Wykkyd Macros is an addon originally programmed as a piece of Wykkyd's Framework. It provides a fully configurable macro window for EMOTES and changing GEAR and SKILL sets in conjunction with Wykkyd Outfitter.

MACRO FEATURES:
  • Firstly: You can swap both action bars AND a gear set in a SINGLE macro with 1 press. The inactive weapon's skills will load when you swap to it. It will even prompt you in chat to toggle your weapons to finish loading your skills.
  • ADVANCED FEATURE: Macro Key Intercept (ESC > Settings > Wykkyd Settings > Macro Key Intercept)
    • MAKE SURE TO KEYBIND THE MACRO WINDOW (ESC > Controls > Keybindings > Wykkyd's Framework Macro Window)
    • Opening the macro window with this setting enabled WILL INTERCEPT ALL KEYSTROKES
      • This doesn't log what you're typing. That would be silly since it would only be able to write them to your saved variables file, which nobody but you has access to.
      • This DOES interrupt gameplay temporarily, but that is by design.
      • This is SPECIFICALLY so that you can re-map your keys WHEN INSIDE THIS WINDOW to whatever you wish, WITHOUT interrupting your normal game keybinds
    • When the macro window is open, you can HOLD CONTROL to enable key mapping (which lets you set which key triggers which macro)
    • Hovering your mouse cursor over a TAB button, a MACRO button or the CLOSE button while holding CONTROL lets you set that button to be triggered by the keyboard key that you press.
    • EXAMPLE: Setting a keybind inside the macro window
      • Open the macro window
      • Hold CONTROL on your keyboard
      • MOUSEOVER the first macro button
      • Press 1 (while still mousing over, and still holding control)
      • Macro 1 will now be set to the number key 1 whenever the macro window is open, but not at any other time
    • EXAMPLE USAGE: Swapping gear with a macro, using these new keybinds
      • Press HOME (my keybind for opening the macro window, in Controls>Keybinds)
      • Press 1 (my keybind, set inside the macro window, for Macro Button 1)
      • Press ` (my keybind, set inside Controls>Keybinds, for swapping weapons)

Advanced Setting Controls (available in all Wykkyd Addons)
  • Save To Default - This feature saves a snapshot of your logged in character's CURRENT settings as a save set named SYSTEM DEFAULT.
  • Load System Default - This loads the current SYSTEM DEFAULT as your character's settings and effectively sets your character to MIMIC the SYSTEM DEFAULT. This behaves exactly like Mimic below, with the exception that the SYSTEM DEFAULT only ever changes when you manually save to it from any character, by clicking Save To Default.
  • Mimic... - This sets the current logged in character to adopt the settings of another character until this value is changed. This causes the logged in character's saved settings to reset every time you log in or Reload UI to be like the mimic'ed character. If you set George to mimic Bob, as you save settings on Bob while playing those settings will become George's settings too whenever you log into George. As you play George and change his settings manually, those changes become temporary unless you clear the Mimic box. This affords some fairly awesome opportunities for your play sessions.
  • Wykkyd's Preferences (where available) - This will Reload UI and set your active character to the basic settings that Wykkyd uses for that addon for his characters as his STARTING point, he customizes each character from there and you are encouraged to also do so.
  • Reset All - Resets all settings inside the Advanced Setting Controls section for that addon, for that character

Use of SYSTEM DEFAULT allows you to basically create system-wide default settings. I say "system" because these settings are not filtered by account name. So if three people share your computer, they all adopt the system defaults (if they selectively choose to do so). This is a "neat trick" for people with multiple accounts as it lets you share settings across all of them.

For example, if you log into your first character and set every Wykkyd addon up the way you want. Then in each you click "Save To Default", one by one. You've now established your "baseline", if you will. You can then log into each character you have (regardless of number of accounts), including that same first character, and inside each, in each addon, click "Load System Default". Now every single character will use the same settings. In fact, because you saved defaults from character 1 and then set character 1 to use those same defaults, even that character is inheriting the SYSTEM DEFAULT every single time it loads. This means if you're on character 7 and decide to change your default for all, all you have to do is tweak your settings and click "Save To Default" and every single character you set up this way gets those settings automatically.

