A possibility to disable the information of the items of the current character would be great.

Added feature FR105 - Option to enable/disable logged in character.
Note: This option can be found as a slash command [/in2 or /inventoryinsight hideRedundantInfo] AND in the settings menu for Vicster's AddOn's - InventoryInsight.

As the intent of this feature was clearly to remove redundant information I took a slightly different approach than suggested while, I believe, still satisfying the request defined here. Instead of just hiding the information for the character that is logged in, the following will happen:
  • PopupTooltips (Tooltips generated by clicking item links) will still display information on all locations even with this option enabled. The idea here is that you are not "necessarily" viewing your inventory and knowing that you have one on your character or in your bank may be good information.
  • ItemTooltips (Tooltips generated when you mouse over an item in your inventory or bank) will not display information for the current character if your inventory is open AND this option is enabled. Thought here is, if your inventory is open you know how many you have. Therefore, the information is redundant.
  • ItemTooltips will not display information for the bank if your are currently viewing your bank AND this option is enabled. Same as above; you already know how many are in your bank if you are currently in your bank.

Please let me know your thoughts. I hope you find this feature update helpful and meting your approval.
