Dungeon Tracker
(Formerly Dungeon Levels)

(Click your flag to translate the page. Addon includes in-game support for all listed languages.)

REQUIRED LIBRARIES: LibAddonMenu

This addon adds completion and achievement information to dungeon (group and public) and trial tooltips, and overhauls the activity finder. It allows you to see quickly from the tooltip whether you have completed the global achievement for a group dungeon, public dungeon or trial, as well as visually tracking hard mode, timed trial, and no death achievements. Information is shown separately for normal and veteran versions. Also, for dungeons with multiple versions (I and II) the tooltips now show both.

Addon Settings contain many options to enable and disable various features. There are options for modifying map tooltips as well as the group finder and customizing the display.

There are many options and information you can track:
  • NEW: Click button to automatically select all dungeons for which you have not yet done the skill point quest at the LFG queue (can choose normal or veteran).
  • NEW: Show per-character group dungeon skillpoint quest completion status! (Thanks to the authors of LibUespQuestData which I referenced for the quest ID's.)
  • NEW: Shows current character's skillpoint completion for public delve tooltips.
  • Show a list of global dungeon achievement completion status on the Group Finder selection list tooltips.
  • Show a list of global dungeon/achievement completion status on dungeon (group and/or public) or trial map pin tooltips.
  • Show current characters' group challenge skillpoint completion status on public dungeon map pin tooltips.
  • Show global completion status of the achievement to defeat all bosses on public dungeon map pin tooltips.
  • Show global progress towards the meta achievements to complete all group and public dungeons in each faction on all tooltips.
  • Show missing dungeon description text Zenimax created to the specific dungeon finder tooltips in a style-conscious way.

Known limitations:

You will need to actually discover a group or public dungeon or a trial in order to see extra information in the tooltip. Addons like Map Pins MAY allow you to see the tooltips without visiting (needs testing).

Gold donations are always welcome!

Question Meaning of the dungeons shown in green

I can't quite understand what does it mean when there are some dungeons in the list that are in green. I was able to deduct that the yellow means pledges but what does the green mean? If there's an explanation already it's not really obvious.

I uploaded a new screenshot with the new addon settings (it is the current main image). I hope that helps make them more visible in the list.
Having an indicator for "current character" now is awesome! Checked a few dungeons I know my main has and has not completed, and the asterisk always shows where it should when "showing all"; yay! Thank You!

Just to confirm my understanding...
  1. the asterisk (if considered alone) will always denote the current character (and in essence becomes part of the name text for colorization),
  2. the new "current character color" (when set differently) emphasizes that one step further on quest completion for the current character by applying its colour to their "*name" (alts follow the "completed color" for quests), and
  3. the "*name" follows the "Incomplete Color" if any (including the current) character has not completed the quest
If I have this correct... I might suggest some small textual edits (focusing on the settings labels, but probably inspires some tooltip updates as well) to reduce any potential user confusion and questions you might get asked:
  1. "Completed Color" => "Alternate Character Completed Color"
  2. "Incomplete Color" => "All Character Incomplete Color"
  3. "Current Character Color" => "Current Character Completed Color"

I like your suggestions for emphasizing the current character in the lists, however there are some problems with implementation. Because this is a tooltip control you can only add lines of text one at a time using ZOS functions. The text format is global for the entire tooltip control so you can't have just one part underlined or bold, or a different font. You CAN change color using text string color tags, however these tags do not apply to text string-added icons.

What I could do is add an option to show a white character head indicator in front of your current character (it would always be white).
Thank you for considering my idea. Questions and comments:
  • Couldn't the physical icon (assuming PNG, JPEG, etc) added to a text string be pre-colored?
  • I don't mind the idea of a white head as it would definitely stand out, but (sticking to my "blue theme" thoughts) I'm leaning (and only represent one opinion) to forgoing the icon to maintain the blue theme. Which do you feel more denotes "character specific"; blue versus head icon?
    • Hmmm, the head icon is definitely character-ish
  • If blue theming wins over white head icon; adding text you can color like a blue asterisk (*), or exclamation mark (!), or "at" (@), or caret (^) may be good alternatives... hey, doesn't the Zone Tracker use a caret/arrow to denote the "current map" you're on? Might be a better text option that also fits with ESO's "current" theming.
    • Are (extended) ascii characters possible? Might be able to find a text symbol closer to the Zone Tracker caret/arrow
    • Hmmm, the head icon is definitely character-ish
  • Or, forget symbols and use 4 colors where shades of blue equate to current character
    • Current toon... completed versus not completed (override your colour options)
    • Other toon... completed versus not completed (follow your colour options)
I think it boils down to what you feel more denotes "character specific"; blue themed text (multiple options) or head icon (single color, but character-ish)? At the end of the day, it needs to fit your total vision for your addon so you are happy with it.

With an eye-catching alternate way to pick my current character out of the crowd (without reading all the names), I'll greatly appreciate it regardless of its color/shape.

Wow, great update! Really like the changes, additions, returning features. I'm also glad to see that LibAchievementArchive provided some value for you.

I have one small color suggestion for re-using the blue (current character color)... similar to how if I'm in "current character" show dungeon quest mode the label is blue to let me know it's character specific... I think it would be neat to also use that color in some way when I flip that mode to "all characters"... "keeping the blue" alive for the current character may bring some extra value in identifying the current character from the lists.

