Color Items in a Set or Manual Color?

I have no idea if either of these ideas are possible ...
It would be great to also color items which belong to a set as defined through the Wykkyd's Outfitter addon. (only addon like this I know of so far).
Alternatively, if there was a way to (right click?) and choose to manually color items.
My idea is to use Blue to color...

I am desperate for a simple add on to give a heads up indicator of which weapon bar I am currently using. Could you make a similar addon to color the reticle (or even better rotate it 45 degrees) depending on which weapon bar you are using. For instance if you are using weapon 1 then it could be + and if you are using weapon 2 it...
