Furniture Catalogue  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 4.80.1
by: manavortex, berylbones, wookiefriseur
Furniture Crafter's best friend*.
*Actually not. The AddOn is pretty indifferent towards humans. Don't take it personal.

DependsOn
If you are here because ESO told you that the AddOn can't load due to missing dependencies, please check here.

Missing/Incorrect entries
If you are here because you want to report an error in the data, please check here.
Feel free to send berylbones a message (here or in game) with the item info for timely updates!

Features:
Check the screenshots!
  • User-Interface: toggleable either via keybind or via slash command /fur[/size]
  • FurnitureShoppingList: Fully integrated
  • Compact/Full view: Check the +/- button
  • Item database: Holds a list of all available furniture blueprints (source: I datamined them myself! ^_^)
  • Filters: All filters are additive - check first screenshot
    • crafting station
    • crafting knowledge
    • item source
    • quality
    • game version
    • item name
  • Post to chat Print the recipe (if known) or the material list to chat from an item link or the Interface - see second screenshot
  • Responsive developer Found something that's not in the catalogue? Tell me where you got it, send me an item link, and in it goes!
Not possible:
  • Preview: I can't let you preview things from Furniture Catalogue. Scroll down for the long explanation.
  • Crown Store: I can't access Crown Store tooltips. If you have a crown store item, please send me the link and price!
Why should I use this instead of CraftStore?
You probably shouldn't - this AddOn has a different purpose. I wrote FurnitureCatalogue to help me with furnishing my homes - I wanted to know what's out there and how I can get it.

Donations welcome!
Writing this AddOn was a lot of work. Almost all the included data files are generated by hand. I have literally spent hours just standing in front of furniture merchants, checking item conditions and putting things into files. (If you want a better impression, check data/Homestead/AchievementVendors.lua - I have visited every single one of those myself.)
By careful estimate I've spent 30+ hours on FurC since Morrowind hit PTS - the initial release ate a week of vacation turned to pretty much nonstop coding.
I've taken over updating since manavortex no longer playes ESO, so if you want to give back, feel free to donate to @berylbones, both on NA and EU!

Possible issues

My crafter's knowledge isn't correct!
Just click the refresh button. If you want the AddOn to scan on every load, there is a setting "inable initial scan" - check if it's deactivated.

This only shows Pact PVP furniture, and I'm $other_faction!
This is a feature. Adding complexity adds bugs and loading times - and that's needlessly complex, since the prices and item sources are the same.

Something else is broken!
  1. Disable Shissu's Guild Tools - Shissu altered some ESO functions, it's nothing I can fix
  2. Reset the furniture catalogue database by middle-clicking the refresh button or wiping it from the menu
  3. Wipe the saved variables - you can do that from the AddOn menu via "Reset to default".
  4. Do a clean install of the AddOn to make sure no outdated files are left
  5. Get in touch with manavortex with a description of the bug:
    • Where exactly does it occur? (FurnitureCatalogue window, when right-clicking an item link...)
    • What is affected? (item links, posting to chat, exporting...)
    • What do I have to do when I want to reproduce this bug?
Big thanks to my fellow developers for being so awesome and helping me out so much!

The long version about the preview
I have talked to Chip Hilseberg (may his code never bug) about this, and he was quite clear - ZOS doesn't want us to preview items from the item links because of datamining etc. A function to preview items that we can craft may come eventually, but that will only help you while logged in on your crafter.

Why can't you make it work like FurniturePreview?
There is an API function that lets you preview something that is in a bag (a vendor is a bag too) or a guild store. In theory I could add preview functions from Furniture Catalogue for items that are in your inventory, but that would require yet another loop and have a negative impact on performance. (Again.) Just use FurniturePreview for those, please.

Wishlist/ToDo:
Add icons to recipes in bank/inventory/guildbank when a recipe is known/unknown
[ DONE ]

Add MasterMerchant integration to FurnitureCatalogue tooltip overlay
[ WON'T DO] - use FurnitureShoppingList or post to chat for regular tooltip

Fix the tooltip from the dropdown menus lingering after the menu has been closed
[ DONE ]

Fix up the export function
[ DONE ]

Hook up crafting station tooltips for rightclick
[ BACKLOG ]

Add the option to log other furniture crafter's account names when reading FurC output
[ BACKLOG ]

Add item links from guild trader on returning search results
[ BACKLOG ]

Add the option to import other furniture crafters' exported sheets for guild wide
[ BACKLOG ]
If you don't find change notes, it's because it's Luxury Furnisher. Booooring.

Speaking of boring: if you're really bored you can find the full changelog here and all undocumented changes here.

Rather than trying to explain, thought that pictures with problems would be better :

Warning: Spoiler

The old version pre 4.0 is working fine and showing everything.

If you want my last sv, i can send it to you.

Tested with 5d version also, and still the same problems.

Thanks for this - and you are right, pictures are helping.

If you check your saved variables, are there entries with item links as keys? If yes, would you please re-create your saved variables? (All entries should have item IDs as keys.)
If not, did you re-scan already? I see that you are skipping the initial scan, that makes the database not update on launch.

If you toggle the filters, does that fix it? As in, does the UI behave correctly if you (for example) switch the filter for blues on and off in the view where you only see blue stuff?

Asking because I couldn't reproduce.

UPDATE :
- deleted everything. Loaded version 5F (had stopped my precedent testing at 5d or E i think)
- did not modify the settings, loaded one by one each of my characters, used the scan database for character, and export for each of them
- then started to test
- I did not changed the First scan option at all
- First line of buttons works well now
(had a hiatus but was only my fault, when i switched to purchasable using the button, i forgot to changed it also in the dropdown listing. Once done, list was there
- second line of button works fine too

So for now it seems that the version i did not tested yesterday is working fine )

As i do not know what the ID format looks like below is how today savedvariable look like --just an extract-- for one purchasable and one craftable items

Warning: Spoiler

Little question : if i do not change the First database scan option, will this scan happens often ? or can i now change that default option ?

