Inventory Insight  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.12
by: manavortex, AssemblerManiac
One Inventory for all of the characters on your account!

What does it do?
  • tracks everything in your characters' Bags, Bank, Guild Banks, and CraftBag
  • keeps track of the Gold / AP / Telvar Stones / Writ Vouchers for each character
  • keeps track of the space used/available for each character
  • allows filtering your inventory by item type
  • lets you search the items by name, or by set name
  • adds data to item tooltip showing you where that item is located (all popups/tooltips, or only from the Inventory Insight window)

Recently added features:
  • Right click menu to link in chat (doubleclicking an item still works)
  • Right click menu option to find all missing pieces of a motif from the current list
  • Motif check is now two right click options. One for local, one for Chat. Both generate a link for the achievement with "known"/"unknown" chapters based on what's missing from the list
  • Motif check also doesn't require filter to single motif anymore, it's based on whatever style you right clicked, and only that one
  • Can be configured to put the item location information directly into the tooltip, or leave it in the extra frame like previous versions
  • Right click menu now has two quick filter options, filter by item name and filter by set name
  • Writ Voucher count is now part of the Gold info popup (rightmost column)

Known Issues:
/AddOns/IIfA/IIfA.lua:{some line}: attempt to index a nil value
stack traceback: user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfA.lua:{some line}: in function 'IIfA_onLoad'
Caused by residual files in the folder. Please completely reinstall the add-on!

2.12
- Changed the way the Missing Motifs feature works (creates link for achieve, and 2 options now)
- New right click options (filter by item name, filter by set name)
- Improved text search processing (a "-" in Twice-born star doesn't fail to find anything anymore)
- Added writ vouchers to Gold Info popup

2.11
- Right click options for Link to chat and missing motif processing (when you're trying to build a set before learning it OR already know it and are building a set for someone else)

2.9
- New setting (Search Set Names) to control how the text filter works. If on, typing in the search filter will also show items with set names (it's additive, so it works by item name OR set name).
- New item on the list GUI. Directly above the text search area, there's a checkbox "Filter on Set Name only". When checked, ONLY items from Named Sets (crafted or dropped) will appear in the list, and any text in the search box will be looked for only in set names, not the name of an item.

2.8
- Sub filters added for furnishing items (limited use until ZoS sets the item type properties correctly)
- Heavy hands now shows up again in the "All" list (Thanks Danno8)
- Several other misc items that were missing when filtered have returned

2.7a
Added a filter category for furnishing items

2.7
- existing filters fixed (they should all be working exactly as they should)
- added sub filter for Recipes - now lets you filter on Food, Blueprint, Praxis, etc.
- new icons for added motifs, updated motif text to match real names
- items are renamed at every login, and after reloadui. If you change language, the names on the items will now reflect that change, instead of only after one has been removed from everywhere and re-added

2.6
- unofficial release

2.5a
New icons for Maomer and Hollowjack

2.5:
- Nil reference in startup squashed
- When filtering by materials, style mats now show up
- When filtering by Armor, gloves now show up
- No longer an out of date AddOn
- Item counts when transferring into backpack now get updated (or out, when a count is changing and doesn't end up zero)

Still need to make it possible to track items OUT of backpack when count becomes zero. Also will be adding timed update to repaint the display if it's not hidden while bulk transfers are in progress.

2.3: Can now display currency across your characters.
New icons for Ebony and Ashlander Styles.

2.2: Code cleanup

2.1: Added subfilters

2.0a:
Included a minor bugfix where amounts wouldn't be displayed correctly at the crafting station

1.9:
Fixed the style textures again - also, style of worn items will now be displayed correctly! Yay!
Included LibCustomTitles.

I've already got it working with the extended bank space, but I'd be interested in seeing your solution as well.

I'm hoping to release it this weekend (real life has been very busy in the past couple weeks and didn't have time to work on it till recently).

MagiczneTornado: having items vanish? Never seen that happen, if you can reliably reproduce it, I'm listening.

There is something wrong with scanning guild bank for items.

Sorry i cant explain more atm. At one moment i can see how much ingots i have in guild bank but it wont show how many ancestor silk i have. I go back to bank, open guild bank. Close it. Now IIFA shows how many ingots i have but suddenly all the silk dissapeared from database.

Thanks for this great addon!
But I'm also using v2.5a because of this stutter. Any chance to fix it in future?
Don't know how I can be more clear on this. I'm not seeing any problems with opening containers, and nothing changed that should have caused anything like this.

Does it happen if IIFA is the only addon running?
Yes. It also happens when IIFA is the only active addon.
Try this: Press [ESC], when zooming in there is a stutter in the middle of the animation. Same when zooming out. This also happens when pressing [i], [c], [g], [j], and other keys.
The last version that did not cause that stuttering was 2.5a.

Thank you Manavortex Awesome! That thread looks like an interesting read... I'll be reading it now

Not looking forward to Morrowind myself, but at least I'll be glad if it fixes some errors

Best wishes!

Random UI call permission errors while handling inventory items

Heya all,

I posted this in the official forums and I was kindly redirected here as the particular stack dump I have shows a function from Inventory Insight as a starting point.

I'm trying to figure out what causes this error, so my intention is not saying the error is *caused* by Inventory Insight, no no, it may not be the real culprit... just trying to find clues as to what is causing it and maybe uncover some kind of interaction that is happening between some addons... maybe?

