Combat Indicator  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.00
by: GetBackYouPansy [More]
Overview
This addon changes your compass colour (to red by default) when you get aggro and are in combat. Then, it puts it back to normal - or some other colour - when the aggro has gone.

When you're in combat you cannot mount your horse, may not be able to pass through doors, and do certain other actions. This addon provides a simple and clear visual indication which is intended to complement the default UI.

Installation
  • Easy mode: Use Minion!
  • Hard mode: Download and unzip into your ESO Addons dir.
  • God mode: Git repository.

Settings

You can enable/disable the addon and change the in/out of combat colour overlays via Settings > Addons > Combat Indicator
Combat Indicator will not be updated for each and every release of ESO. This means that you may need to enable "Allow out of date add-ons" in order to use Combat Indicator.

v2.00
  • Maintenance release only.
  • Version update for ESO 3.2.11 (Clockwork City; API 100021 - ten API increments later and most things still worked!)
  • Updated to LibAddonMenu 2.0r25
  • Updated to LibStub 1.0r4
  • Internal code improvements to encapsulation and localisation
  • Removed support disguises, Combat Indicator is now just that and nothing else!

v1.45
  • Updated to LibAddonMenu 2r17, for better compatibility with ESO v1.6.x

v1.44
  • Version update for ESO v1.6.5 (Update 6; API 100011)

v1.43
  • Upgrade LAM2.0 to release 16.

v1.42
Internal version only.
  • Version update for ESO v1.5.x.

v1.41
  • Separated the addon version and the settings version so that settings are not necessarily reset every time you update Combat Indicator.

v1.4
Internal version only.
  • Updated for ESO v1.4.3 (Update 4; Upper Craglorn, Dragonstar Arena; API version 100009)
  • Combat Indicator can now tell you when you are in danger of pulling aggro while disguised. This is the same hint that the stock UI gives you via the crosshair/eyeball DANGER indicator. The default compass overlay colour is amber. This is a 'freebie' feature; it is a functional prototype for a similar feature I have planned for a later version if/when API support becomes available.
  • Upgraded LibAddonMenu (bundled dependency) to version 2.0. This moves the Combat Indicator settings from [Settings > Addons > PansyLabs Add-ons] to the combined [Settings > Addon Settings] menu.

v1.33
  • Updated for ESO v1.3.3/v1.3.4 (Dyes; API version 100008)

v1.32
  • Updated for ESO v1.2.3 (Veteran Crypt of Hearts; API version 100007)

v1.31
  • Updated for ESO v1.1 (Craglorn; API version 100004)

v1.3
  • Added settings menu which allows the aggro and non-aggro colouration to be configured. N.b. if you want the compass background to be transparent when you are not in combat, you should set your non-aggro colour to white, but drop the transparency (alpha) to, say, 100. Also n.b. the compass border and fill colour cannot be changed independently.
  • Made some small optimisations that should make the compass border more distinct when you have aggro, and your UI scale is small (<0.75). These can be enabled via the settings menu, and are effective even if you are using a larger UI scale.

v1.2
  • Added support for quest map pin areas (circles on the map). The greeny-blue compass decoration that indicates when you are inside a map pin area will now also turn red on aggro.

v1.1
  • Fixed a bug where combat state got stuck on 'red' if you died.

v1.0

Initial release.

It should return to normal as soon as the game notifies the addon that you have left combat. I have just pushed out an update (will appear here shortly) so that it will reset after you die, as that was not happening before (it got stuck on red until the next time you left combat).

I may add a setting in a future version to let you specify the colours.
