Ultimate UI Hider  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v1.75
by: SilentShanx [More]
An addon that actually hides all of your UI. Great for removing clutter for those beautiful screen shots!!

Things it hides:
*************
-The standard UI
-In world group member markers/indicators
-Glow effects on interactable items/targets.
-Quest follower markers/indicators
-Quest Bestower markers/indicators
-Quest items in world
-Quest completion NPCs
-Nameplates of all sorts
-Resurrection markers/indicators
-Pvp/alliance markers/indicators
-Chat bubbles (Note: You will still have to wait for the current chat bubbles to fade. This is a limitation by ZOS at this time.)

Usage:
*******
/hideui
or
ESC > Controls > keybindings > Ultimate UI Addon > Ultimate UI Hider Toggle

Notes: If there is anything that is not hidden. Please leave a comment.

Problems with settings not being in sync?
1. Try "/reloadui".
2. Go to settings and set things how you like them to be then "/reloadui" and/or relaunch the game.
3. If all else fails, set your preferred settings in ESO, close the game and delete the savedVariables file "UltimateUIHider" and then re-open your game.
4. If none of those steps fix the issue. Please post a comment.

PSA: I am no longer playing ESO and thus no longer able to test this addon for new patches that are released. This addon is fairly basic and should continue to work and thus I encourage you to continue to use it. I will attempt to update the API version so that it doesn't complain about being out of date. If you have any issues with the addon, please feel free to post a comment or message me directly. If you are interesting in taking over this addon, also shoot me a message.
v1.75
-Updated API version for summerset.
v1.74
-Fixed a bug where loading to a new area when the UI was off would unintentionally saved settings in the off state.
v1.73
-moving from svn to git.
v1.72:
-Updated API version so the add on doesn't show out of date.
v1.68:
-Added support for chat bubbles. You will still need to wait for current bubbles to fade.
v1.6:
-Updated addon for 1.6. Changed version of addon to match ESO version.
v1.0:
-Added SVN support and updated versioning scheme.
v.7:
-Fixed most syncing issues. *note: You might need to do a one time clear of your saved variables for "UltimateUIHider"
-Cleaned up code for better performance and organization.
v.6:
-skipped due to some bugs
v.5:
-Added the ability to hide nameplates of all sort
-Added the ability to hide resurrection markers
-Added the ability to hide pvp/alliance markers
v.4:
-Added the ability to hide quest items in world
-Added the ability to hide quest completion NPCs
v.3:
-Ultimate UI Hider will now save your previous settings so that when you turn your UI back on, all your preferred settings stay in tact.
v.2:
-Added the ability to hide quest followers and bestowers (givers).

This plugin still works. Though, I can't speak for the chat bubble issue....
The only problem I have found is that in using the console command, once you do, you can't get the console back to re-type /hideui. You also can't get to the esc/exit menu.

So my suggestion is to be sure to set up a mapped key for it. That way you shouldn't have to force quit ESO to get your UI back.

Chat bubbles

Using this addon to hide the HUD disables chat bubbles but then unhiding doesn't reenable them. If you still maintain this, it would be nice if it reenabled them on unhiding.

sadly, I have a problem with one of my chars after hiding the UI and showing it again. for this one character, neither group markers nor quest giver markers are displayed anymore. and the vanilla settings don't offer an option to turn them on again (or off in the first place). I can only toggle, whether they should be displayed on compass, or not.

can I somehow turn the markers on again, ingame?

help would be appreciated.

btw. this seems to be the same problem, which is discussed here:
http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?p=26850

EDIT: there IS an option to enable/disable these markers ingame. just found them under the nameplates settings. anyway, there still seems to be some randomness caused by this mod, like in the discussion above
Hey feyii,

Sorry for the late reply, I don't actively play ESO anymore but here is what I gathered. There is a problem with zoning either shortly before or shortly after toggling this addon. It seems to be the intended design so you don't hit the message rate limit and get booted from the game (booted myself several times when I was testing this addon). It seems to be a relatively new safe guard at least since I last updated the addon as during my extensive testing (me and my group of friends x4), we didn't run into this problem.

That said, did you try, ScreenshotHelper? The thread you kindly provided seem to be open ended with no real solution.

If ScreenshotHelper does work I would be more than happy to put the work/effort into updating this addon ( or use that addon) but without a real solution to the problem, there likely isn't much I can do.

Let me know
-Shanx

By "f*cks up chat" I mean that when I press Enter while the add-on is active, my chat is bugged afterwards and I have to click on a nickname to whisper it, because enter won't open a chat box anymore. Could you look into that, please? I'd appreciate that a lot.
This addon doesn't call any functions relating to chat. This addon uses the ESO built in UI toggle to hide chat related UI elements. Best guess is that the ESO built in UI toggle, when activated, doesn't handle the hit-enter- when-UI-is-hidden problem. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to fix this issue.

So I took a look at chat bubbles. They are still in beta according to ZOS. With that being said, the addon will now indeed turn off the chat bubbles however you will need to wait for the current bubbles to fade. This is a limitation by ZOS and I have submitted a bug/improvement to them to address it. It's on them at this point.

agreed, I don't know of any other addon that is focused on broad and configurable hiding of UI elements. Hopefully someone will resurrect or replace it with similar.
