Guild Sales Assistant 3.9.1

Have you tried Guild Sales Master? It's the perfect companion to GSA!

"Using Master Merchant like you should be? Awesome, how about an offline analysis tool! No login necessary. Great way of keeping track of what you're selling in guild stores and helping you then go and craft more."

Quoted From TESO: Essential Addons version2

"Want to go Nerd in Nirn? – then get Guild Sales Assistant for Master Merchant and build an offline database with a great analytic tool set so you can really track what you are selling in your guild stores."

Quoted From The Merchants Guide

Reviews From Around The Web...

And tonight have just added one called 'Guild Sales Assistant' which is a really REALLY good way of keeping track of what you're selling in guild stores and helping you then go and craft more.*

Master Merchant + Guild Sales Assistant are great add-ons.*

100% agree!*

Recommended Addons!*

If you do not use a banking/store app - i would recommend adding one. I personally use Master Merchant which also integrates with Guild Sales Assistant for offline storage of your merchant data.*

What are the best addons to use?*

You MUST have GSA and MM both enabled if you wish to get any new sales offline.

GSA no longer has an in game GUI.

The default GUI has been changed to Master Merchant

To get the offline component working.

1 - make sure you have the latest GSA and MM installed
2 - run the game so GSA and MM can gather your sales
3 - Play for a minute or two and then you can log out (or just keep playing)
4 - then ONLY after you have logged out the FIRST TIME - follow the steps in this video (yes the number of files in the zip has changed.

Thanks to the hard work of Philgo68 we were able to make it possible to run GSA and Master Merchant together.

------------------

If you have trouble with the video the steps are...
  1. Browse to your AddOns folder (open up GuildSalesAssistant folder)
  2. Run the Guild Sales Assistant program
  3. Follow the directions :-)
I do realize this isn't much information but it really is that easy

Reminder: You must have .Net installed if you plan to use the offline tool. If you aren't sure if you have it you can get the latest here - it will not hurt anything to install it or upgrade to the latest one. I am letting everyone know now so there are no bug reports because you didn't get .Net Framework installed!
3.9.1 - fixed a bug introduced in a previous version and API bump

3.9 - minor fixes, tried future proofing a bit more - this is the LAST version. Unless there is a program ending bug, this is it!

3.8.7 murk - API bump for Murk patch
3.8.7a2 - API bump (just updating it to be courteous) reuploaded to fix folder name mistake
3.8.7a - API bump (just updating it to be courteous)
3.8.7 - API bump (just updating it to be courteous)
3.8.6 - No functional changes / just cosmetic typos and misaligned sections (optional update - not a necessary one)
3.8.5 - corrected a minor bug with furniture and linked my bands full catalog from the options menu (all of it's free)
3.8.4 - API bump
3.8.3 - fixed a text bug that was bothering me

3.8.1a - just an API bump
3.8.1 -- tweaks, minor fixes
3.8 -- in one of my previous updates I removed the left and right navigation bars (they have been put back)
-- this version has a more modern look now (I could use a new logo if anyone has the skills)

3.7.6 - Fixed an issue handing some new items
3.7.5 - Removed LUA Memory feature no longer supported by the new client
3.7.4 - API bump + minor code changes
3.7.2 - API bump
3.7.1a - API bump
3.7.1 - fixed issue with item sorting by date being applied to time-frame summaries
3.7.1 - fixed issue with days being skipped when browsing using the < and > buttons

3.7 -- tightened up some core routines (mainly just optimizing)
3.6 -- just an API bump
3.5 -- I have added a section to the options screen to keep data for:

*Forever
*90 days
*60 days
*30 days

This was added as option so your database doesn't get too big with sales that are no longer relevant.

Old Stuff:

New Look! Large sections of code re-written!
  1. Future Patch Protection
  2. Duplicate Proof
  3. Faster (in all aspects)
  4. Database Maintenance & Health Checks on Start Up

reminder: don't forget about the options menu!

version 2.2.2 (1) - No functional changes just made my manifest file Fast API compatible.
version 2.2.3 - "protection mode" - I'm getting bad data from MM and I am trying to protect your DB so this release will only let you view your history until Phil and I can get things worked out.
version 2.2.4 - updated to work with the new patch - some history will be missing but should be picked up in the next version.
version 2.5.0 - transitioning to new format while supporting the old still. Nothing function has changed, it's all under the hood. Preparing for the future.

old change log info......