Conclusion : This is really a great addon. I really love it. I will continue to test it anyway to see if i do some wrong things that could lead to stupid result :P

Thank you
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outdated problems that do not exist anymore
Going to test everything again. I went back to a pre version of 4.0. So will download it again and test it.

Though to answer your question, before swithching to a pre version :

- First line of buttons : they all work BUT not the button ALL (3rd button)
- Second line of buttons : they all work BUT not the button ALL (1st button).

Those two buttons are no working for me at all.

The toggle buttons of the first line, are working fine one time, then they mess and if i click again on them they mix everything, giving me purchasable when i want craft, and that kind.

K back in few after some more testing

Hey Anceane,

thank you for your testing effort - it's appreciated!

Little question : if i do not change the First database scan option, will this scan happens often ? or can i now change that default option ?
Well - after I commented the line back in *coughs* the add-on does the following on each initialisation:

[spoiler]
Code:
Lua Code:
  1. if not FurnitureCatalogue.GetSkipInitialScan() then
  2.         FurnitureCatalogue.ScanRecipes()
  3. end
  4.
  5. function FurC.ScanRecipes(rescan, wipe)                                     -- returns database
  6.
  7.     local rescan = rescan or (FurC.settings["databaseVersion"] < FurC.version)
  8.
  9.     if (nil == FurC.settings["data"] or wipe) then FurC.settings["data"] = {} end
  10.
  11.     if rescan then
  12.         -- FurC.settings["data"] = {}
  13.         FurC.settings["excelExport"] = {}
  14.         FurC.settings["databaseVersion"] = FurC.version
  15.         scanRollis()
  16.         scanRecipeFile()
  17.         scanVendorFiles()
  18.     end
  19.
  20.
  21.     -- scanItemFile()
  22.     if not FurC.GetSkipInitialScan() then
  23.         local listName, numRecipes      = nil
  24.         for recipeListIndex=1, GetNumRecipeLists() do
  25.             listName, numRecipes        = GetRecipeListInfo(recipeListIndex)
  26.             -- d(zo_strformat("<<1>>: <<2>> entries", listName, numRecipes))
  27.             for recipeIndex = 1, numRecipes do
  28.                 scanRecipeIndices(recipeListIndex, recipeIndex)
  29.             end
  30.         end
  31.     end
  32.
  33.     return FurC.settings["data"]
  34. end
[spoiler]

... basically, the files only get read after a reset, the rest checks against character knowledge. The whole thing takes maybe a second, and it's not very load-heavy because there's an interval in the code.

Hope that helps you?

It's broken again, tells my alts and even shows on the tooltip for recipes my furniture crafter knows in the Furniture Catalogue interface that "you cannot craft this yet".

*edit* it required my crafter to log in again, even though the list of recipes my crafter knew was correct in the database, the tooltips were wrong until I logged the furniture crafter. Might want to put that in changelog (that people need to log in crafter again for version to work).

So, if you go here it shows a data dump of all the furniture plans that exist.

I noticed on that list there are green plans like this and this and this, but when I use FC to search for all the green plans I don't know, those plans aren't listed even though they also aren't listed in the plans I DO know. There's probably about 20 such green plans from my count.

I suppose I'm asking whether this is a case of FC's database not being fully fleshed out, or if it's a case of "the plans exist; they're just not in the live game yet".

at first I the dump from uesp to build my linklist - but I noticed that a lot of recipes (like this) were in the database, but not in the game's live data. I didn't really want people to go crazy looking for recipes that didn't exist because the Furniture Catalogue database showed them. However, the AddOn was initially set up to work without any preinitialised data, so it will still insert any recipe it encounters from a tooltip into the database.

I'll add it in the description. Thanks!

Right click gives error

Hey, this addon is amazing! Now I don't have to travel to each individual crafting station and see what things I can make. The only thing is, for some reason, whenever I right-click a design/praxis/etc., or rightclick a thing I can make, I get the following error.

user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/FurCControlBridge.lua:218: function expected instead of nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/FurnitureCatalogue/FurCControlBridge.lua:218: in function 'func'
EsoUI/Libraries/Globals/globalapi.lua:195: in function '(anonymous)'
I tried relogging, and I am still getting it. Anything someone can help me with?

Edit: No error now, for some reason. Only thing I did is reinstall it yesterday, but that didn't help either, at first. Now it's all good. Weird.

I really like the idea of this addon - I only learn furniture recipes on one character so when alts pick them up, I like being able to check and see if my crafter knows them or not. That said, I'm having an issue where, whenever I open the catalogue window, my chat is cleared and spammed with the filter word(s). I looked in settings to see if there was a way to not use chat for anything but I don't see anything that appears to be related. Is this normal and if so, is there a way I can turn it off? The addon is otherwise unusable for me as it also happens when I click someone's linked recipe and I can't have my chat cleared all the time.

Here is what it looks like:

Furniture Catalogue Now Borked

I'm not sure what happened, but this mornings update totally borked my Furniture Catalogue so that it doesn't work at all. It's selected as one of the add-on's, but nothing shows up in the settings menu for AddOn's that the catalogue is active. Also nothing shows up for my tooltips, etc. I tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling but that didn't help. HELP!

Did you install via minion or manually?
If via minion, please close the game, right-click on the add-on, select "Reinstall" and tick "delete saved variables", then wait and power up again. If not, please delete the Add-On folder, go up a level and delete the Furniture Catalogue file from the SavedVars folder - same procedure

Glad that you like the add-on!
