*****************************************************************************

Wykkyd Equipment Borders places color-coded borders around your gear in the inventory screen paperdoll slots. The addon will optionally list the percentage each item worn is damaged and the minimum level required to wear the item with a warning when the items are either severely damaged or the level of the item is far below your character's level.

This addon was originally created by Biki as Inventory Item Borders.
The Equipment Level feature submitted by BalticBlues.

!NEW feature by BalticBlues!
Can display equipped item level and warn when item is under powered vs your level.

Advanced Setting Controls (available in all Wykkyd's Addons)
  • Save To Default - This feature saves a snapshot of your logged in character's CURRENT settings as a save set named SYSTEM DEFAULT.
  • Load System Default - This loads the current SYSTEM DEFAULT as your character's settings and effectively sets your character to MIMIC the SYSTEM DEFAULT. This behaves exactly like Mimic below, with the exception that the SYSTEM DEFAULT only ever changes when you manually save to it from any character, by clicking Save To Default.
  • Mimic... - This sets the current logged in character to adopt the settings of another character until this value is changed. This causes the logged in character's saved settings to reset every time you log in or Reload UI to be like the mimic'ed character. If you set George to mimic Bob, as you save settings on Bob while playing those settings will become George's settings too whenever you log into George. As you play George and change his settings manually, those changes become temporary unless you clear the Mimic box. This affords some fairly awesome opportunities for your play sessions.
  • Wykkyd's Preferences (where available) - This will Reload UI and set your active character to the basic settings that Wykkyd uses for that addon for his characters as his STARTING point, he customizes each character from there and you are encouraged to also do so.
  • Reset All - Resets all settings inside the Advanced Setting Controls section for that addon, for that character

Use of SYSTEM DEFAULT allows you to basically create system-wide default settings. I say "system" because these settings are not filtered by account name. So if three people share your computer, they all adopt the system defaults (if they selectively choose to do so). This is a "neat trick" for people with multiple accounts as it lets you share settings across all of them.

For example, if you log into your first character and set every Wykkyd addon up the way you want. Then in each you click "Save To Default", one by one. You've now established your "baseline", if you will. You can then log into each character you have (regardless of number of accounts), including that same first character, and inside each, in each addon, click "Load System Default". Now every single character will use the same settings. In fact, because you saved defaults from character 1 and then set character 1 to use those same defaults, even that character is inheriting the SYSTEM DEFAULT every single time it loads. This means if you're on character 7 and decide to change your default for all, all you have to do is tweak your settings and click "Save To Default" and every single character you set up this way gets those settings automatically.

WARNING: System Default, and Mimic, can be dangerous. As of this time this ALSO includes saved item sets, gear sets, quest header settings, tracked achievements... IE: it includes data saved by the addons too. THIS WILL BE CHANGING IN THE FUTURE to be more intuitive and robust. But I didn't want to delay this feature until that was 100% polished. After all, this is fairly useful as is.

It's been a while since the last update of this addon, so I am not sure if someone will read this.
I wanted to know if it was possible to add the borders also in the inventory screen paperdoll slots of companions.

Please remove the builtin libs from the addon. It doesn't seem to need any other updates.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something somewhere but at CP160 the equipment level indicator is always red. Thanks!

It does depend on the manner in which ZOS implements the Controller API when finalized. The Controller UI may require only modifications to existing addons, or it may be best that new addons be created specifically for Controller support. Things like Equipment borders may be best if created as a Controller version of the addon to minimize the addon memory used. If controller support was integrated into the existing addon (since the UI is totally different) folks not intending to run controllers [and vice versa] would have to load extra code into memory that they will never use.

Add this overhead to all the addons typically running on a client and the RAM use delta becomes significant.

Granted, some existing addons will easily be used under both UI modes (like Toolbar)

Controller UI Support?

Once the Controller UI is released, do you plan to work on any addons to support it?

Fixed. Also noted that this was occurring for the Item Condition option as well (also fixed).

just noticed another 'bug'

if one changes your default settings and then proceeds to save them as system default, asking the addon to load system default on a different toon does nothing. Pop up warning about ui reloading appears, reload happens, and once back in..settings are still default. Have to manually change them on alts.
edit: this affects -all- options far as i've noticed

in case it helps, got current version of both addon and lib, do not have any file or folder marked as read-only

Yep clearly it's not important take your time, just found it cause I use this option ^^

But i checked in the LUA file, compared with Biki's version and I don't understand why this doesn't work.

So I made a barbarian fix : swap .dds files x)
Found what it was. It was saving settings to the wrong place. Fix should publish tonight.

if i may post something i noticed, the option for 'alternative borders' has no visual impact regardless of whether it's 'on' or 'off'
used to be, one of the two resulted in a much lighter hued and intense green border, whereas the other gave the a thicker non-glowing green one. I only seem to be getting the thick one regardless of the state i've chosen. Even after reloading my UI

however since this will be neither the first nor the last time i am in error, if i am missing something, do feel free to disregard all this. And thanks for all the work you've put in
