Advanced Member Tooltip  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.6
by: calia1120 [More]
Advanced Member Tooltip (AMT), originally by Arkadius

Newly updated for the current game patch, and now with additional language localizations. I've also fixed some various issues that were present.

This addon adds some information to the standard guild roster tooltips when you hover over a member's name:
- Days since a member joined
- Amount of gold that a member deposited on / withdrew from the guild bank

When the addon is run for the very first time, it needs to download all information from the server first. This needs to be done only one time and may take a few minutes to complete.

NOTE: The first time you run this addon, it will scan the history for all your guilds. It is recommended to disable other addons that request guild histories such as Shopkeeper or Master Merchant when you first install and load this addon, otherwise you will likely get disconnected from the server for message rate spamming.

After the initial scan, all further scans are done periodically every 5 minutes to keep the information up to date.

This addon does not have an in game settings menu currently. I am planning on adding one in addition to some other features in the future as time permits.

Since U41 I've started getting this error occasionally (often) when mousing over members in the roster.

user:/AddOns/AdvancedMemberTooltip/AdvancedMemberTooltip.lua:131: operator - is not supported for number - nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/AdvancedMemberTooltip/AdvancedMemberTooltip.lua:131: in function 'ZO_KeyboardGuildRosterRowDisplayName_OnMouseEnter'
(tail call): ?
ZO_GuildRosterList1Row1DisplayName_MouseEnter:3: in function '(main chunk)'
The addon sort of still works. Members who joined prior to U41 are being tracked, but anyone who's joined since does not.

I've build a new addon based on AMT, please check it out, I'd appreciate some feedback!

For the sales tab it only goes back 10 days on the game's server for that category of guild history. The developers are not into giving us information that would be useful to help answer your question you are left with guessing. When someone joins The Guild that's in the general Guild category the first one on the guild history tab. My guess is that it would go back a certain amount of days or a certain amount of entries before it started trimming the history on the server.

All you can do is go to the guild history, click the guild category, select all and just press E until E is no longer an option.

You will only be able to get what information is stored on the server and anything beyond that is unavailable. For example if the server only goes back ten days or 20 days and someone joined your guild 100 days ago, obviously you aren't going to be able to go back a hundred days because the server doesn't store that much history.

So pay attention to the tooltip. When it says "15 days" then that is the time. When it says "> 15 days" then the information has not been seen yet. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph depending on how far back the history goes on the server you won't be able to obtain the information you want.

Hopefully you haven't manually edited the saved vars file because if you do then the tooltip won't be as informative.

The mod is not broken in regards to what you are reporting. This would be the same for XxLordCristoxX. Only he may have installed the mod about 186 days ago so the oldest event he has seen is 186 days old. If he sees anything like "> 186 days" then the information was never available. The server won't go back that far so he's never going to see the guild history for that category and that event.

All of the concerns from everyone on this page are all related to the same types of expectations people had with older versions of Master Merchant.

People feel that a mod or the mod author's code has access to information in an instant and Unlimited information.

I put in the MM docs for 3.0 that the guild history you can see when you go to the guild history tab is what mods scan. I have also tried to stress that you have to be able to see the entry with your eyes. Unless you can see it then mods won't see it.

I know this makes people feel a little annoyed or sometimes bothered by that answer and people feel that there's some kind of automation that is missing. There isn't. The game developers simply choose to do what they want to do and, they do not make this convenient and easy for users or mod authors.

Regardless of when you start using this mod it will only record 10 days of data because that is all that is stored on the server. Anytime that you are offline at work or sleeping obviously the server is not transmitting any information to this mod. When you log in you're going to have to go to the guild history and manually request if you want it. You can just sit there and hope that the server send it to you automatically but it probably won't.

When you see any date range greater the 10 days that means the mod was installed and activated that many days ago, and saw some kind of guild history it is program to record. That date is then used to show the oldest date for information that the mod has seen.

When you see dates and values and information that seem to only be recent within the last 10 days or less that is because you've or looking at information that's available on the server. The server only keeps 10 days of information.

If you use MM 3.0 then you have LibHistoire installed. That is a library that records data from the time you start using it. So it will create the impression that you have access to more data then the server. However the library is simply keeping the data instead of doing what the server does and discarding data after 10 days.

For the times in the tooltips. If you see "195 days" then you had the mod active at that time 195 days ago. If you see "> 195 days" then that means the information needed is no longer available ( because the server only keeps 10 days) and therefore it is then shown as "more than 195 days" to indicate it is information that can not be obtained any longer because it is out of range. The range begins at the time you installed the mod and it recorded its first event.

Hey guys, since no updates have come to AMT in a while I'm building my own addon to help those who still need these infos. For now I have only the days since joined and I'm working on gold contribution through taxes at the moment. Feel free to try it out and leave a comment if you find any bugs!

Number of Days Fix?

The fix for getting rid of the error messages worked. Now Everyone that joined before I started using it is stuck at 186 days. Does anyone have a fix? Or does anyone know how to fix it?

Re: Not showing time in guild correct?

Definitely seems to be something funky with Elseweyr.

Do you mean you're not seeing information when hovering over user names in the guild roster, or something else?
I know I'm not seeing anything with that error message.
