Frees the mouse for UI interaction, in case ZO aren't in a hurry to bring that feature back.

Go into Controls/Keybindings/General/User Interface to map a key to liberate your mouse.

NOTE: mapping a mouse button doesn't work as well as mapping a keyboard key. That's because releasing the button acts as interacting with UI elements, and if you release it over the 3D world, you lose the UI interaction mode. So, if you NEED to bind to a mouse button, just remember to hold the button to enable the cursor, move it onto some non-3D UI window, and only THEN release. It'll register the mouse-up action there, and will not go back into crosshair mode.

BTW, this addon's Bindings.xml file demonstrates how to put custom bindings in an already existing category in the keybindings window.

Question Other languages

It seems that bindings only work if the layer name in the bindings.xml has the language specific name.
For the english version <Layer name="General"> is fine, but in the german version it has to be <Layer name="Allgemein">, I guess it is the same problem in french.

Is it possible to check the client language first and set the layer name correctly?

That's exactly why I added "(FreeMouse addon)" in color to the setting label. Two birds, one stone

Nice trick with the bindings.xml

Personally I prefer the user to know that their binding to my addon but I can see how this might be useful at some point.

Nice find on the mouse command too. Took me a while to find the right command myself, without the /ChatLog to dump commands to freely.
