Updating Quest Information

Most of the quest information has been added or updated by mass adding quests from the SavedVariables file. However, I am no longer accepting information that way unless it is for a new chapter. If you have a specific quest pin you would like updated provide the information at LibQuestData:Github/22.

Description
Adds pins for completed and uncompleted quests to the map. (Including not yet started quests!)

NOTE: Map pins are never added to the Tamriel map. Not by QuestMap or HarvestMap.

Major change: Quest Map no longer has internal quest information and instead uses LibQuestData.

Please do not submit `QuestMapScout` files as the information is not formatted for what Quest Map uses. If you want to contribute then upload your LibQuestData to the GitHub link above under "Special Request".

Requirements

To be able to use this add-on you'll need to install these libraries too:
LibMapData - LibMapData

LibQuestData

LibMapPins

LibGPS - LibGPS
NOTE LibGPS Requires: LibMapPing, LibDebugLogger, LibChatMessage so be sure to download them as well. As always read the authors description page for more information.

These add-ons are optional:
LibAddonMenu - For changing Quest Map settings

LibMsgWin - For '/qmlist' command feature (see below)

Features

Uses new functions introduced in API update 6 to automatically get a list of completed quests, that means you can start using this add-on at any time/level and it will "know" which quests you have completed before.
Tooltip shows the quest name and additional info (Cadwell's Almanac quest, skill point reward)
Manually (un)hide ((un)mark as completed) quest pins by clicking on it
Map pin filters for completed, uncompleted, started and manually hidden quests (you can find them to the right of the map after clicking on the funnel icon)
Subfilters to only display Cadwell's Almanac quests and/or quests that reward skill points
Different map pin filter settings for PvP and PvE possible (e.g. quests not displayed in Cyrodiil but still in other zones)
Changable pin size and pin level
Languages supported: English / German / French / Russian / Polish

Commands (enter in chat input)

Open settings menu

/questmap
Manually (un)hide all quest of the currently displayed map (zone/subzone/dungeon/etc.):

/qm hide

/qm unhide
Display list of quests for the current map:

/qmlist *arg*

*arg* can be 'completed', 'uncompleted', 'hidden', 'started', 'cadwell', 'skill' or empty (for last used argument)

/qmgetpos
(Not for reporting quests) Display your current location

Notes, Please read!

Make sure you install the add-on before starting up ESO, else the pin icon files may not be loaded.
There are quests that are missable. Yes I know that sucks, but the missable quests are only (I hope) quests that introduce you to a new region (e.g. quest "To Firsthold"), that's why it's possible to have some few unfinished quests with no related quest giver in each zone.

If you want to help improve this add-on, LibQuestData automatically tracks updates for itself.

I've reloaded the ui and logged out and re installed the add on but its not working do you have any idea why its not working for me please any help would be cool thank you update it seem like it not working in any of the new dlc zones -not working in murkmire--summerset-vardinfell craglorn cyrodiil --hews bane and gold coast and heck even bleak rock ? odd I was gone form game for over year and half and just recently came back to game 2 months ago but while I was gone I always updated my ad dons every time I was on once a a week and after every major patch.. its odd I never noticed this before just now update 4-30-19-im noticing now that the exclamation points and the black triangles seem to be different for each toon and faction of that toon some zones seem to have all right map quest icons where as some don't -- I thought regardless of factions this didn't matter and quest and location where marked regardless -- its probably the fact I've been gone so long but I don't know any more at this point ? I can account for zone that have been completed and whited out but I only went to summer set and the new dlcs today and nearly all of them show nothing on map quest wise ..the harvest map works fine on every map and undiscovered areas seems like it works but -- quest map I herd is a bit buggy of late - but no ones got any answers to my odd issues some said it works for them others say it doesn't so far again any insight or help on this om opened to suggestion's thank you could I have corrupted files or some thing someone please if you can help leave me message with sugestions please thank you Last edited by gothgirl : 04/29/19 at 10:35 PM.

Oddly enough the one I needed to download was called LibStub. Once I did that it worked properly again.

When they revamped Craglorn (forget which update) they basically replaced all the old quests with new so if you had data from before that it's probably no longer reflecting what's live.

I had two questions. First is how did you extract the correct names and ID's for the QuestNames.lua and second is how do you determine the correct X/Y location and zoom factor in your ZoneSubzones.lua?

Good questions.

So for extracting the IDs and names in all languages I use EsoExtractData to get a list (csv file) directly from the client, then I do some RegEx-KungFu for formating it to LUA.

To get the info about the sub-zones I created a small add-on that uses the functions 'PingMap', 'ZO_WorldMap_MouseUp' and 'GetMapPlayerWaypoint'. Basically you can set a waypoint within the subzone at position 0/0 and when you zoom out to the main zone and read back the position of the waypoint you'll get the x/y position of the subzone. Repeat the same with another position and you can use the two points to calculate the zoom factor so that any position within the subzone can be translated to the outer zone.

That sucks! So I guess you have contacted ZOS support, have you also tried to report it with the '/bug' command?

I've also started using your Quest Map Scout addon to help contribute to your future zone additions like Murkmire and Vvardenfell and just wanted to say keep up the good work. These addon's are essential for those of us that get sidetracked while playing and run out of room in our quest logs.
