Simply Put, (I would assume) there are players like me who aren't in trade guilds, but would like to know the percentage of value an item is less or more then. By this I mean, lets say I have a banana(
) someone listed for 10,000 gold, but ttc price is only 3-4, that would be an increase in nearly 3,600% . Master merchant has a feature for this, but ttc doesn't. The only problem is that MM requires a lot more data then ttc, and I personally am not in a trade guild to have the data MM need's. The basic math (correct me if i'm wrong) Would be the median of the range of ttc's price, divided by the price listed (I'm not good enough at math to factor in more then one item).
