Which operating system and minion (32 bit/64 bit) are you using?
Do you use an antivirus software that could potentially block it?
Did you install it over the previous version or uninstall and reinstall it?
Does it work when you rename the .minion folder in your user folder where the log file is located?
64 and 32
just installing on top
of the antivirus turned off.
I turned off the collection policies. I'll check.
overloaded the computer
rename the .minion folder

Ugh. I had a second virus program running in the background that I thought I had removed from my system almost 2 years ago (because the license expired).
So once I noticed that, I turned it off, and I was able to download the new version of Minion.

I uninstalled the old version (3.0.11) before installing the new version (3.0.12), and it's working fine.

this worked for me.

I had 3.0.11 with no connection error.
I uninstalled 3.0.11 keeping the settings when asked.
I then downloaded 3.0.12 the 64 bit version.
Installed it when asked if I wanted same folder selected yes and all worked.

when I tried installing on top of old version al I got nothing when Minion was run.

after complete removal and installation, it worked. but it takes a very long time to load the list. it's been going on for 5 minutes. and for sure now there will be inconsistencies of addons again. alfa gear 2 is back on the list as alfa gear 3. We'll have to rearrange it.

I uninstalled 3.0.11 and installed 3.0.12. Once it had loaded up and I chose ESO and the addon directory, I closed it down, mainly as nothing was showing in the game or addon list.

When I opened it again, ESO appeared and all my addons were there with one needing an update

I think I found a problem with how the ignore list is handled. Seems the new JRE behaves a bit differently and when an addon no longer exists on esoui it will break Minion due to that.

Could you try to edit your minion.xml and remove everything between the lines that contain "<ignored>" and "</ignored>"? That worked for me.

I installed a new version
and edited minion.xml . deleted it as written.
It didn't help. it doesn 't start the same way .

p.s. everything works on the computer where I deleted it completely.

Could you please upload the whole minion.log and minion.xml file somewhere?
The part you posted earlier is just the last two lines and doesn't tell anything about what is happening.

Thanks to sirinsidiator for the fix and shoutout to Sun/Oracle for insisting on building a custom SSL implementation for Java instead of relying on OpenSSL and SChannel from the operating system.

Thank you very much. :3

I've uninstalled the program, left the configuration intact (opted out of having it removed), installed the new version, and everything is back to normal here.

This solution worked for me, as well.

Make sure it downloads the new version

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling. The first download linked to an old version of Minion (3.0.5). Make sure it tries to download the 3.0.12 version.
What I don't understand is why it broke like this, and why it's showing me incorrect versions of addons installed that I need to update, that don't need updated since I have the latest versions.

Minion reinstall fixed the issue

I removed and reinstalled Minion and it works now and all of my addons were still there.

Yes, it was exactly the same for me. I downloaded then tried to install the new version on top of the old, then when I tried to run it the app never appeared and there were no error messages. I then deleted the Minion app directory and reinstalled the new version and it runs properly. There's probably a conflict between 1 or more of the old files and the new ones, so it needs to be installed in a new location (or you just delete the old location then use it again).
