Rare fish are protected species across Tamriel. When you catch one, you have to throw it back; that's why they never show up in your inventory.

UPDATE with Update 3: You now can keep your rare fish. So rare fish will now show up in your loot announcer if you use one! But I will still continue to keep this add-on up to date, just in case anyone finds it useful.

But if you use auto-loot, how do you know you've caught a rare fish in the first place? Your achievements update the first time you catch a specific fish, but beyond that, you don't. Enter Catch and Release!

Catch and Release is an add-on that turns off auto-loot ONLY WHEN YOU ARE FISHING, and turns it back on again after you are done. This gives you enough time to record your catch, take a picture, etc., before throwing the fish back!

Still getting a random delay with auto-loot turning back on for regular looting after fishing. It only seems to (sometimes) affect the first non-fishing item looted (container, dead mob, etc), then auto-looting kicks back in. Not much of a bug, just a bit odd.

Turns out, it does...sometimes. When you close the loot window. I'm working on detecting all the ways you can end your fishing session while bypassing the loot window.
