CraftAutoLoot  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.4
by: Jhenox [More]
This addon is for the English client only but I welcome anyone to add in the necessary strings for other languages.

This is a very simple add-on that automatically turns on autoloot when your target is a crafting node such as wood, ore, plants, herbs, glyphs, water, fishing node, or other crafting related container and turns it off if it is anything else.

I enjoy crafting so I have to pick up a lot of ingredients but I don't want endless amounts of junk from tables and containers so I put together CraftAutoLoot. I have been using this for a while now with no problems so now I would like to share. Please, enjoy and I hope you like it.
1.4 2017-05-21

Did you disable it from the add on menu? If so I'm unable to help further, I had problems myself recently.

Having problems

This is currently not working for me so I had to disable it. I also have Advanced AutoLoot Renewed add on and that was not working, I went through the list disabling until it working and it was conflicting with this addon craftautoloot. When I goto ores and wood etc it is no longer auto looting, I'm not sure why but I had to disable it for other add ons to work, I wish it would work again I use it all the time, any ideas why this may be? Thanks

Hello. Sorry for taking so long to respond. I will take a look to add that feature. Thank you for the feedback.

I'm still using the 1.2.8 version to avoid auto-looting the provisioning containers. I haven't run into any problems using the older version, other than needing to allow the game to run out-of-date addons.

I've looked at some of the other autoloot addons, but I just feel like this is the best one and, except for the provisioning containers, it does exactly what I want. It would be nice to have an up-to-date version that doesn't include the provisioning containers, but I can understand if the author doesn't want to support additional options.

@Jhenox
Thanks for your work and making such a useful addon!

Hello. Sorry I took so long to reply. I've been really focused on another addon. A little while back I added in the autolooting of a lot of the general containers that usually contain crafting items. You might be interested in something like Smarter AutoLoot (S.A.L.) or Dustman. Those addons have more sophisticated autoloot/autojunk/autodestroy mechanics.

Hey, no worries, I'm glad you approved!

I think there might be some containers specific to DLC that I've missed, but they appear very rarely, so it's not a big deal; there's also the "Heavy Crate" you find in Coldharbor only, same possible contents as the Sack.

Also, not entirely sure if adding the action == "Search" conditional is necessary, I'll test it without it, in a while and let you know!

Thank you for this! Is the general consensus that people would like this to be added? Are the barrels and crates too general or are people ok with all of the non crafting items they will be autolooting? Thank you for the help!
Maybe a slash command to toggle containers could be a solution? I prefer to auto loot everything with crafting materials in it.

The "Heavy Sack" is missing here. Not sure if there's anything else.

Sorry I missed some of these recent posts. I just assumed everything was working normally so I wasn't checking as often. Is it really not working for you?

While I'm not familiar with LUA, the code looks simple enough (and that's a compliment! ) and I can't help but to wonder if the "container" variable could be used to get the name of the container you're looking at; that way adding a condition of enabling autoloot when action == "Search" but also when container == "Barrel" etc should do exactly what I want it to do.

Not quite sure about the syntax, but I reckon this will work :
Code:
if action == "Mine" or action == "Collect" or action == "Cut" or action == "Reel In" or ((container == "Barrel" or "Sack") and action == "Search") then
Anyway, your input would be most appreciated and thanks again for your work!

:P
It's much less elegant but... it actually works! Well, sometimes the autoloot does not turn off properly, for some reason, but I guess that's due to how the commands are processed; although I wonder if it would be possible to tighten this up... hm.
Thanks for this! It's a welcome addition
