AmiliousGuildTools  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.3.0.0
by: amilious [More]
I built this add on to bring more guild functionality to where it is lacking in Elder Scrolls Online. I was very unimpressed with the vanilla guild functions, so I built them in this add on. This is my attempt on bring the classic MMO feel and features to Elder Scrolls Online. AmiliousGuildTools brings guild member notifications and advanced commands to the game.

Bugs & Fixes

Due to my incompetence when I made the 3.0.0.1 update, I changed the name of the saved variables. The result is when updating from a version prior to 3.0.0.1 to version 3.0.0.1 or higher, you mite get a message like this when logging on.
Code:
... :function expected instead of nil stack tracebask:
... :in function '(main chunk)'
The fix is to log out. Then go to your Documents folder then going to ..\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables and delete the file called AmiliousGuildTools.lua . After doing that you should not get the message anymore.

  • You can now change the color, and text alignment for the on screen display.
  • You can now completely shut the on screen display off.

1.5
  • Bug Fix: You couldn't move the notification window past the screen border
  • Bug Fix: Add on crashed due to a type-o if a guild-member leveled up
  • Bug Fix: Because one of the libraries that I'm using is messed up I have to run my own instance all the time

1.4
  • Added settings ui
  • Made it so you can distinguish which notifications are displayed for which guild
  • Update the on-screen display, it can now be moved
  • Completely rewrote the entire add-on to make it more stable and organized

1.3
  • epic fail

I'm still having the same old problems from a few versions ago:

The following settings do not work for me:

'level up onscreen' OFF
'status change in chat' OFF
'MOTD in chat' OFF
'level up in chat' OFF
'level up onscreen' OFF
'in chat notifications' OFF

Let me know if I need to send screenshots of any of this.

Would it be possible to not get the notifications about people coming into my zone?

/Joined feature

Is it possible to add a "/Joined" feature that will tell you what date guild members joined your guild?

So I have been playing with the settings for notifications and it doesn't make much sense. Not sure if it's working correctly and I just don't understand the settings or it's not working properly. Here is what I have with respect to the MOTD:

Under settings:
Notifications: on On-Screen Display off
In-Chat Notifications on

Under Notifications:
MOTD in chat: on MOTD On-Screen: off
Guild Messages: off

With those settings I get the MOTD on-screen and nothing in chat. If I switch it to MOTD in chat: off and MOTD On-Screen: on and /reloadui it does the exact same thing. I'm having similar issues with the zoning messages. I have those turned off but still getting them in chat. Can anyone provide any clarification as to how this is supposed to work or if they are seeing the same thing?

Curious if anyone else is seeing this but I keep getting messages (in chat and on screen) of people changing zones even though I have "zone change on-screen" and "zone change in chat" both set to off. Is there something I'm missing or is something bugged perhaps?

I really enjoy completing a hard earned achievement like Tamriel Hero and would love for the ability to have it automatically announce my achievement in guild chat. I always feel a little lame manually typing and linking it in chat, fishing for the occasional "gratz". An automatic notification would help me, and a lot of my fellow guild members, feel less guilty about actively fishing for a compliment.

Again, thanks so much for the effort maintaining this and keep up the great work!

Thanks for your time.

1) The Prune function. Must this be on by default, and can't we have a setting to turn it off completely? This is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to have to set a maximum number of days; I just want it off. I don't want anybody or anything kicking my guild members but me.

I see that I can (theoretically) turn it off for each individual member by typing the word "skip" as the first word in the member's note. Must it work this way? I find that invasive and peremptory, as it forces me to have a note for each and every guild member, and it forces me to type those notes in a certain way. Besides, since encountering the notification bug, which is pretty fundamental, I no longer trust any of the features until it's too late. I don't want to find out the hard way that the "skip" thing doesn't work.

2) Are member notes viewable by the members?

3) I have all chatbox notifications turned off, but I still them.

4) What is Guild Alert?

5) What is Guild Zone Change?
1) The prune is not automatic. It only happens when you type /g#prune , and it will only work if you have the privileges in the guild!
2) yes
3) I'll look into it
4)When you type in guild chat and start your message with <<, it will make the message pop up on the on screen display. This is for things such as notifying members of a guild meeting.
5) This will tell you when guild mates enter the same zone that you are in (i.e. Auridon)

I hope that this helps!!
Thank you so much. Forgive me! I thought I had updated before I asked all those questions, but I had a senior moment and didn't actually install the new version. I am still seeing status changes (log on, log off) in chat. Now I just want to know two things:

1) What's the difference between a Guild Message and a Guild Alert?
2) Do my members have to have the addon and have notifications turned on in order to see an alert that I send?

Thanks so much, and you've been most helpful. I *love*, really love the new features and the new interface.
1)Guild alert will show up even if guild message is turned off. I put it into the addon before i had guild messages showing on the on screen display!
2)Yes
