Introducing Minion, our AddOn Updater!

We are happy to announce that our Minions arrived a little while ago and, although they still need a bit more training before they are fully housebroken*, are now big enough to be adopted! We are really excited about it and we hope you will be too!

Minion: A free, eager-to-please little monster lackey of your own, with enough sense to stick to orders! Minion can handle all the 'work' assigned, letting you get back to the 'serious business' of playing your game sooner.

You can go here to get your very own Minion. Please use this forum to provide feedback and receive support.

Be sure to make a backup of your AddOn and Saved Variables folders before running Minion.

*Housebroken: Trained to act and behave appropriately indoors, much like a puppy. aka: beta

Woot! Thank you for showing me this! It's amazing. I just wish it could find the Addon folder automatically that would be amazing!

Does the "Find More" list automatically refresh as new addons are added? OR do we need to close and re-open Minion to see more addons?

Cool, thanks for that!
I don't like the scanning of my computer - but then again, it's free software. I will however run it in a virtual machine :-P

Serious question: Why is it so large?

That's huge for an addon manager that checks for latest version and if not there, download and extract.

It includes its own version of Java so that you don't have to have it installed. It creates a java virtual machine. The jar it self is only about 700k and when we push out client updates that is all Minion downloads.

There absolutely are. There is just a slight bug with creating a 32 bit version that we are still trying to work out. It's very definitely in the works though.

I just wanted to offer a suggestion for your drop down menu. Could you add a NEW sort function. As more and more addons are added and released, Id like to be able to see when only new ones are added. maybe 1-15-30days or something.

love minion. keep up good work!

Check the 32bit thread in the Minion forum. There is a download link with a test version.

*nod* We know about that one. We're working on a fix for it, but closing and re-opening Minion will make the 'stuck' updating bar go away, in the meantime.

What would be great is integration of 'installed' add-ons to your profile. Would that be possible?

Also in Minion, could do with a feature so your installed add-ons can be activated or deactivated.
