If you zoom your map out of zone and re-enter the zone it will refresh the pin locations (not leaving the zone, just changing map views). If you are using a minimap, refreshing it's pins will also work. Forcing a refresh of all pins at each chest find (old especially or new) would be a hassle for fps/efficiency.
