Homestead item mover  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.01
by: Chibidragon [More]
A fork of homestead OCD ( http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1640-HomesteadOCD.html ) by Tacitalon. Since the original author seems to have abandoned the original AddOn I hijacked it. Basically most thanks should go to Tacitalon, he/she/it did all the hard work.

This addon allows you to move items in your homestead, and rotate them. I used numpad myself but you are free to use whatever floats your boat. Precise select a item by having it highlighted in housing editor and pressing the corresponding button. Then you can move it up, down or in four cardinal directions or rotate it if you switch modes to rotation.

The distance (or angle if you are rotating the object) can be changed, currently the distance doubles every time it's increased, with an exception of 225 units that is the length of a stone block sold by some home furnishing goods vendors. Rotation angle can be changed between several angles.

Also objects position, or rotation can be copied and pasted to a new object, making wall building almost as easy as it is in wildest dreams of the 45th President of the United States.

There is also a button to 'zero' a rotation of an object and switch between rotation and movement modes. Currently rotations go haywire if pitch is greater than 90 degrees, resulting a condition where to rotational axes are in the same plane, otherwise known as a gimbal lock. The rotational UI widget gives warning about this.

Installing the AddOn is simple, just copy it to Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns directory and extract there.

Hopefully someone is still working this add-on.

Since the latest patch the "Precise Select" is just like the normal left click to select.

I'm coming from Homestead OCD which supports decimals by manually typing in the value. Do you plan to support either decimals or manual input? I just bought Kragenhome and it seems the house was created with a default angle of 56.9. Once I can place furnishing at 56.9 degrees (I can do this with Homestead OCD), I can proceed with relative rotation (15/45/90) from there. Right now I can only use 56 or 57 which neither lines up with walls correctly. Other than this I think this addon is working perfectly for me.

Missing keybindings

Addon seems to work, except for one thing:

It doesn't save keybindings.

When I first start the game all of the controls are unbound. I can set them how I want and get no conflicts from the game and after that they work fine, but if I log out or /reloadui, the bindings will be removed again. Considering there are almost a dozen of them this seems tedious to do each time.

Is there a save /command I am missing?

Hey man, I love your mod. With the keybindings, it's more or less the perfect furniture manipulation mod for me. Only one thing I'm missing: Another lovely Homestead mod - Homestead Engineer - lets me choose between Absolute, Local, and Relative position/rotation. Any way a toggle for that could be added to this?

Usually I would much rather use a Relative position/rotation, since I tend to put the object down more or less where I want it, and then use your mod for fine manipulation.

You need to select the item first, with whatever button you have mapped to the precise selection key.
Ahhh...didn't notice the use of "Precise select a item by having it highlighted in housing editor" in your directions then relate it to the "precise select furniture key". I thought you just meant have the item highlighted...maybe change name of key from "precise select" to "press key first dumbass"

Will try this again :3

I tried to look in to this but couldn't reproduce this bug, I use my own User interface window since I couldn't get the original one to show new values after item had been moved, since the values shown there were actually input boxes.

While I was looking at my code, I did some (very) minor changes to the wordings. I'll release them after I figure out a best way to use blocks to build a tower in the western corner of the Domus Phrasticus.

Has Promise... But...

Hiya, I just want to say that this has a lot of promise because I really liked Homestead OCD and the addition of the easy-to-use keybind commands and copy+paste was a really good idea.

However the yaw/pitch/rotation commands do seem to not function at all. Binding and selecting Change Mode switches the positioning display, but none of the pitch/yaw/rotate key commands will work at all. Quite simply, nothing happens when you use the keys once you change mode.

I might request that you might add a keybind or UI method to switch back and forth between OCD's classic "numerical field entry' method and the new key input method, even if the Change Mode's key functions are fixed.

I hope you can fix the issues, and continue to maintain this add-on as updates progress.

EDITED: I uninstalled and then reinstalled this along with OCD at the same time... and once I did so, the keybinds for pitch/yaw/rotation worked correctly. I'm not sure why it didn't work properly the first installation or by itself, but you may wish to take a look at it and see if there's something in the code. Anyhow, now that I have it working fine, kudos and best wishes!

Fixed the error message

Oh snap. I fixed that issue, should always remember to wait until morning and do some additional testing before publishing. Well, as they say, you live and learn.
