have you ever went to craft some leather gear and ended up crafting cloth gear, well I have way to many times. I don't understand why ZOS put both set in same window they could have made a tab to select between the two different types. So I was wondering if it was possible to do, and if so, are there any coders willing to make a go at it?

The same request again ... you did not search the forums before
The exactly same thing was requested a few days ago and it is not possible. You should contact ZOs and ask for a better way of crafting instead.

Its possible. I only use the Filters from it, and prefer the saving options from FCO ItemSaver but its possible:

I use this with FCO instead of FCO and Advanced filters, i used Advanced filters for some time, but FilterIt got its fix and i prefer it - the light medium tabs is one big point why i prefer it. And the Filtering from the Quickslot-Item-Kategories is better for me...

Ah thanks for the info, didn't know that Circonian's FilterIt is still up and running.
About "not possible": I meant the split of the crafting station into two.

It have some Problems with some Addons but i dont use Addons like these. For me i dont like Inventory Grid View wich is one Addon that has problems with FilterIt. At least its a try if its compatible with his other addons. Maybe you or some other Author can pick out the code for that specific feature to seperate it, i dont know how its done especially in such a big code...
