MSVCR100.dll missing and Error loading jvm.dll
I have installed Minion, and attempted to start the client. it returned an error saying that I am missing MSVCR100.dll. Once I clear that error it then prompts me saying "Error loading jvm.dll" and then "Failed to launch JVM".

I have resolved the problem.
I went to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=26999 and downloaded vcredist_x64.exe from the options, installed and both errors went away. |
Thanks for the update. We will add that to the install process if its missing from the users system.

Did that to and it worked fine afterwards |
Tried, and tried again
I tried this fix and I am still getting the very annoying, "Error loading jvm.dll" message whenever I try to run Minion. I downloaded the vcredist_x64.exe and chose the repair option first. I still got the error, so I tried removing the redist and reinstalling it. Same result. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Any suggestions?

Sounds like did everything listed here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...f-0d1ff28d4375 .
You are getting text saying you are missing MSVCR100.dll right? |

My thread is here http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthre...=2184#post2184 only covering that problem. |
same errors..fixed
Hello,
I had the same two errors listed above. I first downloaded the C+ 2010 and then noticed that java had an update avail. I went ahead and started that as well. Minion now opens just fine. Although...when I tried opening minion, the java update was still sitting on I think the last screen where it wants me to pick the extra stuff it adds, not sure if it was fully installed on that point. My pc is win7, 64 bit, 6 core, 16 gb ram. (I doubt that has anything to do with it, but hey) Also, the installer worked perfectly on my windows surface pro (first gen) 126gb. that of course is Win8. Seems maybe some missing stuff with the win7 installer? I don't do coding, I just fix hardware for a living, so I have no idea. Coding has always eluded me..like math :) According to control panel, these are the Javas I have. need anything else, please let me know. I may not be able to respond til EOB during the week, but i'll try Java7 update 9 Java 6(tm) update 30 (64 bit) java fx 2.10) |
I'm having the same problem.
After it finishes installing then I get a pop-up saying "Error loading jvm.dll" which is followed by another pop-up saying "failed to launch JVM". It does the same thing if I manually launch it again. Tried a couple of the suggestions mentioned in this thread but still no change. Let me know if you would like any more information. |
Do you all have java fx 2.10 installed? That should not be installed with Java7. Maybe that is causing a conflict?

I have exactly the same problem, I have Java 32 & 64 bits installed and Microsoft Redist :\

Install the VC++ redistributable packages or reinstall Java
Since Msvcr100.dll is a part of Microsoft Visual C++ and is required to run programs developed with Visual C++, the missing error will occur if there is no relevant software on your PC. When encounter the missing error, you can download and install the VC++ redistributable packages to fix the problem.
Click on the links below to download the package you need: 32Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/de-de/downl...s.aspx?id=8328 64Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=13523 Jvm.dll is Java Virtual Machine, a dynamic link library associated with Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It is the actual Windows implementation of the JVM (or better, the main entry point). It is used by C or C++ applications to run an embedded Java runtime. As the module is part of java, reinstalling the software might fix the problem. |
