FCM Quest Tracker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.95.b9
by: DesertDwellers [More]

Fully Customize-able Multi Quest Tracker

Please report bugs and ask for new features only and directly through this portal, or leave a comment

Features :

More than 50 options !!!
  • Show more than one quest ! You can decide how many quests you want to display.
  • Box fully modifiable ! Choose your Titles and Texts Fonts, Colors, Overall Background Color and Transparency through a dedicated menu, adjust your box to the desired position and size !
  • Share quests, Remove quests, Filter quests by zone, Show quest on the map, Focus a quest directly with your mouse ! (Set the actions you want with the integrate mouse controller settings !)
  • Select witch quests types you want to display : Show/Hide Guilds Quests, Main Story Quests, Cyrodill Quests...
  • Show hidden quests info ! (Force all information for optional quests or hints)
  • Auto Focus for the newest quest or the last updated quest
  • Sort Quests by Zone+Name or Zone+Level
  • Displays the current number of quests
  • and more ^^

What is New
--------------
Release 0.95.b8 added option Hide Objectives Except on Focused, option will hide all objectives on all quests in the list except for the current focused quest.

Added option to hidden objectives and hints as well.

Plan is to looking at a Tool Tip option to see details of quests, and/or keybinds to hide these on the fly.

Recommendations:

Use the hotkey to change quests from default UI (normally "T") to navigate through quests, will work on better mouse functionality and better navigation.

If using CraftStore, I would recommend to move the quest tracker to the left side of screen if you are using either or both of the Provisioner or Enchanter crafting windows. The quest info for a writ from CraftStore does appear in the top right, so if you have the FCM Quest Tracker on the right, make sure it down far enough not to appear over it. Or use the keybind in the options to hide quest tracker when using these CraftStore options.

Feedback will be very appreciated ^^

Infos :
You can use a KeyBind command to completely Show/Hide the main window through the commands menu.

How to use FCMQT :
  1. Download - Use Minion it makes it far easier, then skip to step 3.
  2. Unzip the directory "FCMQT" to : Addons folder
  3. Launch the game.
  4. Go to "Settings" -> "Addons" -> "FCMQT settings" and set the window width, position your window where you want.
  5. Lock the position to enable mouse interactions.

Working on :
  • Add Quest Timer for quests that have timers.
  • Add Translations for Quest Timer and Hide Objective Options
  • Improve mouse navigation of Quests.
  • Work around for CraftStore
  • Improve default settings, currently still has the original layout.

For the Future, comment any new features you would like to see:
  • Add additional sort options and presets.
  • Display in more directions.
  • Track/Untrack specific quests.
  • Add several others assisted icons.
  • Add a Tool Tip to see more indepth quest information without opening the journal

Known issues in latest releases :
  • Untracked system break the "Next Focus Quest" rotation.
  • Untracked system are not fully fonctionnal.
  • Must use key bind to hide tracker when using CraftStore crafting.

0.95.b9
Fixed problem with library folder structure, and out of date notifications on them.

0.95.b8
Added a suggested feature to hide hidden objectives and hints.

0.95.b7
Added a suggested feature to hide the objectives/hidden info of quests that are not focused. With this option only the quest (and zone if selected) will show in the list, except for the quest that is focused then all of the objectives and hidden info will be displayed.

0.95.b6
Fixed errors while trying to create color pickers on removed code from last release. Sorry guys.

0.95.b5

Basically a maintenance release, removed some coding, and some options in the add on menu. Added the Show Quest Timer option, though it has not been implemented. Started working on a testing Quest Timer.

* Added option to Show Quest Timer - Does not function yet.
* Removed Level option since Tameriel One the quest level is equal to the character level.
* Removed sort option "Zone+Level"

As a precaution you may want to back up your savedvars file, however in testing I did not find any problems created by the changes in this update.

0.95.b1

API Update 100022
Libs are updated.
Holiday events showing properly is tested.
French and German language updates to Quest Types is included.

0.91.3 Libs Updated

0.91.2 I did put in coding for Holiday Events in the coding, it is untested that it will work at this point, however the addon is working

0.91 Fixed problem with 0.90c not loading, and registering as out of date.

0.90c Updated API 100020

Re: Re: Re: CLockwork city little problem

UPDATE
Please, do not bother with that, the addon works fine for me in all zones but that one BUT only for a personal wish. Also this character is actually low level and have a something like 22 / 25 quests, so its a lot of quests :P
As soon as i move on the other areas, everything is perfect, the zone and quests hide where i wish and show only what i want.
I think that ZOS did something particular with the place *the brass fortress* though as they are no reason that i can only show those quests and not the 22 i that area lol

But as i said, no worry i am rushing to finish all so i will not have to bother with it

final test :
So yes i have the quests showing IF and only IF i do not select the option : show quests in current area only. (seems that Brass fortress and clockwork city are considered by the game as 2 differents area, strange stuff )
Its ok i will manage with that. I prefer no quest showing rather than 25. I know i can choose the number of quests too, but doing so, if i reduce the number the selection is made so i can not see the area i am in but i can only see the quests in all other parts of the world lol.

