Raffle Unlimited
Version: 18.23.0
by: depeshmood, calia1120
Due to real life commitments, I am no longer able to support this addon.
If this addon is considered out of date please open RaffleUnlimited.txt, from the RaffleUnlimited install folder, in your text editor and update line 4's APIVersion number to the current number. (Please visit http://wiki.esoui.com to obtain the "Current API Version".)
As long as there are no changes to the API functions used for this addon, this method should work for some time to come.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raffle Unlimited is a convenient method for handling raffles for items, gold and raffle tickets while in-game.

Invalid Start / End Date: If you receive a message about an invalid start and/or end date after an update to the API and/or game client, select a different date, choose your previously selected date and the addon will work as intended.

You can access Raffle Unlimited by going to Settings -> Addon Settings -> Raffle Unlimited
or type in your chat window: /raffleunlimited

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to manually install addons:
  1. Locate the "Elder Scrolls Online" folder in your Documents
    For Windows: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\<version>\
    For Mac: ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/<version>/
(replace <version> with the client you're using - "live" or "liveeu")
  2. You should find an AddOns folder, if you don't, create one.
  3. Extract the addon from the downloaded zip file into the AddOns folder.
  4. Log into the game, and on the character creation/selection screen you'll find the Addons menu. Enable your addons from there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The menu UI for Raffle Unlimited offers the following options:
  • Guild: The guild that you would like to use to draw the raffle.
  • Exclude Guild Rank(s) #: The guild rank(s) to exclude, in the order they appear in the guild pane, and above for any deposits made in increments of the "Entry Price". 1 = Guild Master
For example: selecting #3 will exclude that rank as well as #1 and #2
  • Entry Price: The amount for each entry into the raffle.
  • Starting Amount $: This is the base amount being offered, without any raffle tickets even being purchased.
  • Starting Date: This is the date that entries started being deposited for the raffle.
  • Starting Time: This is the time that entries started being deposited.
  • Ending Date:This is the date that the entries finished being deposited for the raffle.
  • Ending Time: Any deposits made after this time, on the Ending Date, will be excluded from this raffle.
  • Prizes Per Username: The number of allowed prizes per username.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the <UNLOCK_AMOUNT> in the slash commands?
Raffle Unlimited allows you to set multiple items at multiple tiers. If you have various items that you offer for the raffle, no matter the number of participants, then this would be considered tier 1. If you have other items that are available when the total deposited towards the raffle reaches a specific amount, then this would be a new tier. The <UNLOCK_AMOUNT> is the total deposited amount that is required for the specific tier to become available as prizes in the raffle.
For example, if you have "Perfect Roe" that you would like to have available once the raffle reaches 100k, then the <UNLOCK_AMOUNT> would be "100000" or "100k".

What is the minimum <UNLOCK_AMOUNT> required?
Raffle Unlimited requires that you have at least one item available in the raffle for all participants, which that amount is 0 (zero).

How do I enter currency amounts into Raffle Unlimited?
Raffle Unlimited is programmed to allow a full, non-comma separated, number or an abbreviated number up to "M"illion(s).
For example: 1500000 or 1.5M work, but 1,500,000 will not.

What are the free tickets about?
If the guild you're in offers free raffle tickets for the next raffle, then these are the options that you would use to add the prior winner(s) and/or add free tickets to the current raffle as a prize.

Is there an option to set the gold at a percentage?
No. If you would like to raffle gold at a percentage, then you should check out the Raffle Gold addon.

How does Raffle Unlimited work?
Raffle Unlimited utilizes the game's built-in API calls to query and compile the guild bank transactions within the timeframe specified. This does not interact with anything in the guild bank, whether items or currency. Using this method ensures that there is a record available to all guild members of those that made a deposit.

Can I make a deposit into the guild bank without buying raffle tickets?
Yes. You will just need to make a deposit that is not in increments of the entry price.
For example: if the entry price is $1k, $3,001 or $2999 would not count towards the raffle.

Can I buy raffle tickets in bulk?
Yes. As long as the amount deposited can be divided by the entry amount it will be considered a raffle ticket purchase.
For example: if the entry price is $500, $9k and $16.5k would both be considered raffle ticket purchases.

How are the raffle ticket numbers assigned?
In the order purchased, oldest to newest deposits.
For example: entry amount = 1k
Guild Member #1 deposits 3k, they'd have ticket numbers 1, 2 and 3
Guild Member #2 deposits 1k, they'd have ticket number 4
Guild Member #3 deposits 5k, they'd have ticket numbers 5 - 9
Guild Member #1 deposits 2k, they'd also have ticket numbers 10 and 11

Why is there an option to draw again for a specific raffle item?
If you have any players that would like to donate to the raffle, but do not want to actually be selected during the drawing, you can use this feature to choose a different winner.

