Known Issues: v3.1.1.0

None.

3.0.0.2
Complete re-write of the addon. The re-written addon has the look and feel of the old version but the mechanics work much smoother and the code is optimized.
Migrated Addon to Ravalox' addon catalog.

2.3.5.2
Updated to support ESO 2.2.4

2.3.5.1
Updated to correct "T" key quest cycle behaviour. (with thanks to Circonian for his assistance!)
Completed quest steps (for quests with mutliple steps showing) will now be greyed out)

Known Issues:
* QT UI flashes on the screen during questgiver conversations (and assorted other times).
* Under certain circumstances, Crafting quests (certification and writs) cannot be selected
by mouse. They can still be cycled by "T" key or Journal menu.

I have a partial fix in the works for the flashing issue. Circonian had written a modification that corrects the flashing but the QT UI scrambles when the Journal menu is used to change quests or a new quest is added. I've put in additional code that corrects this but causes an additional update issue. (therefore this fix is a WIP)

Since the Cycling of the Crafting Writs is a sporadic issue (it's affecting only two of my characters on my client, so ... odd.) I will work towards a solution, but it will not be as high a priority. :-)

2.3.4.0
Corrected code to work with ZOS changes to internal quest tracker. (They are preparing for Gamepad and Keyboard integration causing changes to ZOS Quest source code.)

2.3.3.3
This update is to support ESOTU 2.1 (API 1.7)
**NOTE: This addon is currently broken. Additional code needs to change to make it compatible with ZOS' quest tracker API changes.

2.3.3.2
This update (2.3.3.2) only updates supporting documentation to reflect the transition from Wykkyd to Ravalox and Balkoth under the name of Exodus Code Group. The LUA addon/library code has not been changed.

Announcements:

During the absence of the original author Calia, I provided live updates for this add-on for over a year.
This add-on was dysfunctional, but now it's mostly working correctly, although there are some known issues.

But I would like to clarify that I did not take over, and this add-on will continue to be Calia's work.
Therefore, she probably doesn't want to do a massive overhaul.

Last year, I was able to contact the original author via Discord.
She is still in a difficult situation, and it may be hard to spend time on this add-on.
We all pray for her health and recovery.

I will continue to be the temporal maintenance staff and provide only live updates until she returns.
Hence, please do not expect me to address any of the requests you have fed back here.

It works fine.
Maybe it's conflicting with other add-ons.
The option "Automatic Quest Tracking" is linked to the same item in the game menu interface settings.

If you have an add-on that automatically changes the same setting item in the game menu, there could be a conflict.

BTW, when this option was previously added to the game menu, ZOS forced this option to be switched off.

I had a post half written when I re-read your reply, and looked in the game settings. I had both the default quest tracker and the quest tracking setting off, and apparently addons can't trigger that back on. Now it works.
This game... Eh.

Oh, thank you. I should have explained it more politely.
It was very helpful that you explained the advice to everyone on my behalf.

I noticed today that my active quest was not being followed as it had been in the past. Looking at the most recent change log here, I then saw:
v3.8.2.14 ~ Calamath
* Since the 'Automatic Quest Tracking' setting was added to the vanilla UI in Update38, the same setting items in the add-on now work together.
* Updated to Necrom API (101038)
So to make this work correctly, you need to open in-game Settings > Interface and in the first section (Heads-Up Display), turn Quest Tracker ON. This will then allow you to turn Automatic Quest Tracking ON. You can then turn Quest Tracker OFF again.

Remember, this is a very old add-on and many years have passed with no development or management by the original author.

The original author has not abandoned this add-on and I have not taken over this add-on, but I am providing minimal maintenance based on personal good will and requests I have received from several personal friends.
It is a pretty big burden for me to redesign a design flaw without consulting the original author.
It is rare in my experience to find a developer who truly appreciate such an action.

I am not suggesting that you should switch to another quest tracker add-on that does not cause the problems you mentioned.
Please continue to use this add-on if you like it.

The original author may return and work on those issues someday.

- Calamath
No worries, thanks for taking the time to explain

I have a couple issues though, maybe you could take a look.

My main problem is that the "auto resize" option doesn't seem to work very well, and text frequently gets cut off unless I shuffle between all of my quests. It even happens when I manually resize the quest tracker to be extremely wide; I'm not sure if it's because I have my background set to "none", as this seems to happen less (or not at all, unsure) if I have a background enabled with full transparency.

One more (very small) issue is the weird text formatting for when bullet points are in quest objectives. Instead of showing a bullet point, it shows the star * character. I would rather just have that character omitted entirely if it's possible to change the contents of quest objective text.

Sorry if either of these issues have already been discussed and/or can't be fixed. I really appreciate you maintaining this addon.

I love this addon, I think it's the best quest tracker, and I love how customizable it is, especially since I hate how it looks by default

Hi PBnJ66!
Thanks for the info.
I know this occurs under rare conditions and the cause remains unknown.
I think the cause may be a bug on the EsoUI side, not the add-on itself.
But, I do have plans to add a failsafe in an upcoming update to avoid the UI error.

Please try version 3.8.2.12 or later and let us know if you reproduce the problem.

Is that you can identify and fix just with this info, or does it need to be troubleshot deeper?
Hi Octopuss!
Thanks for letting me know. I think that the recent update did not change the ESO code involved in the in-game Quest Tracker UI.
So we are not sure what caused the error in your environment.

The place where it occurs is at the beginning of the redraw process of the add-on quest tree.
If I cannot reproduce the same error, unfortunately, my investigation will not progress.

You may have reread the logs here and learned that the same error problem occurred around the time of the Blackwood Chapter. It was due to a bug in ESOUI.
But this time, as far as I logged in with PTS, the error did not occur in my environment.

We will rely on your information to see if we can reproduce the problem.
- Where does it occur? PTS or LIVE or both servers.
- Whether the error occurs with any of your characters?
- Is it characteristic of the quest you are taking when the error occurs? Are you taking a particular quest?

It would generally be a time-consuming and labor-intensive investigation to track down.

Please try version 3.8.2.12 or later and let us know if you reproduce the problem.