Two unique ideas to accomplish highlighting the current character (Toon3) "blue" within the lists:
  1. That the character list highlights all the "other completed" characters "green" and the current character completion would be "blue". Now one can easily differentiate the current character has completed it in the list (blue separating them from the other greens); although, does not help to highlight an incomplete for the current character... likely a bad idea to give "blue" a dual purpose of (1) current character and (2) completed = true
    • Toon3 TRUE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3, Toon4
    • Toon3 FALSE => Toon1,Toon2, Toon3, Toon4 (true/false becomes visually indistinguishable unless another colour is introduced)
  2. What if the color logic stayed as is and symbols/images were added to denote the current character instead? Like a pair of blue brackets wrapping their name; or underline their name blue; or appending/prefixing a symbol like an asterisk; or appending/prefixing the blue head image? then one could easily identify the current character from any list... whether it's name text is green/grey (true/false)...
    • Coloured brackets (showing parentheses so the BB code doesn't think I'm trying to create a tag)
      • Toon3 TRUE => Toon1, Toon2, (Toon3), Toon4
      • Toon3 FALSE => Toon1, Toon2, (Toon3), Toon4
    • Coloured underline (unsure how to make the underline "blue" in BB code)
      • Toon3 TRUE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3, Toon4
      • Toon3 FALSE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3, Toon4
    • Coloured asterisk
      • Toon3 TRUE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3*, Toon4
      • Toon3 FALSE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3*, Toon4
    • Or similar to the asterisk, add the "little blue head". That would maintain both the colour and symbol/image theming.
      • Toon3 TRUE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3, Toon4
      • Toon3 FALSE => Toon1, Toon2, Toon3, Toon4

I can still look into adding an option to show public dungeon "kill all bosses" and "complete all in faction" achievements per-character using LibAchievementsArchive for the people that backed up their data before the patch, but that is the only part of Dungeon Tracker it would change.

I had hoped to add additional tracking for Group dungeon skill point quests (non-achievement) using quest tracking, which is something I am currently looking into for a future release.
I sent you a PM with a link to my lua saved var file. If it proves useful to you for future features/enhancements then that's great! If it doesn't really provide more options for the direction you are going with your addon, then that's okay too.

My posts were more about clarifying "delve" versus PD... and a curiosity that if you did accomplish delves about how you did it (like using LibAchievementsArchive). You've answered my questions about the focus more being on PD's and Dungeons... and if any more development comes out of this dialogue to enhance PD's data... that's pure gravy (I wasn't intending to add anything to your list of to-do's... but maybe I exposed a potential new data option)

Those number strings are actually unique character ID's assigned by the game. I could easily enough edit them manually with some of my own though.

I'm not actually sure that LibAchievementsArchive is something that really applies to Dungeon Tracker. For the things this addon actually keeps track of anyway, it wouldn't really add much. Plus it would only really benefit people who backed up their achievements using that lib before update 33, which will not be most people.

The thing is, the only real important thing to know per-character anymore is whether you have completed the skill point quest for each group dungeon, and those are not tied to achievements, therefor LibAchievementsArchive would not give any added benefit. The rest (timed trial, no death, hard mode, etc.) are for titles that are now given account-wide, so it doesn't really matter to track individual character progress on those. In fact it might end up making things overly confusing. All character achievements will contribute to the completion of those global metas, so that progress is what Dungeon Tracker now keeps track of.

For public dungeons this addon does track per-character completion of the skill point group challenge. For the other achievements (kill all bosses, complete all in a faction) again it is more personal preference, but the reward for those is now given globally so it really only makes sense to track progress globally in this addon.

I can still look into adding an option to show public dungeon "kill all bosses" and "complete all in faction" achievements per-character using LibAchievementsArchive for the people that backed up their data before the patch, but that is the only part of Dungeon Tracker it would change.

I can look into adding an option to enable support for LibAchievementsArchive for group dungeons (if it supports those). However I didn't backup my characters so I have no data to work with and it might involve some guesswork. Even with those addons however, the actual achievement progress for GROUP dungeons is still global now in-game.

As to your earlier question re: delves, that was a mistype on my part. I re-uploaded without version change to correct the language files so they show "Public Dungeon" for those settings which apply to those. I also replaced the addon setting screenshot. Hopefully that makes more sense. Thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: One last ninja update without version change to indicate Group dungeon where settings apply to those, to match the Public dungeon designation added to the others. Settings should appear consistent now. Updated screenshot again.
Thank you for the feedback and update. I can confirm the updated version is live, installed, and setting names are updated..

["characters"] =
{

},
Might need some caution to make sure you'd not be developing something already in CharacterZoneTracker which does a pretty good job of revising the "Map Completion" list... but doesn't add any details to the delve mouseover. Not sure if it's base game or another addon... but what I see on delve mouse over is a text that describes the location of it's skyshard and whether it's collected... which could be the AWA/global data.

Looks like it went through and the updated version is working (without error) like in the screenshots for Dungeons and Public Dungeons.

Just curious about the wording in settings for "Delves"... These are PD only, right? Or is there a plan to add Delve tooltips? I don't see delves listed in the list of features.

These errors should be fixed now.
Still getting the same errors after re-installing with minion... I reinstalled because I didn't see a new version. Did you republish 1.37, or should we be seeing 1.38. Oddly, If I try download manually, I get 1.36
