Please read this.

I'm taking another break for a while. My anxiety isn't holding up well and I need to take some time for myself to recover. Frankly, modding can be a thankless job and some of the people one is forced to interact with can be... deeply unpleasant at best, to put it in the kindest way I can and not as I truly want to. For now, I feel like my mods don't need any further work done to them. They're fine as they are. See you later, folks.

I'll be back! I'm not gone for good, I just need to set this aside for now. That's all.

One thing I will say as a final note is that it'd be nice if one could turn off the comments system and only have a bug tracker in the vein of Nexus Mods. That'd be handy for people like myself who do deal with anxiety. And I deal with a lot of anxiety.

See you around, folks. My thanks to those who were kind.

Description
Update!: Let's call this the Unflark the Chat Edition update. Not that this mod flark'd the chat, but the chat was really flark'd in general, you guys. I've gone about fixing things up as best I can because it was driving me insane.

This is a very simple little mod (with a very tiny resource footprint) that fixes chat-related UI bugs and provides key bindings for hiding and showing the chat window.
Features
Show & Hide

There are now key bindings for showing and hiding the chat window. This feature will also properly account for the chat tabs. So you won't see chat tab text randomly popping up when the chat window is minimised, and the chat tabs will still properly show if you unhide the chat in a means other than via this addon (such as hitting enter with it hidden, or esc with it shown).

Scroll Bar Unflark'd

The scroll bar will now always show if you move your mouse cursor into the window, at all other times it will hide.

This fixes: Sometimes the scroll bar wouldn't show until you entered text or tried to resize the chat window.

Scroll Position Unflark'd

You can now scroll up and down throughout the log with ease, if you scroll up in the log it won't snap back down to the bottom if there are new entries, but if you scroll back down yourself (once you're done) it'll continue to move down to show new lines as normal.

This fixes: The chat window impertinently struggling with you; You would want to scroll down, it would want to hide text from you. Very irritating.
Disclaimer
I'm sharing this though because I genuinely get satisfaction out of the mere possibility of helping others, even when I don't know for sure. I have no interest in being popular, cults of popularity squick me out. As such, considering my disabilities, I'm unlikely to look at the comments very much. So this addon is delivered as-is, with a hearty dose of caveat emptor. Anything that it doesn't already do is 'out of scope.' You have other choices. I just wanted to make an simple, elegant solution for a real problem I was having. And now I'm sharing it in case it helps others.

o The chat window was flark'd (not by this mod), now it's unflark'd. See the description. Everyone should want unflark'd chat windows.

:: 005-100022

o Had you noticed that the chat tabs would sometimes show when the chat window was set to hidden? I got the little botherers this time. It took quite some finagling to do, too. They'll also properly show if the chat window is triggered by another source (closed by hitting esc, opened by hitting return, et cetera).

o That's it, but it was more work than you might realise.

o D'oh. After having changed how the addon loaded, the keybindings were no longer showing up (even though the addon worked). Since my keybindings were already set, and I use SetMeUp with Binder to set my keybindings on new characters, I'd had no reason to check. My beau informed me, thankfully.

o Fixed a little more startup weirdness (that should be the last of it).

o Noticed a thing where the text names of the chat tabs would still show if the window hides too fast, dealt with that.

o Went over the code with a fine tooth comb, cleaned it up.

:: 002-100017

o Fixed a startup bug where the chat window may not technically exist yet by adding a delay. I've done some extensive testing and haven't been able to reproduce that bug with the delay in place. Also threw in a safety check there, too, just for good measure.

:: 001-100017

o Initial release.
