Price Tracker Updated  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.6.3
by: Garkin, uladz
Updated version of Barvazon's Price Tracker.

Description:

General Info
Price Tracker is a simple addon that scans all your guild stores and tracks items and their prices. It then calculates and shows a suggested price on the item tooltip, as well as the minimum and maximum prices and the number of times the item was seen in the stores.

The suggested price can be calculated in several ways (which can be selected in the settings menu):
  • Average: Simple sum of all prices divided by total number of items.
  • Median: The price value for which half of the items cost more and half cost less.
  • Most Frequently Used: The most common price value.
  • Weighted average: (default) The average price of all items which takes in account "Time Value Of Gold". The latest data gets a weighting of X, where X is the number of days the data covers, thus making newest data worth more. Formula is adapted from Khaibit's Shopkeeper.

How to Use:
Initially, all the guild stores have to be inspected in order for the addon to work properly. Simply go to a banker, open the Guild Store menu and click on the 'Scan Prices' button on the left-hand side. This will take a while, depending on how many guild stores are available, and how many items are listed in each guild store. During the scanning process, the 'Scan Prices' button will be disabled. It will be reenabled once all the guild stores have been scanned.

After that, simply select an item in your bag, and if the item is listed in a guild store, it will show the suggested price.

Updating Prices
Occasionally, click on the 'Scan Prices' button again to update the price list with newly listed items.

How to report a bug?
  • The best would be to file an issue on github because this is where all the action happens. One wau or another all reported issues will end up there.
  • Another option is to post a comment on the addon comments page. I monitor the page and will get a notification once you post something there.
  • And of course you can send me PM @uladz. You have any questions, issue, suggestions - don't hesitate to reach me out.

Changes in "Updated" version:
  • Updated LibAddonMenu-2.0 (r16)
  • Updated LibStub (r2)
  • Moved "Scan Price" button so it will not interfere with AwesomeGuildStore (this is used from Price Tracker (revised by) Draconeran)
  • Improved tooltip format
  • Changed Weighted Average formula to put more weight on recent prices (formula is adapted from from Khaibit's Shopkeeper)
  • Added simple Average formula
  • Fixed code for Most Frequently Used formula
  • Added slider to choose how long you want keep prices in history (default value is 60 days)

  • Added tooltip information to charge/enchant/research item lists (ZO_ListDialog?ListContents)
  • Removed debug message for quest items (ZO_PlayerInventoryQuestContents)

Highly Recommended

As a person who never bothered with tool tip info, this addon changed my mind.

I was lucky enough to get an early copy to try and Garkin is being too modest in my option.

This isn't Price Tracker Updated, that downplays the changes he made.

This is Price Tracker Improved.

I am back to the game since July and Im looking for a guildstore addon to replace GSSE, but I have some doubts about this addon and so many others that came out in the last months Ive been mia.

What are the differences between PTU, Deomes DataDaedra and Shopkeeper? All three of them do the same or am I mistaken? I need a max/avg/min price tracking addon that shows that info in the items tooltip, wich I think is what all 3 do. Well, I already installed PTU and I know it, at least, does.

Does any of the three also let you scan and save all guild stores sales and search for an item in the whole db later like GSSE used to?

Im using AwesomeGuildStore along with PTU and so far so good, but I miss the GSSE feature to save crossguilds sales dbs.

Finding this is only addon you really need. those other just end up giving you more than you really need. I always thought addons were suppose to be easy and to the point of what you want. This one gives me exactly what I want from it, prices. Bank manager revived is also great for moving things to bank or player.

Question Wrong Guild Name

Hi Garkin,

first and foremost, thank you for your incredible work on all the add-ons you are maintaining.

I have a request for this add-on:
With the Guild Store merchants, it is possible to scan much more stores than just those where you're a member. The problem is, the name of the last selected guild is used while storing the results, and not the name of the merchants guild. Could you correct this behaviour?

Thanks, Tom

Any shot at somehow adding WHERE that kiosk was? I know it could have moved, but sometimes in a tooltip I see something weird. For example I scanned some kiosk prior to the fixed patch where someone was selling a Kuta for 100 gold. I wanted to scoop it up. The Guild name would've help, but location would be even more helpful. Not sure where that would fit without starting to look clunky.

Ey, thanks for the reply QuadroTony. As far as I understand reading about those addons, Shopkeeper Classic and GSA (and GSA offline), they do record sales (items already sold) done in your guilds and your own sold items, but thats not what I meant.

I meant to save all the "currently on sale" items that everybody has put in your guilds, along with their price, and save them to a database so you can search that db ingame (like GSSE did) to look for the item you want to buy and not having to use the subcategory for each guild and look for the item in a hundred pages.

I am sorry if any of them also does that function but I could not say by reading their info pages.

Are you under the impression GSSE is no longer working?

I am using it right now :-) -- plus if you use awesome guild store with it you get filters.

it works like this - set your filter in Awesome Guild Store - we'll pick clothing, purple - search once - let it finish

then run retrieve in GSSE and it will collect from ALL your guild stores whatever filter you set in AGS :-)

so in this happy accident AGS is a filter for GSSE ... it's the greatest.

Garkin thanks for your work on this. It's excellent. It quickly helps me keep my items priced competitively.

EDIT:
Is there any way to make PriceTracker recognize item quality. For example, right now if you scan a blue throat scales of the viper and a purple one, it will see them as the same item.

Yes, it's possible to check item quality when looking for matches. I will make an update today.

EDIT:
Known bug - when you leave guild, filtering by guild doesn't work properly because guildIds will be different.

Am I the only one having an endless loop scan when I press "Scan Prices"?

It will start scanning the current guild Im in, but then start all over again with the same one once it completes. I have let it run and it has done it 5 times with Traders of Ebonheart.

I have the addon set to scan all guilds in the addon options. I just made a clean ESO install this week and all the mods were fresh installed as well, so Im pretty sure its not a savedvariables problem.

Im using it along with AwesomeGuildStore and GSSE (which, by the way, does exactly the same).

each guild has multiple pages - ESO only allows you 100 items per page

it has to go page by page - no way around it
