JunkBuster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.61
by: ADH, Atoom
Now compatible with the current game Patch 3.3 Dragon Bones!

This addon provides a rule-based system to put items in your junk bag or destroy them

Unlike the other automatic junking addons, JunkBuster allows you to filter items by any combination of the following criteria:
  • Name
  • Item Type
  • Equipment slot
  • Weapon/Armor type
  • Level
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Trait
  • Item is crafted or not
  • Item is stolen or not
  • Item has a set bonus or not

For example, you can set it to only junk the ingredients you loot that have 0g price value, or the normal quality (white) stolen treasures (but not the green ones).

Other Features:
  • NEW: The addon can automatically sell junked items to a merchant (not stolen items) or a fence (stolen items) when visiting them
  • You can add exemption rules that save and unjunk any special item that you want skipped by junkBuster
  • You can add rules to DESTROY items upon looting
    Warning: Be very careful with the destroy option. Destroyed items CAN NOT be returned.

The screenshots show some sample rules that I use when playing.
There is an extended logging option available which provides the info for every looted item in the chatbox so you can fine-tune or make new junking rules.

Planned future additions:
  • Settings synchronization between different characters
  • Custom rule priorities
  • Add support for FCO Item Saver
  • Allow addon to apply rules to (guild) bank too?
v1.61:
* Updated API version for game patch 3.3

v1.60:
* new Filters:
Filter Weapons by Weapon type (Sword, Axe,...)
Filter Armor by Armor Type (Light, Medium, Heavy, Clothing/No Armor)
* Removed a useless lone "0 items sold for 0g" message
* A little more realigning of rule creation controls

v1.52:
* Reworked item level filter to include CP levels
* Realigned the controls in the create rule section to save some vertical space
* Updated LAM to 2.0r25

v1.51:
* Updated API version for game patch 3.2

v1.50:
* New Filters:
Filter equipable items (weapons and armor) by their slot (Head, chest, one handed, ...)
Filter items by them having a set bonus or not
* Stolen junk is now sold sorted by price instead of quality at a fence
* Updated, sorted and corrected item types for rules. Tell me if a item type that you need / were using is missing
* Dollar signs for item prices changed to small g (gold)

v1.40:
* Added option to automatically sell junk when visiting a merchant (non stolen junk) or fence (stolen junk)
* Added option to filter for stolen or not stolen items
* Added option to add crafted items to rules
* You can now open the settings panel by typing /jb into the chat
* Corrected some trait and item quality names
* Item qualityies except Normal now colored in their respective colors in the rules display
* Grouped the on/off settings a bit

v1.31:
* Provisional fix for the rules display in the settings panel disappearing

v1.3:
* Updated for HotR / API 100020
* Changed Settings Pannel from LAM-1.0 to LAM-2.0r24
* Items crafted by a player are currently ignored (will not be junked or deleted)
* Many small fixes and improvements
- Disabled junk Trial run (never worked for me, may be fixed and reenabled in the future)
- Disabled Filter by crafting type (never found a use for this filter, tell me if you want it back)

v1.21:
* Update to new API version
* Removed a couple of item types that were obsolete

v1.2:
* Updated API version
* Changed the way rules are stored (thanks [email protected])
* Rulesets can individually be turned on or off
* Laid the foundation for autobanking framework

v1.12: Added minimum level and price options

v1.11: Fixed a bug in item trait comparison. Thanks alisu!

v1.1:
* Several bug fixes
* Added rules to save and unjunk items
* Added rules to destroy items

v1.02: Added 'No Traits' option as per requests

v1.01: Made reporting in chat box to appear the same style as the rules in settings box.

Rare Fish

Hello, this is the best junk handler add-on I've tried the others. The one and only thing that is bothering me at the moment is that the Rare Fish I catch I cannot get this add-on to classify them as junk no matter if I use the trophy category or the fish category. Any luck this can be fixed? they are only good for selling to the merchant. There are a lot of rare fish in this game

Booted

I get booted when I sell more than about 90 items, I think it has something to do with pinging the server too many times. Could you interval the sales to add a millisecond between every 20 items or something? It might slow it down just enough to keep me online. Thanks

Will take some time to implement, so will include a solution in the next large update. Will be prob when summerset launches and I'll start playing Eso again (yes I will xD).

Unfortunately Im pretty sure this is not possible with the current setup. I have had the same issue several times and it gets pretty tedious to have to explicitly spell out tons of specific keep rules just because you wanted to filter out a few items that must always be sold. Keep rules take priority over Destroy and Junk rules, and Destroy take priority over Junk. This seems hardcoded into the addon. To change this you would have to change/add code. It certainly would be nice with an "override priority #" field next to each rule so that you could override a specific rules priority (and manually set it to either 0,1,2 or 3).

For example (just an example, you probably wouldn't want to keep any treasures ) :

- Keep all Treasures [default priority 1]
- Destroy all Common quality Treasure [priority override 0] [default priority 2]
- Junk all epic Treasure [priority override 0] [default priority 3]

Would keep all treasures, but all Epic Treasures would still be junked because of the manually overridden priority set to 0. Likewise would all Common quality treasures be destroyed because manually overridden priority set to 0.

Or here's a different approach: imagine if you could move each rule up and down in the hierarchy, that'd be very awesome I think!

Is there any way to have the rules filter junk from the keep list without having a keep rule for each type of item you aren't trying to junk? I'm trying to have certain items junked or destroyed based on criteria that comes after the general blanket statement that would also apply to the item I want junked. Maybe an ability to arrange the rules so that I can put destroy and junk above keep rules?

For example:

Keep any Epic quality item except Treasure

or maybe

Keep any Epic quality item except [Rule #]

Heya!

@April: Its definitly on the top of my toDo-list but sadly im currently not actively playing Eso so im only fixing bugs right now, but won't do new features.

@aleris_1988: Hmm strange, works here. Does the addons settings menu say that the autmatic junk selling is enabled?

@WalkswithChrist: If for some reason a certain new item is automatically put into junk before you installed my addon (if you had no others of the exact same type in your inventory prior) than its maybe another addon you have that does that. This should not happen in the vanilla game (only manually marking there).
Sadly if this is the case my addon can't help with that because if it's set to keep items it will indeed unmark them from junk. BUT another addon can have its own handler for new items you loot. If that one is executed after JunkBusters handler then the other addon can set the junk mark again and there is nothing JunkBuster could do to prevent it.

Great addon, just one thing. I'm noticing all my 'Museum rubbings, and museum', pieces are getting sent to Junk on it's own. So I installed your addon, configured it and see the chat msg, 'kept[X]', but when I look, it's inside the Junk inventory. How do I not have this happen? Thanks!

Any chance you could change it so that the settings are account wide? Or at least put that as an option so I don't have to enter and maintain the filters on 14 different toons

Thanks

housing recipies

I tend to junk green provisioning recipies (food and drink) - can you make it so it distinguishes these from housing recipies which I want to keep please ?

Hello Sullie,
tried to reproduce your Error. Junking Petty Repair Tools works fine here (with name filter "petty" and item type "tool").
It might be that the "Keep"-rule targeting all tools is still active for you? Its in the default rules added to all characters when first logged in with the addon active. Keep rules overrule junk or delete rules so that may prevent your rule from working. If you want to see which rule the addon applies to a newly looted (or crafted/bought from vendor) item you can switch on the reporting settings in the addon config pannel. If all settings there are active the addon prints a message for each new item detailing if it got junked, destroyed, kept or looted. (Looted meaning no rule applied to this item).
I hope that explanation helps you
