wrong version#
Hi Sternentau,
tom.txt, Version: 4.29 - should be Version: 4.30 This leads to wrong behavior in minion. |

Anyone else getting the "TOM> Unable to answer this group" error when trying to use messages in catacombs?
I've uninstalled completely and reinstalled, and turned every other addon I have off and I am still getting the same message.

Hey Sternentau,
please do NOT include the libraries like LibStub and LibAddonMenu-2.0 without their own txt files anymore! Do NOT load the libraries from your addon's txt file "hardcoded" like that: Code:
## OptionalDependsOn: LibAddonMenu-2.0 Libs/LibStub/LibStub.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/LibAddonMenu-2.0.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/panel.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/submenu.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/button.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/checkbox.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/colorpicker.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/custom.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/description.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/dropdown.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/editbox.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/header.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/slider.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/texture.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0\controls/iconpicker.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0\controls/divider.lua If you are not able to update the libraries as they update, your included ones will always be loaded this way, even if their version is old, and this may break (already did in the past with other addons, especially with LAM2) other libraries with newer versions then. Please do the following for your addons, which are using libraries: Either do not include the libraries anymore into the addons so ppl need to download them seperately via Minion as if they were addons -> Best way as the libs can be easily updated this way. 2nd best choice is to include them BUT the total library with it's own LibStub.txt and LibAddonMenu-2.0.txt so the ZOs vanilla UI addon manager will read them, check their ## AddOnVersion: tag in there and does not load outdated/old versions anymore if the users got the libs installed with a newer version (by Minion as standalone or any other addon which got updated before yours is). So please change your txt file to: ## DependsOn: LibAddonMenu-2.0 and remove all these lines: Libs/LibStub/LibStub.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/LibAddonMenu-2.0.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/panel.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/submenu.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/button.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/checkbox.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/colorpicker.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/custom.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/description.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/dropdown.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/editbox.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/header.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/slider.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/texture.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0\controls/iconpicker.lua Libs/LibAddonMenu-2.0\controls/divider.lua And include the libs txt files in the libs subfolders! -> LibAddonMenu-2.0 got the ## OptionalDependsOn: LibStub already in so you should not add this explicitly to your addon's txt file. As LibStub is about to be obsolete one should also not use it anymore, where you mustn't. Like use the global variable LibAddonMenu2 instead of the LibStub call. This will make everything work properly for all addons again.

I've been wanting to set my own custom button instead of the default word bubble. I opened the lua file and found where the code reads th in game word bubble icon. I was wondering how to go about having it read an image from my computer instead. I have a clean word buble instead I'd like to use to fit in my UI a bit better.

No Support available???
I see that the add-on is being updated.
Yet, my question from over a month ago, was never answered? I love the idea of TOM, but I can't stand two chat windows on my screen. I would like to know if there is any way that the ESO chat window can be disabled if I'm going to use TOM. |

How do you disable ESO's chat window?
I have just recently added TOM to my add-ons.
Right now I have ESO's chat window up and TOM. What am I missing? I don't want both up. How do you disable ESO's chat window? |

Re: Keep TOM open during combat
Servus RexyCats, hmmm... to keep TOM open in combat is an undocumented function and could raise side-effects, this is not tested yet. But if you are eager to fire one shot, you may try this by changing the corresponding variable. First, locate and open the "tom.lua" file within your "SavedVariables" directory Then find the variable closeInCombat: Code:
["closeInCombat"] = true, Code:
["closeInCombat"] = false, Sternentau |

External logs?
Is there a way to access the recorded messages outside the game? For things like RP logs etc? I can't seem to find anything and my in-game records appear to have reset.

hey, love the addon; I use it for two important purposes: 1) to alert me to whispers (they can easily get missed and dissappear among all the other chat in vanilla chat window), and 2) to simply save chat for later reviewing (extremely convenient). But I have an issue where the TOM chat window will always be visible when I login, and I have to close it. May seem like a small issue, but it's annoying nonetheless, and also happens when changing to alts, for example doing writs on alts, I have to close TOM each and every time.
I never want it opened up unless I received a whisper or if I specifically opened it up myself manually. Any way to fix this so TOM will not be open when logging in?