WARNING: System Default, and Mimic, can be dangerous. As of this time this ALSO includes saved item sets, gear sets, quest header settings, tracked achievements... IE: it includes data saved by the addons too. THIS WILL BE CHANGING IN THE FUTURE to be more intuitive and robust. But I didn't want to delay this feature until that was 100% polished. After all, this is fairly useful as is.

Hi there,
I'm still a bit spellbound by the complexity of your code. You're obviously working at a much higher level of code control than I am.
If you can point me at the right things, I can see if I can fiddle around with things to make it work.
Checked a bit into my code this morning. Macros addon used to have a "addon commands" option, and it would list slash commands provided to LWF through the addon registry and the user could add parameters.

Nobody was using that feature, as far as I could tell. And almost no other authors were using LWF in a publicly published manner. So, to save time when I updated to the new macros addon format a few months back I apparently dropped that feature.

If you were to go back several months of versions you'd find another "EditWin" type declared in the Editor file of the Macros addon (and this might be as far back as it being integrated inside of Framework and not yet a standalone addon) you'd find slash command registry support.

It's something I can, and will, add back in the near future. Give me a couple of weeks, though. I've got to come up to speed on some new technologies for my new day job and I've limited time to do so.

What you'll be looking to do, though, is something like this:

<on addon loaded>
if LWF4 then
local obj = <your addon global>
obj.Name = "whatever name"
LWF4.REGISTER_FACTORY( obj, true, false, nil, nil, nil, nil, false )
obj.SlashCommand( "command", callbackMethod )
-- / is optional in the command parameter. It could be "/command" or "command".
-- callbackMethod is the name of the function in your code that gets tripped when the command is triggered.
-- callbackMethod COULD be a direct function declaration like below if you choose:
obj.SlashCommand( "/command2", function()
-- do function stuff in here
end )
-- the above would make the slash commands show up in Macros, ideally. That'll be the goal anyway
end

You'll see, if you dig, that much of this is wired up already. Some of the supporting features in Macros were dropped months ago, as I described here. And there's a bit more to wire up for elegance inside LWF ( 2nd and 3rd parameters aren't properly consumed ). But you get the gist.

Further info:

LWF builds a collection of addons registered through it.
LWF can handle your addon-load event
LWF can call pre, during and post load functions for you (saved variable loads, etc)
LWF appends 30+ API features into your addon global when you register with it, which SHOULD result in streamlined code if you use them.
Macros used to read LWF's addon list to find registered slash commands, and then expose them for macro usage. That feature needs to return.

Second of all - I have a feature request for the macro addon that shouldn't be too difficult for you. I'm sure you know the addon Binder - it lets you save your keybinds and then load them again via slash command. I've dug into the code of your macro addon a bit and replaced the Emote command manually with the name of my Binder set, which I then loaded by altering the if-statement evaluating the given macro with Binder.LoadBindings(c.Param1, false) in line 107ish in Macros.lua.

Now my feature request would be a Binder integration, or a slash command that'd be executed, as fourth parameter. As far as I can tell, you'd just need a fourth edit box, throw in the slash command, and then pass the string on to the chat box. I'm certain you could throw that together in no time.

I'd be in your debt.

I'll check into some things when I get a chance. Things are a whirlwind right now. I think, though, if you detect for LWF4 and register your addon with it, using the options to tell it that you're already loaded, and then register your slash commands through LWF4... it'll show up in the command list for a macro. I might have temporarily disabled macro slash commands in the past, I'm not sure. I am at work and can't check it. But it used to work that way. As you can see I've had my hands off of that code for a bit

im dont rly strong in marcoses but is it possible to do with this addon - multi improvement?
for example i have 100 white daggers and 200 green things to improve em with 10% chance

any chance to create such macro, that can improve any amount you wish, or you need to write multiple macroses for each amount?

It's simple - Wykkyd's Macros does not work if you do not have installed Wykkyd's Outfitter.

If you want to use Wykkyd's Macros without Wykkyd's Outfitter (because of emotes), you will need to fix typo in "wykkydsMacros\code\Editor.lua", line 546. there should be false instead of true.

Warning: Spoiler

Sounds to me like you are horribly out of date. Read the download page. Update to the latest version.
That's odd I keep it updated with Minion and all my versions match what's on this page.
