Cashier:
This addon will display a listing of your characters and the amount of gold
they have in thier own inventory. You must loggin with each character to get
them loaded into the saved file. You can assign a hotkey to open and close the
window or you can use /cashier command to hide/show the window.
Added ledger. For ledger to work correctly, Cashier must be enabled on all characters.
The balance tracking is only done on 1 computer, so multiple computers will not
show correct stats.
Please post any comments suggestions/bugs to

FWIW, I don't recall seeing that the window size can be changed in the configuration, but I will check it out. The window is rather large, as it is, but maybe making the window an inch or so wider won't affect anything else.

Cashier is loaded on all five of the characters which exist, and I have only one computer with which to play TESO. But I do not always open its display while I am playing that character, whether I should do that.

You do not need to have either the cashier or ledger window showing for them to track. They will track as long as the addon is enabled. They do not need to be showing. I only open the ledger myself when I want to see the transactions. I made this program because I have many alts, and it was hard to remember who had how much money on them. This made it easier to find out. (for horse training and such)

This is odd. I tested what you were saying and did not find any errors. I followed the code and the program gets the bank balance directly from the game not a saved variable, so I am not sure why you see this difference.

On occasion, when I open its window, Cashier reports a BANK ERROR and the balance is less than the most recent balance recorded after I chose to make a deposit or withdrawal. So far, though, the balance Cashier reports has always also been less than the Bank balance on the HUD. So it does not seem that any funds are missing. If the character deposits or withdraws GP, then the balance reported by Cashier will be the same as the balance reported by the Bank UI on the HUD. .... I'm still thinking about this.

I have seen this error myself. I will add an error check into the code to resolve this problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • It is easier to track deposits and withdrawals if the date and time stamp data begin the line, followed by the character's name.
  • I suggest that you leave the words "New Bank" out of the text, or use the shorter word "Current" instead, but that might not shorten the line enough. So you could end it with "Balance Now: " or just the word "Balance:".
  • Instead of the string " = " at the end, just end the text with a colon and blank space after the last word. For example, "... Current Balance: ddddddd", "... Balance Now: ddddddd", or just "... Balance: ddddddd".
By the way, all changes which the add-on flags as a BANK ERROR are not necessarily an error. Most of them appear to be updates as a result of a deposit or withdrawal by a character which is not currently being tracked. I suggest that the line begin with "NOTICE:" instead (because it is shorter and signifies that the data displayed afterward is what Cashier has found the prior activity and the current Balance to be).

Thank you very much for your time and attention to my suggestions. Cashier promises to be a very useful add-on with regard to monitoring whether the ZOS record-keeping is accurate and correct.

Re: What I would like to see in a Cashier (or Cash Journal) Add-on.

I have added a ledger window to the addon. It is the best I can do for you. Just make sure to keep the addon enabled on all of your toons and it should alert you if your bank balance changes. Good luck.

I've had GP missing from my character Bank account at least four times which came to my attention during the past 8 months. There might have some occasions that I overlooked.

What I need is a simple "checkbook register", or Cash Journal which records, for each deposit and for each withdrawal, respectively:
  1. The date and time the transaction occurred.
  2. The name of the character.
  3. The number of Gold Pieces deposited (+) or withdrawn (-).
  4. The balance of the account after the transaction is effected.
The data could be recorded in a file stored in \SavedVariables from which it could be retrieved and reviewed by the player. You might want to have a limit on the size, such as the 100 most recent transactions.

Believe it or not, apparently this is something that the ZOS support team does not have. They can retrieve a list of recent transactions, but not the beginning or ending balance in the account, or the change in the balance when the transaction was recorded.

Thank-you for your time and attention to this request. Frankly, I do not know whether it is possible to create the record that I described with the current add-on API. If I had the knowledge and skill, or had the time to acquire it, then I would develop such an add-on myself. But it is not currently feasible for me to undertake such a project.
