Inventory Insight  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.16
by: manavortex, AssemblerManiac
One Inventory for all of the characters on your account!

BETA version: FCO Item Saver support
Download it from Baertram's dropbox if you want to try it out, or grab it directly from github.

What does it do?
  • tracks everything in your characters' Bags, Bank, Guild Banks, and CraftBag
  • keeps track of the Gold / AP / Telvar Stones / Writ Vouchers for each character
  • keeps track of the space used/available for each character
  • allows filtering your inventory by item type
  • lets you search the items by name, or by set name
  • adds data to item tooltip showing you where that item is located (all popups/tooltips, or only when over the Inventory Insight window)

Recently added features:
  • Now tracks items in the extended bank for ESO+ subscribers (it's still in 'Bank', but now it won't disappear or have no name in it's location)
  • Right click menu to link in chat (double-clicking an item still works)
  • Right click menu option to find all missing pieces of a motif from the current list
  • Motif check is now two different right click options. One for local, one for Chat. Both generate a link for the achievement with "known"/"unknown" chapters based on what's missing from the displayed list
  • Motif check also doesn't require filter to single motif anymore, it's based on whatever style you right clicked, and only that one
  • Can be configured to put the item location information directly into the tooltip, or leave it in the extra frame like previous versions
  • Right click menu now has two quick filter options, filter by item name and filter by set name
  • Writ Voucher count is now part of the Gold info popup (rightmost column)

Backlog:
  • Track multiple accounts: Voodoo might be possible

Where do I send massive qtys of gold or mats?
We gladly accept donations:

Since we aren't running into that particular error - could you copy the LibAsync folder from PotionMaker/libs into the other AddOns (or just replace the file) and see if it still happens?
Another option would be a) a clean reinstall, or b) a saved variable wipe.
Replacing IIfA's version of LibAsync with PotionMaker's didn't help. I had considered the possibility that the newest 1.7 version of LibAsync in Potion Maker might be the issue, but since my ignorance of libraries was already on display here I favored your next suggestion instead. I tried eliminating the saved variables of all three of the those mods: Inventory Insight, Potion Maker, and Furniture Catalogue.

Through the dense fog of my flu symptoms it certainly looked this morning like that eliminated the error at the guild bank. If that is correct, then was one of the SavedVariables files corrupt or are there specific settings of one or more of the three mods that are required to elicit the error? That could take some time to figure out. What does corruption in a SavedVariables file look like?
It's possible that in some change of variable setup in IIfA (we tried to make changes transparent to the user so there was no need to reload all the data from each character), there was a conversion problem. Without seeing ALL of the IIfA saved vars, there's no way to tell exactly what was wrong (and even looking over several thousand items, might still never find it).

Glad your Inventory Insight is now working properly!

Yes, exactly that.

Sorry that it didn't help - if the problem persists after you tried the two other things, I would ask you to disable all other AddOns and check if it still happens.

You're completely right - libraries aren't downward compatible at all, though, and only the latest version gets loaded, that was what was so funny.
Wait: regardless which version of a library a mod embeds, if another mod embeds a more recent version of the same library, then that is what gets loaded and used for every mod that relies on it? That is what I heard you say, and if that's true then my presumptions about how libraries are used was wrong and so was my theory about the cause of the problem.

Is what I heard what you actually said?

After substituting LibAsync 1.7 from Potion Maker, same exact error:
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:35: user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: table index is nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: in function '(anonymous)'

I guess it's on to the other suggestions.

Normally, legacy call == lua error.

Got it. I didn't know if that was even safe to do; if the library changed significantly between those versions, then it might break the legacy calls to it, or so I thought. I'll try it, with backups.

It might - I hadn't noticed votan had updated, since the library is only released on an in-Potion-Maker-base. If it doesn't, please let us know, so we can test further!

Further survey of my installed and active mods shows that four make use of LibAsync: Inventory Insight, Potion Maker, and Furniture Catalogue; Votan's Minimap also uses it, but I merely have it installed and it is not enabled. So the three mods that I described earlier are the only ones that appear to be involved, assuming an issue with LibAsync is the proximal cause. There's a fifth mod that seems to reference and use LibAsync, if it exists independently, without embedding a copy: Harven's AS to LAM adapter. However, that mod like Votan's Minimap is merely installed and not enabled; I could never get it to work as intended to move Votan's mods' settings into Settings | Addons proper.

And my original suspicion about the cause still rings true: of those four mods that use LibAsync, there are three distinct versions being used. IIfA uses the oldest version, 1.4; Potion Maker uses the newest, 1.7; and both Furniture Catalogue and Votan's Minimap use version 1.6 (which is curious because it was hinted earlier that Votan was the author of LibAsync).

I've looked for LibAsync at ESOUI.com, and it doesn't appear to be listed as a distinct mod, so I don't have the option of trying to install an independent copy of the latest version to see what effect that has. That also denies me a logical place to extend this conversation.

Would "syncing" the version of LibAsync used by these mods correct the issue?

After leaving IIfA enabled but disabling PotionMaker, I still received an error when accessing a guild bank but the error has changed:

user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:35: user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: table index is nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: in function '(anonymous)'
(tail call): ?
[C]: in function 'pcall'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:21: in function 'DoCallback'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:49: in function 'DoJob'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:99: in function 'Scheduler'
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'error'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:35: in function 'DoCallback'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:49: in function 'DoJob'
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:99: in function 'Scheduler'
So now it appears to implicate Furniture Catalogue instead, but is that really the culprit? I doubt it! What next if I also disable Furniture Catalogue? How deep does this rabbit hole go, Alice?

Curiously, it's only when IIfA is added to this LibAsync stack that things go awry: with both PotionMaker and Furniture Catalogue (and however many others using LibAsync) enabled everything is fine with no errors, but IIfA breaks the camel's back. Why?

I re-enabled IIfA out of curiosity and received this error when interacting with a guild bank of all places:

user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:35: user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: table index is nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/IIfA/IIfADataCollection.lua:109: in function '(anonymous)'
(tail call): ?
[C]: in function 'pcall'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:21: in function 'DoCallback'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:49: in function 'DoJob'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:100: in function 'Scheduler'
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'error'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:35: in function 'DoCallback'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:49: in function 'DoJob'
user:/AddOns/PotionMaker/Libs/LibAsync/LibAsync.lua:100: in function 'Scheduler'
This is the error that I mentioned earlier that caused me to disable IIfA. It seems to revolve around LibAsync; if I recall from my brief examination at the time, there was a mismatch in the versions of it that IIfA and PotionMaker were using. I stopped receiving the error entirely after disabling IIfA. I did not try disabling PotionMaker at the time instead; I was rushed and made a value judgement that PotionMaker was more crucial to me. I will try that. Would installing LibAsync independently have some positive effect?
