Helmet Toggle, Dragon Bones  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v. 1.1
by: glorinand [More]
An update of the original HelmetToggle addon for the Dragon Bones patch.

The addon toggles both: polymorph helmets (by modifying the setting) and standard helmets (by activating/deactivating the collectible).

v. 1.1: If a hat is active before toggling, it is now properly restored once you toggle again, instead of showing the real helmet.

1.1 not working correctly

I went back to 1.0 as 1.1 only works IF you have had a collectible hat equipped already.

Can confirm, 1.1 can't remove the "hide your helm" collectible if you had no collectible hat shown before hiding it.

Collectible helmet active, use Helmet Toggle to hide then unhide -> works
No collectible helmet active, use Helmet Toggle to hide then unhide -> doesn't work

This is no longer working. Hitting either my keybind or typing ht in chat just tells me "you cannot use this collectible".

It doesn't seem to work with Outfit helmets at the moment though - am I doing something wrong or is this intended?

UPD: I meant in Automatic mode. It removes the Outfit helmet as intended after combat, but when I enter combat again I get a "You cannot use this collectible" message and nothing happens.

Cheers!
The same error msg happens using a keybind...

I have pushed v. 1.1, which, I believe, works correctly.

Haven't actually tested that, since I rarely use those, but no doubt it will default to the armour helmet. An interesting point. I will try to figure out a way to remember the previous hat. I am not sure there is an API for telling hat collectibles from other kinds of collectibles, I will need to look that up.

Of course I could always just activate the no hat collectible, remember what collectible that removes and afterwards restore that. I can see that this will be very annoying to think through and debug though.

Anyway, thank you for the suggestion, I will figure something out.

Replacing hats

Quick question before I install. If you're character is wearing a hat before you activate this, when you remove the 'No Hat' hat, does it put the original hat back in place, does it just default to the armor helmet you were wearing?
