Discord Status Updater
Version: 0.1.3
by: Medallyonify [More]
If you're using Discord and want to display more than just "Playing Elder Scrolls Online", this AddOn is for you.
By using this AddOn, your status on Discord will change to display Rich Presence information, including information about your character, your current location, your party, and more!

This AddOn comes attached with an executable, similar to how*Tamriel Trade Centre*uploads data. This program reads the SavedVariables for this AddOn, which must be initialised using '/reloadui'. The program needs to be active in order to send Status Data to Discord.

One caveat with this AddOn is that ESO only saves SavedVariables when the game is exited or when '/reloadui' is initiated. This makes it hard for Discord to always be up-to-date with what you're doing in the game. The AddOn does have a setting that can be found in "Settings > Addons > Discord Rich Presence", which allows the reloading of SavedVariables whenever you enter a new zone. This will add around 20 seconds to your loading screens (depending on your machine) whenever you load into a new zone, but will keep your status updated! This setting is toggleable, so you can turn it off if you don't want this behaviour (turned off by default).

If you experience crashes or find any bugs, or have any feedback, let me know. This project is open-source, the repo of which you can find on GitHub.
You can also find me on Discord by joining our ESO Server or by adding me:

27-06-2018: Update page description to be fancier and more informative. EDIT: Update <code> to <quote>.
27-06-2018: Change ZIP name so that files are exported into the correct AddOn folder ('DiscordRichPresence' instead of 'DiscordRichPresence-v0.1.3'). Also rename the AddOn page to make it shorter.

This is the step I was missing. First install put it in the wrong place, and i kept getting the error even after i re-installed it in the right place.

Thanks for that.

Hey there. first of all, thanks for trying this addon!

For 1., did you use the installer found on the GitHub page? If so, make sure that it installs the AddOn in the correct folder. By default, it installs it to "C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online", but you can change this path if your ESO Documents folder is somewhere else. In case you have installed the AddOn there and your ESO Documents folder is actually somewhere else, you'll need to delete that folder since the client will think that that's the correct AddOn location.

For 2., I noticed that Minion installs the AddOn with the ZIP name, which isn't what it's supposed to be (since the client will think the AddOn isn't installed). I've updated the filename to match the client, so you might want to try that again.

For 3., if you're reloading and the SavedVariables aren't appearing, then the AddOn probably isn't in the correct place. See 1. for help with this.

If you're still having trouble, you can contact me on Discord at "@Medallyon#5012" (with the '@').

Thanks for the kind words, Mortlach. I'll look into it

Keep at it, but add Mac support, too!
