Item Saver  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.4.1.0
by: Randactyl, ingeniousclown
This started as a simple mod that allowed you to place a little marker on your items so you could remember to not accidentally sell or deconstruct them.

With Item Saver 3.0.0.0, that simple functionality is extended with some awesome new features:
  • Choose whether items are saved in general or uniquely - Save multiple stacks of the same item or give duplicates their own sets!
  • Choose to filter marked items from any combination of vendors, the deconstruction list, the research list, the guild store tell tab, the send mail window, and the trading window.
  • Create as many different sets of items as you like, all with their own save type, marker texture, color, and filtering rules.
  • Add your own marker textures to use for Item Saver sets (details below).

Full feature list:
  • Create a new item set with the "+ Create Set" context menu option.
  • Choose your set's name, save type, marker, color, and filters.
  • Choose your default save set.
  • Keybind for saving items to the default set.
  • Choose one of nine possible marker positions.
  • Item sets are listed in a submenu when right clicking an item.
  • The context submenu can be deferred until there are more than a specified number of sets created (1 - 5).
  • Edit created sets. Any changes will update immediately without needing a UI reload.
  • Quickly clear all items from a set.
  • Delete sets you no longer need.

Want some more marker textures to choose from? Check out Item Saver - Advanced Filters Marker Textures or see below to create a new texture pack for yourself. It's super easy!

Item Saver features an API for other addons to integrate with Item Saver's functionality. The full Item Saver API is listed here:

---

The new API for adding marker textures takes its inspiration from Inventory Grid View's skins and Advanced Filters' dropdown filters.

There are code examples in the markertextures folder in Item Saver's root directory.

You may submit your markers as plugins for Item Saver on ESOUI.
Do this by:
  1. Go to http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info300-ItemSaver.html (this page).
  2. Click on "Other Files" between "Change Log" and "Comments"
  3. Click on "Upload Optional Addon"
  4. Enter all relevant information and attach a .zip file containing the folder that contains your plugin.
  5. Submit

The archive hierarchy should look something like:
Code:
IS_MyMarkerTexture-1.0.0.0.zip
    IS_MyMarkerTexture
        markertextures
            MyMarkerTexture.dds
        IS_MyMarkerTexture.txt
        IS_MyMarkerTexture.lua
Remember to include all readme and disclaimer information required by ZOS.

Your addon manifest should look similar to the following:
Code:
## Title: Item Saver - My Marker Texture
## Author: Randactyl
## Version: 1.0.0.0
## APIVersion: 100012
## DependsOn: ItemSaver

IS_MyMarkerTexture.lua
Your title should retain the leading "Item Saver - " in order to keep things organized in the game's addon menu.
ItemSaver must always be included in the DependsOn line.

Unfortunately saved item icons don't appear in the Deconstruction Assistant. Anyone who can point me in the right direction to add this?

Re: Great, but outdated

You can either use the comment by "YKv5cdt1AyhA" below to fix the addon for yourself,
or you can switch to the addon FCOItemSaver which basically provides the same features (+many more).

It's not as light-weight as the ItemSaver here, but it's still supported and updated.
And it provides additional helpers, mass marking of items, automatic marking of items, integration in many other addons that do mass deconstruction/extraction/selling etc. to always protect your items properly.

Unfortunately, the 2018 last update age is beginning to weigh on it pretty heavily and I can't recommend using it anymore. It's using long-deprecated libraries and consistently throws UI errors, often breaking core functions of the UI until it is disabled, like being able to exit crafting stations. Since the last major game patch, it has made it so items often don't disappear from your inventory when you bank or sell them.

RIP one of the true great "must have" add-ons of yesteryear.

Thumbs up @YKv5cdt1AyhA

Your solution works excellent!

After trying whole day which of my ~ 80 addons make problems I realized that Item Saver is the reason that GUI disappears, items don't disappear from inventory after selling and much more different problems.

Then I found your posting, testet it and- works perfectly.

Thank you very much!

The trace shows that it still uses LibFilters-2.0 which is not working.

Unfortunalety, I don't know how to make a patch for addons on this site. So this is the manual how to completelly remove nested libs and start to use external libs in ItemSaver. Doing this should fix the errors you have:
1. Remove Addons/ItemSaver/libs folder
2. Change dependencies in Addons/ItemSaver/ItemSaver.txt Remove nested libs usage, OptionalDependsOn and add DependsOn section with required libs to the file.
Final result should be like:
Code:
## Title: Item Saver
## Author: Randactyl
## Version: 3.5.0.0
## APIVersion: 100033 100034
## SavedVariables: ItemSaver_Settings
## DependsOn: LibFilters-3.0>=317 LibAddonMenu-2.0>=31 LibCustomMenu>=694 libAddonKeybinds

strings/en.lua
strings/$(language).lua

main.lua
util.lua
settings.lua
dialog.lua
dialog.xml
API.lua

bindings.xml

markertextures/boxstar.lua
markertextures/flag.lua
markertextures/padlock.lua
markertextures/star.lua
markertextures/timer.lua
3. Change Libs 'initialization' in Addons/ItemSaver/util.lua to use prorer libs version.
Replace
Code:
util.lam = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-2.0")
util.LibFilters = LibStub("LibFilters-2.0")
with
Code:
util.lam = LibAddonMenu2
util.LibFilters = LibFilters3
This is what I did and addon works well for me. I hope this would help you.

This happens when trying to trade with any NPC merchant.

Changing to libfilters 3 (as suggested in a comment) did not work.
I've not tried changing to libfilters 3 but I am running into the same problem.
Yeah, me too - changing to 3.0 broke the addon so I changed it back.
