Minion stops at startup

Hello all,

my wife has got a new computer and both of us normally use minion for our ESO addons.
It worked fine unless I installed it on the new laptop.
Both of us are running an Alienware laptop with Win8.1 (64) German and McAfee Internet security.
Both computers have got the same configuration (as far as I can figure out) and it works fine on my machine.
I have tried the 32bit and 64bit version. Installation is no problem but at first startup Minion symbol appears on the start bar but then stucks. As it seems to be a connection problem I uninstalled the whole McAfee and then deactivated Windows firewall and defender which did not help.

Has anyone got an idea what could be wrong?

Please answer in simple English as I am German and a "normal user" no a computer expert.

I have the exact same issue. Tried reinstalling it on different drives etc. installation is fine, but when trying to start it, it just popsup with the grey minion logo screen and then nothing happens from there. Tried many times now. My mate installed it and it works just fine for him so we aren't sure whats going on.
