simple inconvenient when you start the game or reload UI. Cheers.

Did so. Would you prefer if I report here or on the patch comments (for future reference)?
Leave them in patch comments would be nice. Thanks.

Stuff that might be causing problems is due to function naming. In fact, I would almost bet on it.

The following functions are global functions, but not named in a way that makes them specific to your addon:
Code:
function updateLeftLabel( reticleVisible )
function GetLabelText( option )
function GetTargetLevel()
function GetTargetDistance( decimal )
function WeaponChanged(eventCode, activeWeaponPair, locked)
function GetCustomColor( hex )
function round( val, decimal )
function getPercent( currentNumber, maxNumber, maxPercent )
function RGBToHex( r, g, b )
function HexToRGB( hex )
If someone else writes an addon and declares global functions with the same name, they may get used instead.

Additionally, you have the following event registered:
Code:
EVENT_MANAGER:RegisterForEvent("ActiveWeaponText", EVENT_ACTIVE_WEAPON_PAIR_CHANGED, WeaponChanged)
This calls a function "WeaponChanged"

If another addon has a global function by the same name, it's possible that their function gets invoked by your event instead of your function.

Have a look at this thread on the forums that discusses in some more detail:
http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1029

You could implement a quick fix by prefixing all your functions with something like "ReticleSet_" so you would have stuff like:
Code:
function ReticleSet_GetTargetLevel()
You're much better off though making your functions part of your namespace, so intead you would see:
Code:
function ReticleSettings.GetTargetLevel()
Hope this helps and you don't feel I'm being too critical!

Something about having any/all of these enabled alongside Reticle Settings causes the error. Without Reticle Settings enabled, everything works fine together.

However, if I disable every other addon except for those four and Reticle Settings, there is no error.

As an experiment, I then started enabling addons after having those four and Reticle Settings enabled.

The error occurred again when enabling Simple Combat Alerts, Simple Chat Bubbles, and ESO Toolbox.

Now, if I once again only enable all of the addons mentioned above plus Reticle Settings, there is no error. I'm sure I could then start enabling addons one by one again and another, completely different addon would cause the error to appear. (Edit: I tried this and as expected, other addons began triggering the error. I'm very confident at this point that I could keep reproducing this pattern until everything is enabled again and the only way to remove the error is to disable Reticle Settings. Rinse and repeat.)

If I enable all of my addons, and then also enable Reticle Settings, the error occurs again. It seems that Reticle settings might be the culprit itself when combined with an assortment of other addons.

As an addition, I don't think the error actually stops Reticle Settings from working. It still does as it's set to; the error is just annoying.

I also did a fresh install of Reticle Settings, including the deletion of my saved variables for it to no avail.
Could you test out the patch and see if it fix the problem?

I can't managed to replicate the problem. It could be conflict with some other Addon. Could you try to disable all Addons and enable them one by one and see which one causing problem?

It could possibly be because of changes to the code from version 1.4.8, which cause some conflict with the settings from previous version. You could try to do a fresh install of the Addon.

1. Delete "ReticleSettings" from C:\Users\< user name >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\
2. Delete "ReticleSettings.lua" from C:\Users\< user name >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\
3. Unpack the newest version of "ReticleSettings" to C:\Users\< user name >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\
4. Restart ESO client (not just /reloadui), if you have it open.

Let me know how these goes.

Wykkyd has some insight on this issue: http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5359

I am also getting the error.