Will Raffle Unlimited interfere with other addons?
Raffle Unlimited will only scan your guild bank history when you draw and/or check the stats for the current raffle that is in-progress. It is a completely on-demand addon, and once it has compiled the information it will be dormant, until you run it again.

Limitations
  • Deposits that are made within the last minute might not appear when using the "Guild Raffle" to get the (current) results.
Try waiting ~1 minute to use the "Guild Raffle" ability, which should include the deposit(s) in question.
  • The guild history on the server stores only 10 days worth of information, so it is important that this tool is used in a timely manner once a raffle has ended, to ensure that the information isn't lost.
  • Guilds that have plenty of guild bank transactions can take longer to build the information, but Raffle Unlimited will let you know in the chat window when it has finished and is ready for use.
  • There currently is no method for exporting in-game data to an external file, but any of the saved variables are stored in a file. IF you would like to access the information for the entrants when using the Guild Bank Raffle Drawing, the SavedVariables\RaffleUnlimited.lua contains the items and entrant's information, i.e. entry number, username, number of tickets, amount deposited and raffle ticket number(s).
The only issue is you will need to parse this information, if you would like to post it anywhere in a readable format. A parsing tool for Raffle Unlimited can be found at http://www.juliabedriy.com/raffleunlimited.html, where you can upload the raw LUA data file, found in the SavedVariables folder, directly into it.

I am unable to recreate this issue; however, a guild member recently encountered a similar situation where they could hear the game still running through their speakers, but the game was unresponsive. They uninstalled the addon, reinstalled, checked the settings in the UI and haven't had any problems since. (At least that's what they mentioned they did to me, so I'm not certain if they did anything more or not.)

Hello Syn0, sorry for the delayed response, but I only just now noticed this comment, as my tabs on this site didn't notify me of any new comments.

When I was researching raffle addons for ESO I noticed there were quite a few messages about players being leery about even participating in raffles due to a number of various reasons. I tried to make one that was as close to fair and balanced for all players of a guild that participate in guild raffles.
I also added the functionality to remove any guild members from winning using multiple raffle tickets, "Prizes Per Username" functionality. I did this in response to guild members winning twice in one raffle for the first two raffles in the guild that I am in charge of raffles.

The raffles that I am in charge of are there to help inspire guild members to make deposits to help fund our guild trader. I know that if I were to exclude various donations from being included into the raffle, for the raffle tickets, that the participation level would definitely drop. I do have some guild members that donate directly to the guild that do not buy any raffle tickets at all, which they just deposit in non-raffle ticket increments (500g per ticket, they'll deposit 20,001 for example).

When it comes to any form of real world lottery and/or raffle, either everyone is limited to one ticket per person, one prize per person or they are able to purchase as many as they are able to afford, or have the funds to buy.

I would like to keep these raffle addons as close to real world circumstances as possible and I feel that the type of request that you are asking for would be very minimally used by the majority of those that actually use my raffle addons.

TL;DR
Too low of an audience base for the time involved to implement this request.

v1.2.15 - Dark Brotherhood

Please note: with the release of v1.2.15 - Dark Brotherhood you might need to update your start and end dates to have them populate with the updated API.

Select a different date for both the start and end dates, switch them back and the drawing should be fine.
The addon will notify you if you need to do this or not, so you can just try drawing the raffle before making any changes.

If it's a feature request for a specific addon, you could either put a comment for that addon in the comments section or the Features section of my author portal.
If it's a feature request for multiple addons, you can post the requests in the Features section of my author portal.

Please keep in mind that feature requests may or may not be implemented, but I have picked up some ideas for improvement outside of the comment/Features section that have been added. The primary reasons why I would not implement a change is due to the small niche group that actually uses these addons compared to the time required to implement the changes and/or the potential issues using the game client.
If it was a suggestion that I pass on, I have tried to explain my reasoning why not to that specific request.

