EmoteToy  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5
by: Lemon King [More]
TESO UI Version 100003 breaks support for EmoteToy so I'll no longer be updating the addon.

A very simple addon that enables easy use of NPC emotes with standard emote phrases.
There are 68 newly added emotes and you can access them all with the command with the newly added emotes below or using /e###.
/e### command range is between 1 - 254.

All emotes can be displayed in chat with /et_list.

/powersword

In both cases I get the emotes from the game API by parsing GetEmoteName( id ), if I recall correctly (I'm at work currently), and then uses PlayEmote( id ) to play the emote when the button/drop-down is clicked (or the keybind is presses, in the case of the 1st twelve macros).

Anyone looking for Emote support could use either of those two addons. However, I'm of the opinion this addon could easily be updated to continue support for the default emotes (of which there are over 170).
The API changes blocked emotes that the dev team didn't want players to have access to OUTSIDE of scripted events, the normal slash emotes would work just fine.

Secondly its one thing to advertise your addon, its another to advertise your addon in someone else's space without first asking permission.
Wow, seriously? You say you will not be updating your add-on any longer and then go postal and one of the best add-on designers on this website. Ego much?
No Ego, I'm not a fan of users that promote their stuff on other people's addon pages without asking.
If he asked, I would have most likely said yes.

I pointed to the addons A, to show that not all emote addons were broke, and B because this is abandoned and to redirect people that want similar functionality. Unabandon the project, I'll edit the post. I really don't care who's addon people use, I'm just trying to help the masses.

I know but WHY? Were people complaining about this? I get the complaints about addons that give players special gameplay advantages but this? Seems like a weird and pointless limitation.
EmoteToy allowed (well the API did) animations that shouldn't be played outside of a very specific context - such as /levitatespin as an example. While not major, it certainly shouldn't be allowed and is immersion breaking for other players. Just IMHO.

Well, it had to happen.

Thanks to all that enjoyed it.

This addon is a tremendous amount of fun!

Will you be adding even more emotes that the NPCs use, such as the 'coin flip', 'playing with fire', or the stand where you have your hands crossed behind your back?

Many thanks and keep up the great work!

not working

I can see the add-on in my Add-ons list in game, but none of the commands are working.

[UPDATE] The download had a -4 at the end of the name. When it was unzipped the folder was the same name. I renamed the folder and took off the -4 at the end so the name was just EmoteToy and it is working now.

Is there any hope of getting emotes for the sitting in chairs animation that NPCs do?
