Just extract and start it, it will find your "SavedVariables" folder automatically (at least it does for me).
Else put it into the c:\users\...\documents\elder scrolls online\live\AddOns\Destinations folder e.g.
In there needs to be a file named Destinations.lua containing a table of scanned quest data.

You need to ENABLE the quest colleciton of the data ingame in the "Destionations" addon settings first! Else there won't be created any table containing the needed data.

Important:
LOGOUT before using the extractor or an ingame loading screen might invaidate the SavedVariables file and destroy your data again.

?

Important!

No instructions on where to put this addon in the directory?

Tried:
...\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns
...\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\Destinations

All I get is that there is no quest data to be found

Can you please put installation instructions on, either the Addon Info. page of this site or in a short readme file in the archive. This frustration has resulted in me deleting this addon ... something that should be simple being made into something totally frustrating, which is a shame because I truly wanted to help here.

Having the same issue here with this error message.
I have my ESO installed in a folder on another hdd, not C:/. If that helps.

Update: Also it displays this error: No Quest Giver data was found.
when I hit the scan button.

But it does detect ESO running when I have it running and the Extractor too.

Fishing Positions

I'm finding a lot of fishing holes not shown with the addon, how can I go about getting those added in? Should it be the same process as adding in quest giver postions? I'm coming up with nothing when scanning. Never done this before, sorry.

Important information!

As of today Ayantir has taken over maintaining Destinations Extractor.

This means that you should contact Ayantir with data and/or any requests and information from now on.

May the gods of Tamriel be with you all.

I'm probably doing something wrong, as I am new to addons and to the game.
Is it possible for you to explain me how do I make this work?

Thanks in advance
Make sure you have the setting for saving questgiver positions set (it's OFF by default) to ON in the addon settings. It's at the bottom in the section Questgiver Positions.
Also note, that Destinations SHOULD autodetect if a quest and questgiver is already known, and IF they are, it will not save any data.
You can use my debug command in chat to see what actually happens:
/dqin
Note that debugging is turned off every time you logout or do a reloadui.

UPD:
Destinations appeared in Addon Settings after reinstall, but the error message persists.

UPD 2:
Fixed with the latest update.
It sounds like I did SOMETHING right after all then

With Destinations 1.7.18, installed via Minion. Tried running from inside and outside addon directory.

UPD: And AVG detects the .exe as a threat, but it's normal for this kind of applications iirc.
Strange. What it looks for is the saved variables file.
I assume you have used Destinations ingame before running the extracter?
You also remembered to flip the switch for saving quest data under Quest Giver Positions to ON (at the bottom)?
It's interesting that AVG see it as a threat as it didn't always do that. It did at some point but I reported it as a false positive and they corrected it in a later update. Guess they changed it again.
It runs and detects my installation fine. I can even preview my gathered quest data. Note that I use Avast, but I think that shouldn't matter.
