BuddyWindow
Version: 1.1
by: skyraker [More]
A simple window that displays changes to the status of your guild mates and friend list members.

Version 1.0 is complete. I did not get to everything I wanted to do before releasing it as this. The main change with this version is a complete redo of the settings menu to use LibAddonMenu-2. This cuts down on much of the code.

Currently tracks:
  1. Login/Logoff
  2. Leveling
  3. Zone Changes
  4. Guild Rank Changes
  5. Switching Characters
  6. Available/AFK/DND

This is still a beta version, so changes will be made.

Users who had FriendTest downloaded will want to uninstall that addon and install this one as this is the latest version.
Version 1.1: Updated API

Version 1.0: Updated to using LibAddonMenu-2. Updated API version.

Version 0.91 - Updated API version (apparently I use the version number somewhere in the file because it didn't like 0.9.1)

5/22/14: Updated API version

Version 0.9 - Added ability to select sounds for each type of event

Version 0.7 - Cleaned up code. Added settings selector to enable/disable notices of friends or guildmates.

Version 0.6 - Changed name from FriendTest to BuddyWindow

For those who still use this, I've updated to version 1.0, which updates the interface to the current API version and incorporates changes to the settings menu to use LibAddonMenu version 2.

I do not work on this as much as I thought I did. I still would like to move this from being a separate window and simply displaying the information to the regular chat window. When I find some time I will try and do so.

Version 0.9 will be up soon. Adds the ability to select which sound you wish to play for each type of event.

Version 1.0 will be in the mix soon. I hope to separate being able to enable/disable individual guilds from notifications. Beyond that, I do not know what I can do to this that doesn't stretch it past what it's intent is. Would be nice if it were easier to send the notifications to your chat window instead of having a separate window (or at least the ability to choose).

Sorry about the long update. I incorporated code style changes I made to my other addon into this one also. New version allows you to select individual messages to enable/disable along with all of a certain group.

LibAddOnMenu appears to not be able to detect when one option disables other options, so if you use the setting to enable/disable all settings of a group it will do so. However, the other options of that type will still show what they showed when you did. If you then click on one of those, it switches it back (which would defeat the purpose of enabling/disabling all.

Sounds good! I hope I didn't sound like I'm ungrateful, after using it for a few hours later I realized there is no reason to disable it, but even the option to ONLY show notifications from friends (instead of both guildies and friends) would be nice if it's not too hard.

Thanks again, I really do like the addon!

The main one is a filter, allowing you to see notifications for only friends or particular guilds. Honestly I downloaded this just for the friend notification.

Also selecting what updates to get notified for. Like for a guild. Maybe I want to see when they log in, but not log out. Or maybe I don't want to see when they enter a dungeon.

Other than that, I like where it is going. I'll keep it enabled for now, as long as it doesn't get too distracting without being able to filter.

Thanks!
Thank you for the input. When I get some time I will look into adding some of those features. This sort-of-initial release was to get the information out there. I noticed the events that dealt with your friends and realized I wanted some way of knowing more about my friends online than there was available (especially when they level up). As ESO will not let us send messages directly to the chat window, this was my only option.

My plans for this are to allow users to choose which messages they can or cannot see (maybe even catch those messages before they hit the chat window too), allow users to select which sounds play for which events, and resizing of the window itself.

The functionality is there, I just disabled it for now. Considering that the window size isn't modifiable (something I may look at actually doing at a later point), a larger font size looked bad to me and took away from the 'look' of the window. I will add all that back in though, because forcing a specific look should not be what I am doing.