11/15/2014 - Initial release Version: v.08 (just the LUA engine for users to start collecting data).
------------- Version will be in sync at release, both programs will be 1.0
11/17/2014 - Cleaned up UI issues I didn't notice plus I added back in the key bind option
------------- I wasn't planning on any updates till 1.0 but I didn't realize the key bind was gone
11/24/2014 - Full version of GSA 1.0 the entire suite is released
------------- Please read the directions, watch the video and enjoy the offline tool
11/26/2014 - Added some items to the offline component that should have been in v 1.0
------------- Changed Average Price (in item selection) to Average Price Per Unit
------------- In the Options added the ability to factor in the 8% Guild Sales Tax to all your totals
------------- Added the ability to "uninstall" GSA so it goes through the 'first run' routine again (if needed)
12/01/2014 - Added in the two most requested features
------------- You can now filter by guild - it will show only results for the guild selected
------------- You can now get sales for a date range and not a single date
12/01/2014 - Bug fix and feature
------------- fixed issue where data range selection can go haywire
------------- added feature to backup your database
12/07/2014 - Utility release
------------- added a stand-alone tool to reset GSA (along with source)
12/11/2014 - Offline component optimized and given a "face lift"
------------- as stated in the forums this is a totally optional update.
12/17/2014 - Two new features added both make the program easier to use
------------- 1) on any "report screen" - daily, calendar chosen, etc - you can now double click the line
------------ item and it will take you directly to the detailed history for that product.
------------- 2) on the options screen you can now choose to ALWAYS have results sorted by
------------- date with newest sales listed first (no more double clicking the column header!
12/17/2014 - sorting code had opposite effect in sales reports - I have fixed it :-)
12/26/2014 - Report exporting to csv added
------------- Will use whatever program csv is associated to in Windows.
------------- Due to reports being hard to see I have reverted back to a simpler look
12/29/2014 - Report exporting to csv had a bug in the title it auto selected if you went from range to single date
------------- fixed the grid lines issue

I have multiple machines and this is how my grid (listview) lines look on different ones! (btw never use listview - GRIDVIEW only for those future .NET programmers).

example 1 (home pc)

example 2 (work pc)

It's nuts - well I figured out a solution - on the options page is a button you can toggle Gray or White

so at work I toggle Gray

and I get this now?!?!

I don't know whats up with .NET and the XP Visuals or No XP visuals or whatever but I'm sorry if you have not grid lines for a long time. I actually didn't know.

ok that is what's fixed in 1.5b - along with the report title issue.

(ps there is no difference betweeen 1.5a and 1.5b only, that it was slow enough for me to run our enterprise code analyzer on my app and make some optimization changes. Plus, fix some of my old VB6 style coding to better, more efficient syntax.)

01/15/2015 --All columns are now sortable, this now includes all monetary columns.
01/31/2015 --Updated backup option for archive data
------------- --Minor bug fixes on export csv names (there was a bug)
02/03/2015 --Fix a very hard to find bug that added new sales twice when you hit "reload data"
-------------- --Added arrows to the single day view so you can use buttons to browse easier
-------------- --very simple < previous day, > next day icons
02/05/2015 --added check for Patch 6 - this version should not be run with Patch 6
------------- --This version will protect you from harming your database
------------- --I have the Patch 6 version ready to go but I can not release until the patch
02/19/2015 -- the online component has been retired
------------- --Master Merchant is the new GUI / Data Collector for GSA
04/17/2015 -- Fixed a long standing issue with not all guilds being listed for sorting
------------- -- Added option to skip the ESO intro videos

Now that is funny, my grand daughter has printed out a bunch of letters about donating to animal shelters to save the pets. She is passing them out today and is hoping people take up the fight and help the animals. She is 8 going on 16 :-D

Thank you for the kind words.

Not everyone sees the value in this addon at first, or ever. And that's fine.

It does give me great pleasure when someone "gets it" - like a little light bulb goes off and you realize, hey this crazy thing is really useful

Knowing that you are happy with my work and I have added value and additional enjoyment to your ESO experience is all that I would ever need.

If you are happy, then I am happy!

so don't use it!!!! (this addon suffer an important lack !!!)

I'm not sure I 100% understand what you mean (I think there was a backhanded compliment in there, thanks, I guess, and two complaints?) .... but I NEVER intended to import all sales from any guild, ever.

That was stated from day 1 and I have achieved MY vision of the tool plus I added request for others that I don't use but they were real cool about it and I though their ideas were good.

Here I just opened GSA this morning.

If waking up and finding out you made 7 new sales and you are at 800,000+ gold in sales (so far) is lacking something, well then too bad.

I wrote the tool to assist in the way I sell. I adopted ideas from people I respected (Tony for example) and it's perfect, for me.

Because that's who I wrote it for me.

If you think it's suffering or lacking something then I don't know what to tell you. I suggest you delete the addon and move on. Go find another offline data collector and use that ..... oh wait .... there isn't one.

