Addons losing settings/discarding changes when game not closed properly.

I noticed that some of addons im using, are loosing every change i did in them (settings, saved stuff like skill sets, chat entries) if my game wont close properly, like i ALT+F4 it, game crashes (either soft to error reporter or hard crash).


Is this normal? Is this how game and addons work that any changes you do are temporary and they will be saved permanently on game exit? Or is it fault of specific addons?

Your observation is correct. Unfortunately ZOS does not allow addons to determine when data is written to the disk. Save data is written on UI reload or when you log out or close the game via the proper functions.
If you want to keep your data when you use alt+f4, it is best to use /reloadui beforehand to get it written to disk.
