Deconstruction Junk Marker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.0.21
by: code65536 [More]
This addon will add visual markers to indicate which items had been flagged as junk when you are deconstructing items.

If you have ever used the game's built-in mark-as-junk feature to flag unwanted items--e.g., items with bad traits--and then tried to decon those items, you will have noticed that there is no junk filter in the game's default deconstruction interface, and you will likely end up re-inspecting each item, trying to once again pick out the items that should be deconstructed.

This addon makes the game's mark-as-junk feature much more useful by visually marking junk items in the deconstruction window so that you can quickly pick out the items that you had flagged earlier.

I just tried FCOItemSaver. All I could get it to do is mark all sets auto. I could mark set manually ONE by ONE, but what I want is to auto mark sets when picked up with a icon of my choosing, like decon.

Looks like I will try "Items" by scootworks with this addon to get what I want.

You could use FCOItemSaver for this.
It is able to mark set items for deconstruction (non wished) and by the traits (wished ones) automatically.
You can manually define marker icons like "Keep" or "Check for retrait" and mark items with it.

The marked items are protected at the deconstruction panel, except the ones markes for deconstruction.
+ you can filter them to only show these, hide these, show all.
Addons like DoItAll for Mass deconstruction etc. respect these marker icons as well.

If you choose account wide settings you will have the same marker icons on all of your toons automatically + can copy them to other servers (EU, NA, PTS). Even the cahracter settings can be copied, also cross server. And the settings can be setup to be active for all accounts the same way.

While it will do that for me I was also hoping to also find something where I can mark decon by set name and this is remembered by the addon for the next time I collect an item from that set and the addon would mark it for me so that I no longer need to review all the gear I have recently collected and I think would be a good time saver.

Perhaps allowing the decon marks in addon Itemization Browser (or a copy of it merged with this addon) for a set and through this addon it could auto mark any matching gear items in bag, bank, coffers, guild bank (if specified).

Just an idea and thanks for writing this addon too

Sure.

In retrospect, maybe I should've named this addon "Junk Deconstruction Indicator". Because that's all that it does--visually indicate in the decon UI which items had already been marked as junk. Its function is entirely separate and different than that of Dustman. But they do synergize well.