I don't know how many times I've said this - I hesitated to even make this addon public because. I didn't do this for ego, I don't even care if you use it. The proof of that is I fixed Shopkeeper (Classic) just to be nice to the users who missed it. My good will / good faith gesture to the community.

Why is that proof? You can NOT use Shopkeeper and GSA together.

Great idea - you write it and I'll come over an complain about.

tell me when it's done.

your are talking pre-export - in the report window?

I would have to look at the code but you may be right that column is designated as text and not integer.

I never noticed that.

Well it's not fixed in 1.5b either :-)

I will need to convert those columns to integers as they currently appear to be text.

I'll have a look at it this weekend and see how to fix this since the value starts off as an integer, then is converted to text to be put into the report window but I will have to convert back to integer when displayed.

I'm sure it can be done - just give me a bit to look into it.

I had always concentrated on sorting the date that I never noticed the integer issue, go figure.

I will fix it,

Without question you did the right thing!

I think in the future releases I will change the .exe to .vbs

I have found a few Norton emails to submit but do you have a specific suite or version? That is a question they ask that I don't have the answer to.

I use Norton 360 Version 21.6.0.32. Hope it helps.

Some links what WS.Reputation.1 really means:
http://www.symantec.com/security_res...021223-0550-99
http://www.symantec.com/connect/blog...-created-equal

In other words it is just very generic detection with high ratio of false positives.

In order to avoid such detection you can send file to their virus lab:
https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/

There are many really small criterias which makes file more or less trustworthy. Automatical detection can take in account almost everything from digital singature, used complier, used libraries, file's icon, texts, compression/obfuscation, ...

Anyway, before you release a new version of executable file it's always a good idea to check if there are any false positives on sites like: www.virustotal.com, www.metascan-online.com, www.virscan.org, virusscan.jotti.org or avcaesar.malware.lu.

Though if you look at the folder it's in "\if you pick the wrong folder during install\" is kind of a dead giveaway that it's to fix a mistake.

Strange enough - this exact same code is in the program if you hit Options - Uninstall. Go figure.

Working in .NET it's a convenience for the user and the programmer to create a key in HKCU\Software and then when you choose the savedvariables folder - it stores it there so it doesn't have to ask you again. That is also where is stores all the options you choose.

If you run regedit and browse to:

you can see all your settings. I find using the registry much easier and faster than an old school .ini file. It's actually considered "best practices" as per Microsoft.

I'm not sure how to reassure you actually other than let you know that it's harmless.

That tool is only there if you make a mistake and it only deletes the key I created.

I only have my word and my reputation and I value them both highly.

There is nothing in that little tool that would hurt your computer.

It only resets the GSA keys if you wanted it to.

I hope this did not cause you any anxiety, my apologies if it did.

I expected as much, just wish I knew how you could contact Norton and get the file to pass. I will look some more after holiday maybe i can find who you can talk to over there. I just told Norton to ignore the file. But others may not understand how some of these files work. Just thought you should know.

Not to worry - it's 100% false positive.

BigM,

The gsa-reset-tool accesses the registry and removes the GSA keys in case you make a mistake during the install - (the source for the tool is included in the zip and folder). Lots of people in the beginning were not selecting their saved variables folder correctly so I created the tool.

For the curious - here it is in Pastebin

That folder also contains an image of the tool:

Norton is using a heuristic algorithm and it's tuned so high that just seeing code that could remove keys from the registry set it off.

I can submit it to Norton or I could have just included it as a .vbs but the tool seemed much more user friendly.

You are very welcome.

It's SO NICE to get feedback from someone who "gets it" -- it's such a HUGE advantage when selling and buying that not using it is a disadvantage.

Unfortunately, based on my very unscientific calculations only about 12% of the people who install this addon actually setup the "offline" component.

Honestly, if they are doing that then they would be better served to just use Shopkeeper (Classic).

Like you said, GSA also had a HUGE impact on my guild sales.
I don't even bother to try and convince anyone anymore.
They either try it or they don't.
The fewer that do just means more gold for us :-)

Thank you for appreciating the time and dedication I put into this. It's nice to hear.

While developing this I had GREAT ideas and feedback from my beta team. (hit the ! icon in the top left corner) - they deserve a lot of credit for how well it runs and how useful it is.

As to the complexity I think that's apples and oranges. I don't think it's any more or less complex than any other addon it's just unique (which I think is what turns most people away).

I thank and respect any author that adds value to ESO regardless if they wrote one line or 3,000 lines of code. Mine just happens to be partly in .Net.

Thanks again for your feedback - it really makes my day when I hear from someone who "gets it"
