[outdated] PlaySoundFile(str soundFilePath)

Hey ZOS,

while addon authors have the opportunity of integrating custom texture files into their addons, I would love to get a function for displaying custom soundfiles, too. Could this be implemented or would it cause too much work?

Cheers,
Letho

I guess this would allow you to "open files from your local harddrive" and if the soundfile is a virus in the addon dir it could affect your pc, or something like that.

Would be cool if we would be able to play custom sounds though

I looked few times to the audio data of ingame files.. it's complicated, don't expect anything more than .wav

I second this suggestion!

I always assumed it was a design choice for some reason, but since Chip agreed to look into it - we really need this for the addons.

I already ran out of all suitable sounds for my addons, and no game with pvp can be successful without 'M-M-MONSTER KILL!' shouting in the middle of a battle

We discussed it and put some work on the backlog to get it in. No promises on when.

Thank you, Chip. Would be awesome if you manage to implement it at some point.

@ChipHilseberg:
With 2 API updates in place, can you give a short update on this?

As was recently mentioned on gitter, this is currently blocked by the sound programmers not having time to implement it.
