SorcererHelper
An addon for sorcerers that gently reminds you to keep your minions and buffs up, and alerts you when your abilities (like Crystal Fragments) proc.

Features
  • Two types of icons: Reminders and Alerts, in two different windows
  • Alert icons are twice the size of Reminder icons
  • Reminders and Buffs can be individually turned on or off
  • Alerts display a countdown of seconds remaining
  • Option to hide reminders when in menus - New in 1.1.9!
  • Current Reminders:
    • Summons (Familiar/Clannfear and Winged Twilight)
    • Mage's Light
    • Bound Armor
  • Current Alerts:
    • Crystal Fragments
    • Surge
    • Lightning Form
    • Expert Hunter (experimental)
    • Daedric Curse - New in 1.1.9!
  • Does not load on non-sorcerer characters

Controls
  • Left-click and drag to reposition the windows (for Alerts, it's easiest to set "Show repositioning help" to ON in the settings)
  • You can turn off a feature if you do not want or need it in the settings panel

Known Issues
  • Expert Hunter tracking is experimental; it more than likely does nothing.
  • Crystal Fragments countdown does not reset if it re-procs - I can't think of a way to detect that.
  • Daedric Curse timer tracks from when it was cast, not from when it affects the target. As such, it might be off by a second or two depending on the distance to the target.

Hello, i play Sorcerer since the beginning. I always hoped to see one day addon like one in Warhammer Online. Your addon is very close to that but few things are missing. If it would be possible to crystal fragment proc have icon fade in and fade out on a movable frame... If it would work, could you add another timed buffs like Critical Surge, Lightning Form, etc.
When they are up, icon fade in on a certain spot, when expires fade out... possibe timer as well.

There used to be an add-on like this when I ran with my NB. Now that I rolled a sorc I was desperately looking for something like this and so THANK YOU so much! Very happy to see this is back.

I know this isn't specific to sorc's but it is very often used by them and especially when in daedra and undead infested waters, but how about extending this to Expert/Evil Hunter ability in the fighters guild skill line? This is a buff that lasts up to 15 seconds and extends for each killing another 15 seconds giving huge magic damage to undead and daedra. Currently it is impossible to see if it is active or not and an on-screen notifier when it is up or the reverse, when it needs to be re-cast, would be hugely helpful for us Sorcs!

Since the framework is already in place for summoned minions this seems like a no-brainer to extend it to expert/evil hunter.

Agreed, both of these would be very nice to have as well. Good call! Combined with Expert/Evil hunter support, this would be a must-have add-on for any sorcerer!

2 question:
-Is possible replace the default icon with some .dds ?
-is possible, in future, take trace of "Might of Mage Guild" buff of 8 sec (last passive), after use one of the 4+1 abilities (mage guild) ?

I've added your requests to my feature request list, and will be looking at implementing them for an upcoming version. Thank you!

As for replacing the icon with another .dds, it's possible but not currently something I plan on doing.

love the addon its like a spin off of my PetMatience addon lol one thing ive noticed tho is its causing excessive lag in-game unfortunately .. i didn't notice it tho until i got into elden root with alot of players and npcs around, was gettting lag jots every 2-3 seconds it must be scanning too much lol

hope it helps bug shoot ... submited A bug report for you also

Thanks for the report, I noticed the lagging myself and rewrote the addon earlier today to use events to check for ability changes; this should lessen the processing work needed quite a bit.

Please try out version 1.0.1 and let me know if it helps the issue.

It has nothing to do with the saved variables, it has everything to do with you not error checking properly...

Line 73 is the line which contains this:

SorcererHelper3:SetDimensions(64,64)

Most likely that control isn't created at that point in time (thus trying to access a nil value) You should probably check that each control isn't nil before using it... (it's easy to do btw, all you have to do is add "if SorcererHelper3 ~= nil then" before using the control, and "end" after it...)

Which was rather puzzling since the code IS wrapped in an if-block that won't run unless the parent control is created; turned out it was a case of me not realizing I was trying to attach it to another TLW - one which doesn't necessarily exist (since it can be toggled off in the addon options).

Either way, it should be fixed now.