Ideas that I have passed on, that might not be posted, and why...
One of the ideas I have had would be an in-game UI outside of the game's menu that would act similarly to the inventory and would allow users the ability to list items for raffle using this method. I have passed on this idea as it would easily take as much time, or more, to create and test as it took me to convert Raffle Gold to this addon. If there were even a couple of hundred players that use this addon then I might consider, but I know there aren't, nor would there be even with this addition. (I've had conversations with quite a few guilds that include "raffle" in their recruiting message)

Another idea that I had was to have the ability to mail and/or populate the mail with the winnings. Thinking about this one has made me realize just how many possible things can cause this to have issues. The first thing that comes to mind with automatically sending is seeing in guild chat is an apology to those that will be receiving duplicate mail because something happened (all I know is they were using MailR and no further explanation is typically given). I also know someone whos game client will randomly crash and/or kick them out of the game. As we, guilds that offer raffles, are dealing with things that other players expect to receive, I feel the best way to ensure that people actually receive their prize(s) is manually.
I haven't taken the time to populate mail for it to be manually sent as there is the possibility that another player could be the one "drawing" the raffle while another sends out the prizes or the prize(s) aren't in that player's inventory, but their bank.
Ultimately, I have encountered too many scenarios with this idea that would definitely take some time to implement, and test, and even then there's no guarantee that it would work as intended.

Hello SoulPT,

I'm glad that these addons are a help for you and that they're doing well for your guild.

In regards to the error message "Required: Raffle Prizes", there are a few steps you can try to correct this issue...

Properly close the game client and/or switch characters after completing the raffle setup and/or running the raffle drawing, for in-progress and/or completed raffles.
Improperly closing the game client (Alt+F4, for example, on Windows) can cause any of the SavedVariables that are currently stored in the cache to not be written to their associated addon(s). This is something that can affect any and/or all addons that have customizable stored information.

Copy the "RaffleUnlimited.lua" file from the SavedVariables folder to the root Documents folder prior to using the parsing tool. (See above for ensuring that the data was updated properly.)
When a file is uploaded to a website that doesn't release the information, then any changes made to that file will not be applied, and can even cause the file to be deleted. As I am not doing anything with the data, i.e. storing in a database, I made the parsing tool to just display the information from the uploaded LUA file without loading a separate results page. If you are logged in to any character and try running the parsing tool, then you are basically guaranteed to lose the "RaffleUnlimited.lua" file in SavedVariables and copying this file to a different folder is the only way to ensure you do not lose this information.

The last idea that comes to mind, but if you are still having issues then I'm not sure it will help, would be to either disable the addon and /reloadui OR log out of the game, then access the SavedVariables folder (located in your Documents) and delete the RaffleUnlimited.lua file, which will completely reset the settings for this addon and generate a new RaffleUnlimited.lua file. Please keep in mind that the addon will need to not be active in order for the information and the file to properly be deleted.

I have personally not experienced the issue that you are having, and tried to replicate it by deleting my SavedVariables file, but have not had any success replicating your described problem. If there was a LUA error message that you had, other than the addon generated message, then I would be able to troubleshoot the issue for the addon, but this sounds like it's an issue with the information being stored properly in the SavedVariables file, which is covered in the steps above.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue to this?
If so, what steps did you take to resolve them?

v1.2.1

Corrected an issue with the sorting of the bonus ticket amounts. Please note that due to the required changes that any bonus tickets entered previously will need to be entered again, starting with: /raffleu reset bonus

Sorry for not replying sooner, but I didn't notice your post until just now.

What you are asking for cannot be accomplished in the settings menu of the UI and would need a fully robust interface that would act similarly to the inventory and/or bank. If another addon author was interested in building this type of functionality then that is an option I am willing to explore.

Personally, I feel that the number of players that use these types of addons is very limited, based on the number of downloads, and investing too much time into them doesn't really make sense to me. I am willing to maintain the raffle addons, for now, if there is anything that is not working as intended and/or to keep them up-to-date with the current patch.
I really built both raffle addons to fulfill what I would personally like to be able to do in-game, that I felt I wasn't able to fully accomplish with any other addons, and thought they were good ideas that could also benefit others.
One thing that might help you with this aspect is the chat pane remembers what you've entered, once you've logged on to a toon, or at least it does for me using pChat.

What I personally do is enter an item for the raffle. After you've pressed Enter, which added the item, press Enter (again), up arrow, backspace and link the next item to the chat window, while updating the unlock and/or quantity numbers as needed. You can add quite a few items in very little time using this method.

Raffle Unlimited Parsing Tool

I have added a text field to the parsing tool that will format the items that are included in the raffle using code that can be put into the "Message of the Day" (MotD) and will display the item(s) in their correct color(s). This will make it so that [Kuta] will be gold in color, for example, instead of white in the MotD.
