BuffTimers2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.19.0
by: uta.karas [More]
I decided to maintain BuffTimers addon.

What is this exactly?
With this you can make completely stand-alone timer bars for one specific spell each. You just go in settings (see pictures), choose how many bars you want, and then choose for every bar what spell it should show, also the size, colors and optional notifications(sound+text) can be customized.

READ BELOW BEFORE USE!
The name of effect is not always the same as the spell that causes it. (ex: Elemental Drain from Destruction Staff skill line doesn't have the effect of own skill, need to use Minor Magickasteal for track) I included a debug mode that will output all effect changes into chat, activate it in settings, then use the spell you want to track and check how it's actually called.

Wish List
  • Allow to use ability ID instead of name. There are some cases when two abilities have one name (haunting curse explosion1 and explosion2, for example)
  • Allow to add custom hooks to various events (gain/update/fade) (e.g, start 'Acuity Fatigue' custom timer when 'Mechanical Acuity' fades
  • Allow to drag the bars by the icons instead of only being able to move them by clicking the timer bar
  • It would also be nice if you could just make an option to disable the timer bar altogether and just have the numbers on the icon instead
  • [implemented on v2.18.0] Reverse bar (bar decreases left-to-right, instead of default right-to-left)

Issue List
  • No notifications shows up when the (de)buffs consumed (like dk wings, sorc defensive rune)
  • [fixed on v2.18.6] the timer didn't disappear when crystal fragments proc was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.18.5] the timer didn't disappear when varen's wall (proc of varen's legacy set) was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.18.4] the timer didn't disappear when dk wing reflected all 4 projectiles
  • [fixed on v2.18.4] the timer didn't disappear when sorc defensive rune was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.18.3] when you cast Boundless Storm or Power Surge before the timer end the addon doesn't track it anymore
v2.19.0
+ compatible with update19 (Wolfhunter)

v2.18.6
+ fixed a bug the timer didn't disappear when crystal fragments proc was consumed

v2.18.5
+ fixed a bug the timer didn't disappear when varen's wall (proc of varen's legacy set) was consumed

v2.18.4
+ fixed a bug the timer didn't disappear when dk wing reflected all 4 projectiles
+ fixed a bug the timer didn't disappear when sorc defensive rune was consumed

v2.18.3

+ updated abilityId list for Summerset change

v2.18.2
+ fixed a bug of creating wrong settings while initial installing

v2.18.1
+ fixed "Tracking feature in group/raid" didn't have settings of "Reverse bar direction"

v2.18.0
+ compatible with update18 (Summerset)
+ added feature of "Reverse bar direction"

v2.0.0
+ first release by Uta
+ profiles are now account-wide
+ added feature of "Tracking alkosh in group/raid"
+ added feature of "Tracking warhorn in group/raid"
+ slightly decreased the impact for performance
+ hide while showing settings
- removed "Custom Filter XtoY"
- removed slash commands

Thumbs up good job

works great with spell names , but I need to use the ID , replace the name with an ID - nothing happens
maybe syntax? or this possibility is not realized , thanks for the answer , and where to send in-game gold?

This addon didn't support multi-language files at all atm so I believe non-existence of french language file is not matter.

You have to use zo_strformat to remove "^f" :

Lua Code:
  1. zo_strformat("<<g:1>>", "protection durcie^f" )
  2. ---Ouput:protection durcie

See the wiki : https://wiki.esoui.com/How_to_format...h_zo_strformat

I've tested that werewolf transform.
The event doesn't have duration of transforming, so this addon can't treat it.

Please check your settings of "Interval of refreshing bar (ms)" is set to 100.
Nevertheless you feel jerky, i can't do anything.

Thank you for reporting. it was bug and fixed at 2.18.6.
Please try latest one.

I just tried updating from the old "Bufftimer 1.4" to your "Bufftimer2" with saved variables not changed.

It didnt work out. Does one need to delete saved variables and reconfigure everything?

My issue was with "Crystal Fragments Proc". With old "Bufftimer 1.4", as soon as I used the instant frags, the timer disappeared - as it should be, since its a 1-time-use-feature per proc. With "Bufftimer2", the timer still counted down even after use. The debug clearly showed the "faded"-event, still the timer stayed visible.

Then I reentered the ID and later "Crystal Fragments Proc" again as event, both didnt work out at all. Now the timer doesnt appear or seems buggy.

Any hints about this? Should it work, i.e. when I do remove my saved variables and rebuild everything?

Smoother bar animation

Hi, thanks for a great addon. Is it possible to get the bar animation smoother, it's a bit jerky as it is... at least for me.

Thanks!

Thanks for your requests, they are now in wish list.

Please allow us to drag the bars by the icons instead of only being able to move them by clicking the timer bar. It would also be nice if you could just make an option to disable the timer bar altogether and just have the numbers on the icon instead.

I say this because I personally like having the timers on the icon instead of a timer bar and I know many others do so as well since it's a very common tracking method in MMOs.

I was able to get the numbers on the icon by setting both the width and height of the timer bar to zero and turning on reverse bar direction.

However, when I did this I was unable to move the bar to place it where I wanted because the timer bar was no longer visible so there was nothing to click on.

So I went back and enabled the timer bars and positioned them where I wanted thinking I would just put width and height back to zero after and it would be fine....but making the timer bars invisible after placing the icons made them come out in different positions with bars overlapping each other.

It's just a mess to setup for someone that wants to save UI space and not use timer bars but rather display the timer on the icon.

Great functionality in this addon though. Very useful. I can track everything I want very easily. My only concern other than not being able to drag the icons is that I would like more than 15 bars so I can just use one profile for the whole account.

Thanks!

Another example would be Varen's Legacy 5p buff to AOE dmg. Pre-summerset, when I cast an aoe dmg ability (consuming Varen's buff) this is reflected on my timer bar and notifications. Post-patch, however, the bar simply continues to decrease to 0 sec as if I still have the buff on me (after I have consumed the buff with AOE cast).

Yes, under all three scenarios I'd like to have the addon give notification (just like it did pre-summerset patch).

1.) 4 ranged attacks
2.) 6 sec duration passes
3.) recast wings before 6 sec duration

#2 and #3 apply to other standard buffs too such as Major Sorcery/Brutality, Major Mending, etc.

Right now, setting a notification @ .5 sec buff time remaining works perfectly. So under #2 it can signal when buff is almost expired. However, setting it to 0 sec simply breaks this functionality as nothing happens and no sound/notification is ever produced regardless of #1, #2, or #3.

However, if I attach a noise to the 0 sec buff timer mark (addon plays noise when buff reaches 0/runs out) the addon doesnít seem to register either buff removal scenario and plays NO noise regardless of whether I allow Wings to run out, recast <6 sec, or am attacked by 4 ranged.
It meant that you want to get noticed (with sound) when DK wings run out by reflecting all 4 projectiles, right?
