Port to Friend's House
Version: 1.4
by: Sordrak [More]
This addon let's you specify the name and house where you wan to port to.

Of course you still require the rights to enter a house, but with this addon, you can port to any house at any time. This allows you to visit secondary residences of other players at any time.

The addon can be used in two ways:
1) you can configure a keybinding to open the "Port to Friend's House" window or
2) you can use the command line.

Furthermore, you can define keybindings for up to 10 favorites.

The following commands are supported:
/ptf open -> opens the "Port to Friend's House" window
/ptf show -> displays all house IDs and their corresponding house names
/ptf port <player> <ID> -> this command let's you directly port to the specified house
/ptf fav <ID> -> Port to favorite <ID>

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

/ptf open -> Öffnet das Port to Friend's House Menü
/ptf show -> Zeigt eine Liste mit allen möglichen Häusern und deren ID an
/ptf port <player> <ID> -> Versucht zum angegebenen Haus zu porten
/ptf fav <ID> -> Zu Favorit <ID> porten
1.4:

Feature implemented: Autocomplete box, suggesting guild members and friends
Improvement: Mouse wheel support
Bug Fix: Row highlighting fixed when a row is being deleted

Depending on the size, you might open it with a text editor (e.g. notepad) and copy / paste the content. Otherwise you might use pastebin.com as the content of the file is text (lua code).

Furthermore, a screenshot of both your keybinding configuration and your "Port to Friend's House" window might help.

Edit: don't forget to log out or type /reloadui before copying the savedVariables content
I meant how do you wish me to send it to you, i.e. I don't have your contact information, or a means to send PM's on this forum (that I know of).

I'm in game right now, US server. @WhiteNoiseMaker
I've sent you a message here on esoui with ts3 connection data. I guess if we could talk things would be way easier.
thanks for reporting and the talk. I'll fix it as soon as possible.
The bug should be fixed with version 1.3.1

- Did you specify a favorite number in the "Port to Friend's House" window?

- Did you specify a keybinding for the same ID?

- If the above fails, is it possible to use the command line? e.g. "/ptf fav <ID>" where <ID> is the ID you specified in the "Port to Friend's House" window.

- Could you provide your savedVariables file? (e.g. C:\Users\<your_username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\PortToFriendsHouse.lua)
Hello! Thanks for the quick response!

I did specify the favorite number.
I did specify a keybinding too.
I did not try the command line though, I can set up numbers and keybinds again, and try once more with the command line this time.
I'll go ahead and test again, then send you a message with the saved variable file.

Thanks again! :-)

The message appears and I don't actually go anywhere. Using the Port function from the UI works just fine. It seems to only happen when trying to use the hotkeys assigned. I'm not 100% sure, but it also doesn't seem to like using anything from Numpad, combinations of Shift+, Alt+, or Cntrl+.

Anyhow, I love what you've done, and I hope you continue to improve the Add-On! Thanks so much for your hard work!

Saw your post on the forums along with the screenshots. Will test it when I get home from work. Looks promising with the keybinding to favorites!

The bug should be fixed with version 1.1.1.

Thanks for reporting.
Thanks, that fixed it. Would it be possible to keybind to the top of the favorite list, that way I could skip a step and open up the window, then pick (the only choice for me) friend house to port to - that would be a great feature for me!
Well, I'm having plans on further improving the addon. I will add this feature to the road map (something else currently has a higher priority). Unfortunately, I'm currently working on 3-4 addons (some of them will be released soon), so this might be slightly delayed due to the lack of time.

Furthermore, this might be a bigger change in the code, as the favorites are currently sorted. So defining a keybinding for the first entry would be pretty useless if it gets sorted. I might add a combobox with IDs 1-10 where 10 favorite keybindings can be defined (will have to think about how to solve this when i have more time^^).

Anyway, I will implement this as soon as I find a spare minute or two
One way to simplify would be to simply do the top choice, or check if there is only one entry. Regardless, for me, I only have my top guild hall on the list, which I jump to frequently when I'm doing master writs. Would save me a bit of time not having to do that extra step of pulling up the window and then clicking the port button. Either way, still very useful addon and thanks for writing it!

Well, I have good news.
I've implemented the feature yesterday.

Unfortunately, I'm struggling with the other feature I'm implementing which means that it will take a little bit more time for the next release.

But I hope that i can release the new version this week.