And if thats really bother me i will use yours and ravalox for that area
Dont worry i can adapt

back on game and testing again.

Logging hubby account on my computer and with the basic settings of the addon, all works fine

Now i really scratch my head too lol

so i went back on my character look at the addon settings and found out the option to revert to default.

All working. with the default option and here now the tricky part.

What i want to show on the tracker is ONY THE QUESTS IN THE AREA I AM IN. and i do not want to see the name of any of the area beside the one i am in. i mean that glenumbra, gold coast etc showing while i am in clockwork is just taking all space on my screen, and i dont need those at all.

So i do this to start :

- Show quests in current zone only

As soon as i do this, no quests ever show up

so i will go on and test every possible option to have what i had before the last change as it was working fine for me. and i will come back to you if i found something.

Is there an option that changed and i would miss ?

Thank you

UPDATE : so i can see the quests of clockworkcity but only if i am outside the city, which is not very easy when you have to do a lot of quests inside the city, called The brass Fortress*

Is there an area ID different for that part ?

I will make a test by using only the game tracker and see if it is the same. I will post after that.

---------------------

I can confirm that with the game tracker i can have the quests inside the city showing up. Removing all addons but this one and testing again.
After disabling all addons but yours, the quests inside the clockworkcity brass fortress do not show at all. I can see them outside the city but not inside.

I made then a test with Ravalox'quest tracker and all the quests are showing.

I do not remember having this problem with old version of yours, so i will make a another test with an old version
Let me take a look at it.
I did not have any quests in Clockwork City, have not been there. So went a grabbed a few quests, one is a quest you had in your screen shot and I can see all of them in and out of the city, and went to other zones and still could see the Clockwork City quests.

What are your settings in the quest tracker or PM contents of saved vars file. At this point I am scratching my head to see how it is happening for you.

I think I found it

Thank you Playstyle and Anceane for your comments.

Between both your posts, playstyle pointing out he gets the error and he is setup not load outdate addons, and Anceanes comment about folder structure, I believe I found the issue.

Not to mention I have some of the same libs listed as out of date as well.

It was in fact the lib folder structure killing it, I did not see the error for one I do allow outdated addons, and two the libs were still loaded from other addons.

I redid the structure and it appears to be fixed.

Let me know if the latest update does not work.

I got the error on login (and reloadui). I dont think that there is a conflict specifically with Daily Autoshare. It just happened the first time when i installed that addon. Today i was getting the error all the time without having the other addon installed. I now went back to version 0.95.b5 and it works again.
I have a lot of addons installed, so finding any (reproducable) conflicts will be hard.

In ESO's Add-Ons menu both Lib;MediaProvider and LibStub are shown as out of date. I dont have Allow out of date addons enabled.

EDIT: Sent you a pm with my saved variables.

line 8 = local LMP = LibStub("LibMediaProvider-1.0")

if you go on your .txt the path for the lib is

Libs/LibMediaProvider-1.0/LibMediaProvider-1.0.lua

but in fact the folder is done like this

Libs/LibMediaProvider-1.0/LibMediaProvider-1.0/LibMediaProvider-1.0.lua
with a second libstub in that same folder

and 3 libstub folders in your whole section Libs.

i corrected your lib folder and i have no error so far. used it on low level and high level in VV, and gold cost.

---

this is just a suggestion for the cause of an error, i am so far not good enough to tell you what it is or not

The line you posted, is only loading a library. Not sure why there would be a conflict, I did not have the addon Daily Autoshare so installed it but getting no errors. Can you give me more specifics so I can attempt to duplicate it?

For example, what you were doing when the error occured, what settings you had selected in the addon.

I thought there was one, but apparenlty not.

I will work on that.
I also had someone PM me with this same suggestion. It appears I can do the optional objectives and the hints separately, so that is what I am going to do.

Will also put in an option to hide completes.
Okay, great Again, I already have the hints portion done if you want what I've done, to save you time. It didn't look like the addon used any sort of github or anything where I could push request, but I figured I'd let you know.
I totally misunderstood, sorry about that. I did the coding, if yours was different I would love to see it. Been planning to get it on GitHub, I use it for work, try to do that before weekend is out.
It looks like you did it the same way as one of the ways that I tried. Once I had it working that way, I changed it, a little, to make the code a bit cleaner. Instead of having the IF instead of each of the elseif sections, I used it on the call to AddNewContent.

Where you had
Code:
FCMQT.AddNewContent(z.index, k, z.step[k].text, z.step[k].mytype)
I just used:
Code:
-- hidhint
if z.step[k].mytype < 7 or z.step[k].mytype > 10 or FCMQT.SavedVars.QuestHideHintOption == false or FocusedQuest == true then
  FCMQT.AddNewContent(z.index, k, z.step[k].text, z.step[k].mytype)
end
(Note that my variable name is different, in case that's confusing)
I also had the option up near the option for hiding objectives because I felt that hiding hints went with it. I don't know enough about the language for the addon section, or I would have made the "Hint" option greyed out (and false) if QuestHideObjOption was set to false. Because if you're hiding the objectives you hide the hints, too.

Thanks for taking a look at it, though