Here's the error dump I get in-game:

Code:
EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:2325: attempt to access a private function 'PickupInventoryItem' from insecure code
stack traceback:
	EsoUI/Ingame/Inventory/InventorySlot.lua:2325: in function '(anonymous)'
	EsoUI/Ingame/Utility/ZO_SlotUtil.lua:14: in function 'RunHandlers'
	(tail call): ?
	(tail call): ?
	(tail call): ?
	IIFA_ListItem_1_DragStart:4: in function '(main chunk)'
Context for this:

It happens only on one of my characters and always the same one: It's my crafter/trader character and always happens after I login into her the first time. In particular, is the last character I log on to when quickly switching chars to receive the hireling mails, in case it matters.

But it's random, so sometimes happens and sometimes I don't see the error in a whole game session.

Never ever happened in a different character, and all my characters are using the *same* addon list.

In this case the error was triggered by trying to drag a stack of items to combine it with another stack, but the most common cause of the error I get is when I finish my crafting writs and try to open the reward boxes.
In that case the stack dump is different, of course, and I don't have one of those sadly, and I'm almost positive sure that in that case it doesn't have any addon code in sight (in the dump itself, I mean.) and since is the most common error I see I never was able to pinpoint it to any addons.

This problem always gets fixed after using /reloadui, or loggin off and reloggin.

If anyone knows anything about this error, I'll be grateful. And I'll be glad to help in any way I can, if it is indeed something that needs fixing somewhere.

First thing first, I'll try to catch one of the stack dumps from the error when I open the reward boxes, in case it's needed.

Thank you for the patience reading this! And THANK YOU! for making this awesome addon... love it, and could never play the game without it

Lightbulb Missing Motifs explanation

Hi everyone.

Right click menu (in IIFA only) now has 2 options for the Missing Motifs feature. First option posts the info to the local chat window, the second places text in the chat edit area.

What both of these do is go through your currently visible inventory and look for all chapters of the selected Motif (by motif number), and creates a list of missing chapters. This list gets turned into an Achieve link, and also gets put at the end of the text.

This feature does NOT refer to what you actually know, only what's visible in the current inventory window. The achieve popup link it creates is NOT dependent on what you know, it's created dynamically based on what was/wasn't found in the inventory list.

Results look like this in local chat win:
Missing [Akaviri Motif] chapters: Belts, Boots, Shoulders, Swords

Pasted into chat text:
Looking for [Akaviri Motif] missing chapters: Belts, Boots, Shoulders, Swords

None missing just prints: "No motif chapters missing"

Not a motif: "Invalid Item. Right-Click ignored."

Motif, but doesn't have chapters: "[Crafting Motif 8: Orc Style] is not a valid motif chapter"

This feature came about because I collect all the motif chapters before learning them. Not learning them right away also allows me to swap one with someone who's closer to completion than I am. After the chapter numbers were removed from the item name, it got a lot harder to track them and was driving me nuts keeping track. This also allows you to more easily collect a full set that's already known (for gift, or donation to an auction) since you can't rely on the achieve popup.

Now everyone gets to benefit from my personal desire for easy motif chapter tracking.

Hope this is clear enough,

cheers!

Say I get a potentially useful piece of gear like a Divines or Impen piece of a good set, and someone asks me for this item. I want to check if I already have it. Or when saving/deconstructing/vendoring gear, it'd be great to have a quick way to check if I have this gear piece already in the same or better trait, ideally via a keybind for efficiency or at least the right-click context menu. Or to further improve upon this, a second option to quickly filter for the set of the item.

Optimally this would also work on items linked in chat, so you could quickly check if you need the divine piece your teammate got.
Interesting concept. Are you talking about filtering for an item that's an exact match, matched by name, by trait, by level? All of these things matter since storage of the items is by item link, and fishing out all the pieces to do partial compares is messy, and not very speed friendly.
I'm thinking, you could just take the name of the item in question and prefill the filter field with the name, that way it'd show you all "Jack of the Two-Fanged Snake" pieces you have, in all traits. Then another option maybe, to filter for the set name "Twice-Fanged Serpent" in-case you have any unique pieces of the set that wouldn't show up by name, or you just want to see which all pieces of the set you have.

That'd do the trick, and I imagine not too difficult to implement in this fashion.

A lot of the time I find myself typing in names of items that I'm looking at in my inventory, wishing there was a faster way to check if I want to keep it or not, based on what I already have.

No problem, thanks for the feedback SilverWF.

Each "not needed" functionality was added upon request and because I like and use a lot of them
The lag is happening only once for me after a login, and as there are many other addons that work together with FCOIS (or simply scan the inventory even without FCOIS) it's probably like Manavortex said: Its a combination of several addons.
If I simply enabled FCOIS as a standalone I got a hardly noticeable lag upon opening my inventory.

Sadly, I dislike FCOIS - it's overweighted addon with shitton of extremely hard and not really needed functions. I even have a lag in opening backpack with it. Basically - it's a huge overkill for me to use that addon.

Anyway, thx for answer!

It's FCOIS in combination with certain gear managers that is causing the lag. It's not the only culprit.
Also, overhaul is in progress. I wouldn't want to live without.
